ZAMEIS Ninais, fifth king of the Assyrians or Babylonians, ruled after his mother Semiramis, whom he killed, for 38 years, of which the first year was the 2000th of the world and the 1962nd before Christ was born. He is called Amraphel in the holy scriptures. He gave up the pursuit of war, and grew old with a crowd of women; yet he adorned the temple of the Gods. See Genesis ch. 14 and Berossus book 5, Justin book 1, Diodorus of Sicily book 3.
