"Pushing yourself to the absolute limit. Something you haven't done. What makes you sure you could survive it?"

Fae had seen the darkness in Zbelth's eyes, as he signed. To be fair, he always looked serious, but this was different. Zbelth was someone who knew his own powers, and sought to improve upon others'.
Testing himself is something Fae's been eager to do. He knows his powers, he controls it well enough, he knows when to stop.
But Bel...
Does he not trust me? Fae's leg bounced up and down as he stared at his notebook, full of looped letters and diagrams. Notes.
Kinda weird, isn't it? He knows I'm ready. I know I'm ready.
"Normally, you aren't so harsh, Bel." Fae rests his head on his palm, frowning to himself.
Today was a lazy day, and it didn't exactly sit well with him. He wanted action, things to do, places to see, people to wrap around his fingers. A lull in the action only made him hunger for it more. Fae wasn't the type of person to sit around all day.
But perhaps he shouldn't spend time moaning about it. Rest was a rare commodity.
Though... maybe he could find somebody to bother.
Not Zbelth though, he isn't any fun. Even on a day-off, he's still work-minded. The only fun he has is when he goes shopping, an activity Fae enjoys quite much, though he accompanies Bel too because that man could not navigate to save his life.
That's something he also wanted to look in to, Zbelth's atrocious sense of direction.
An opportunity to pester Bel again, in Fae's eyes.
Mulling over his words earlier though...
Maybe Fae should train instead, it would be a pile of fun, wouldn't it? He could score some wandering eyes too, harmless little spars. And he would find his companion for the whole day, and only on that day.
Messy isn't Fae's forte, better to keep people at armslength to prevent attachments. Keep it short and simple to avoid feelings.
But perhaps that was Bel talking, or signing, he should say. It's what he's been taught. Fae agreed with him though, with your own life on the line, having less attachments would mean less distraction.
It sounds dreadfully lonely, doesn't it?
That's what he signed up for when he joined.
And he's doing his job.
"Training sounds awfully good," Fae says to himself, yawning as he stretched against his seat.
No point in wasting the day away.
