🎊: which is your favorite muse?
Oh man, that’s like asking me to choose a favorite child. I guess if I had to choose one, it would be Astoreth... but we’re talking the core spirit that makes up Astoreth Smythe, Astoreth Duskflame-Firewing AND Astoreth Dunemaw, three characters who started off with a similar core idea and spark of life who developed into three very different characters. Watching the same basic concept bloom in three distinct manners -- each entertaining, each thought-provoking and each compelling -- has been a really fun ride and a worthwhile experience.
🐞: which is your most childish muse?
Temprence Rainsong is a teenager and an orphan of the razing of Arboria. She’s remarkably self-sufficient, but she’s still very much a kid.
🐢: which is your most mature muse?
Nathalie Dessoir, Tremere lupine hunter in @stavier‘s Vampire: the Masquerade game. She keeps her cool in tense situations. She’s selfless and practical. She’s not the mom type, but she’s often the reasonable adult in the situations she’s in. I have a lot of fun with her, but she definitely stands out among my list of characters as someone who’s already worked through a lot of the shit that most of the rest are still figuring out.
👻: which is your most mischievous muse?
Well, Astoreth Dunemaw did throw fruit at her fellow Dreadtalon Councilors last night for no good reason... but I’m going to have to go with Zavyrian Firewing, blood elf mage, cousin to Westel, and relentless flirt. He likes stirring up trouble and making people laugh, and often these two objectives dovetail nicely into harmless shenanigans.
🐷: which of your muses is the naughtiest?
If you’re talking general wickedness: Astoreth Duskflame, blood elf warlock (though she’s spent the last few years being dragged kicking and screaming towards propriety). If you’re talking straight-up bawdiness: Kara, the satyr I played in a long-ago Changeling game, who probably had some of the healthiest relationships I’ve ever roleplayed but also was DTF at the drop of a hat.
🎭: with which of your muses can you identify the most?
I put a bit of myself into every character -- usually my negative qualities, if I’m honest! Belfstoreth has my sometimes self-destructive passion. Drakenstoreth has my parental issues. OGstoreth has my ego. Zavyrian is selfish. Tithe has my fear. Temprence has my tenacity. Nat has my anger.
Cearalaith Duskflame, however (and her original D&D incarnation, Cearalaith Es’Fiachra) has my hope, my compassion, and my optimism. I don’t always feel as cheerful as she does; I can’t always greet new days with the enthusiasm she does. I can’t always be as kind, or as patient, or as faithful or forgiving. I’m not always as quick to defend as she is, and I’m rarely as brave or as strong. But she is a good example of what I want to be, what I strive to be, the kind of person I would be very proud to be. I think it’s important for me to identify with her, even as I recognize that I have a long way to go.
