Abhisarika covers from 1950, 1949 and 1956. Abhisarika is a sex education magazine in Telugu.
The covers are quite similar to postcards, popular art and cinema promotional material of the time.
I keep repeating myself but the styles of the 30s and 40s (pic 1 harks back to these decades) are quite different from the 50s.

The zari border sari is very latter part of 1930s/early 40s and appears in several photographs. (1 and 2).
Elsewhere the Maharani in 1945 in a sari characteristic of the decade (plain chiffon with large spaced motifs, usually sequinned but painted here).
