Techza in the antarctic empire, ruling the country for several years, fighting wars, getting established trade routes, and all around making the country successful. The press and the public continually call them partners, because of course thats what they are.
That word has come to haunt techno, phil seems very unaffected when it comes to this. They havent hidden their relationship, they've been married this whole time and proudly wear their matching bands. All of technos letters, during the war efforts, to phil are public knowledge. They are like any other document, publicized for all to see. This never deterred techno from signing them as normal 'too my dearest' 'with much love i write to you' 'thank you my love'.
So what in that designates him and phil as coworkers? He cant understand how phil is never bothered by this, of course he hasn't explicitly communicated this to phil and they've never made a formal statement. But any king and queen dont need to do that, how come he would have to go out of his way for people to get that he loves his husband? He hasn't hiden it, infact he has been very upfront about it.
What finally broke him was a rumor that he had a 'secret lover'. He read the article with a deep feeling of dread that continued to get worse. That night he lay with phil next to him, phil reading some book while sitting up. He lays on his stomach, arms under his pillow as he stares.
That same tightness returned, this time with a strain in the back of his throat and a welling in his eyes that he tries to fight. It isnt until his breath hitches that phil looks over. It takes a minute before phil gets techno to say whats truly upsetting him.
"I just wanna love my husband without people calling us partners" this teary eyed confession got phil to act, before he only cared about showing techno how much he loved him, the world is unimportant. Instead he started with small things at public events, during interviews together, meetings with leaders.
He didnt realize how long he could get away with escorting techno into fancy dinners, or holding his hand under tables. The press took too long to realize, techno didnt like this rumor they made and phil didnt like techno being upset.
Finally during on of these interviews with several news stations it came up, on of them asked about the feelings towards the rumors. Phil knew technos actually feelings very well, some tears and angry rants told him a lot. Instead of explaining, they made eye contact and shrugged at each other.
They picture on the head every newspaper in the country happened to be the two of them kissing. They talked after about how its not something they've hidden, its been there all along, but the clues were each taken wrong and twisted into this rumor that had no reality.

Made this stupid fucking thing a day ago because of the one video. Like. Where lava rose and Tommy and Ranboo were like “nope the lava isn’t real” and quackity kept jokingly flirting with Phil
