I drew Zarius from @mekagojira3k’s apocalyptic kaiju novel All Your Ruins.  He’s a great horror-focused take on the giant fire spitting reptile archetype - not only are the cross-shaped spines an immediately striking and provocative image, but the way he powers his plasma beam is ingeniously groady, as he has to build up excess flesh and then burn it all off in the blast, swelling like a toad in a microwave before shriveling up afterwards.  And despite being played for horror as much as a kaiju can be, he still gets a sympathy for the monster moment!

I’ve been meaning to draw Zarius for a while but I’ve never quite nailed his look right.  This is the closest I’ve come so far, though, and I’m reasonably ok with it.

Anyway read All Your Ruins, it fucking rocks!

 I’m following the official prompts, but I also want to use this as an opportunity to draw all the old (and not-so-old) OCs that I miss doodling. so here goes

Poisonous - Care for a Drink?

I start off with the danger siblings - Zarius and Zozo. They’re here to strut around looking sexy, lose every remaining shred of their morals, and drink whatever is in that glass... is it wine? Is it whiskey? Is it nightshade? Is it whatever Zarius used to fake his death....?
