Zander Raymond - no one notices the fly

A sweet-and-subtle slice of deep listening from Chicago's Zander Raymond. Released by the always-reliable Love All Day label, no one notices the fly feels small-scale but hyper-detailed, intricate and intimate. In his accompanying writeup, Michael Klausman says: "Every song on this record is slightly cracked and seemingly concerned with detritus, each piece a careful and layered accumulation of what in other hands might be solely considered cast-off sounds." That sounds right on to me — the album (featuring guest spots from M. Sage and Lia Kohl) is real-time ambient, playful and curious, providing the listener with a gentle and beautiful buzz.
