Zahlia (Altcanon)

Apparently said time to explain Zahlia is now. Maybe I'll whip up something better in the future, but hey, we have something now.

Zahlia Fides Geist (She/her)

Age: 20+ (the timeline is messy) Height: ~190 cm Classpect: Maid of Void

A free-spirited Void-Bound and former Duskwarden. Wishes to learn and arbitrate over secrets.

Zahlia is like if a manic pixie dream girl knew the spell Bone Crunch and every interaction had that sword of damocles silently hanging over it. -King_Fuffy

Zahlia claims to be a normal human girl. Whether you take her words at face value is a different story. Taken from her family by the Twilight Queen at a young age and trained as one of her operatives, she escaped alongside Simeon and now travels the Greater Void in search of allies to oppose the Twilight Queen.

Due to her training, Zahlia is disarmingly relaxed and open, in the way someone would be if they were immune to physical and mental threats.

Zahlia seems to come from an adventuring family. While she has inherited somewhere around 300 million credits to her name, all of it is in treasure rather than anything considered legal tender. While she'd love to sell all these dusty old artifacts, she also doesn't really trust anyone to hold them responsibly.

Zahlia is willing to teach others the art of swordplay, and offers questionable buildcrafting advice on her "Cooking with Zahlia" channel. Despite her fair share of admirers in the Knight scene, she has never given anyone her blessing to fight on her behalf in a tournament, not even Simeon.

Zahlia knows when she is being observed. She can accomplish otherwise impossible things when nobody is looking.

META: I came up with the idea of Zahlia as a girl with agency, to contrast with how so many other fictional women lack it. Their powers tend to be invisible or intangible, like invisibility, phasing, shifting, etc. I thought it'd be interesting to make a character with a solid idea of who she is, and how the world just has to adjust around that. Like Fuffy said, her ability to be silly is backed by a sword of damocles.

Zahlia is one of my favourite OCs to write! She’s from the story ORNATE and is an accidental whumper/reluctant caretaker.

She met Alistair through some mutual friends and he later hired her for on demand piercings and tattoos. For a price, she was able to look past how unethical it was to be giving piercings or tattoos to coerced and unwilling participants. His money means that she can work as she likes rather than having a day job and she’s completely okay with that. She played a big part in Elliot’s time with Alistair, especially early on, but managed to escape any blame from Elliot for it.
