LYNX. DEMIMALE & HE/HIM, THEY/THEM. TWENTY-NINE. HUNTER.
raised in a nearly silent home that taught him to listen to the world rather than drown it out in useless words. they thought that voices were sacred, used only when they absolutely needed to, communicating mostly through gestures and their own form of sign language.
had a difficult time making friends growing up due to his semi-mute nature, he rarely engaged in conversations unless it was one brought upon him.
despite all of that, he still has a kind and loving nature, but his impatience and stubbornness can tend to overpower that.
his father died in a hunting accident, blending into the scene and ending up with an arrow shooting right through his abdomen. he broke his vow of silence, screaming until the last second as the pain rippled through.
he doesn’t typically respond to malynx, unless it’s in his mother’s tone. lynx was the nickname his father gave to him, and he cherishes it dearly.
he followed in his father’s footsteps to be a hunter, using his sensitive hearing to help him in the hunt.
lynx is very calculative, always thinking of every possible ending to each and every situation, finding the best route in his mind from things he hears, sees and smells. he relies on his observations to keep him ahead of the game, and they’ve gotten him far.
he can seem a bit stand-offish, his silent nature making him a bit disconnected to the world, but on his side, he has never been more connected and intertwined with the world than when he is listening.
his voice is kind of coarse, if you ever hear it. when he actually does speak, its a few words, maybe a phrase, but it’s rare to get more than a sentence out of him at once. he learned that usually, if someone tends to talk more in the conversation, they’ll come up with the solution themselves, finding their own way.
you have never seen lynx happy until you’ve seen him get lost in his head, tracing footsteps through the woods. it’s his last connection to the earth that had once been theirs, the one their ancestors let to ruins. he can feel a connection to the roots, to the hooves and paws that run rampant on the recovering ground.
wanted connections.
his brothers ( 2, one around three or so years older than lynx and one around two years younger than lynx, flexible ) and sister ( the youngest, i’m thinking 20? somewhere around that, probably doesn’t even remember their father )
an enemy, maybe someone who “bullied” him for his vow of silence ? bullied can go any way we plot !
best friend, someone who’s grown up with him, probably heard his voice quite a few times
hunting buddies -- i’d love some more of those !
someone who is trying to put more fears in his head about the government
someone who was with his father when he died ( lynx was about 12 ? maybe 13 when it happened so this was around 15-18 years ago )
someone who constantly tries to get him to talk, maybe asks too many questions ?
