So... Yo!
I'm inoli Shiba, general nerd cosplayer.... back from the depths of Tumblr cause the bots just bothered the kriff out of me and had to get off. Back-ish now. Name "Laural's Legacy" is for my Grandmother who taught me stage, monster and SPFX make up. Before she passed she was able to show her my Ganondorf (Trifecta of awards, best in show, audience aware, judge's award) I looked at her and said "this is your fault" with a big smile and it was the last time I saw her so happy and energetic. For you my 2 meter ornery gran.
been building Zeb for over two years now. I'll do posts on each little step I took. Zeb is NOT done!!! I have to recast his head and still fur out his legs arms and COMPLETELY redo the feet as that was a SHITCONCRUNCHAHHHHGOTTAGETTHISDONE moment in my life. #normal. the first pic is clearly the method I started with and this is the "thus far" results.
Building Zeb has been a life line while I've been struggling with mental illness and huge life changes. so... thank you Zeb for being my own little emotional support Lasat (thank you Thank you Steve Blum for helping build his character with your amazing voice acting talents! )
Lasat toes! Well a second set of temporary ones as NDK is this weekend and apparently parents tossed my old temp lasat feet.
Once I actually get heelless boots in I will be using those to build actual feets mold and casted in silicone.
LMAO ok so I'm adding facial hair and trying to trim up his fur before I airbrush. Now I've fluffed the fur to trim it to the same length before grooming it up. had a few people ask why not fur the whole mask, well because I've added some of the detailing, thats why. it's more of what I had an idea of doing from the beginning two years ago but encouraged by what we saw on the Mandalorian.
Proof I’m still working on Zeb….
In the bottom left corner you can see the ‘muscle’ and under suit, I’ve ripped off the arms and legs from mid thigh down so I can fur it properly.
This is a second dye job, from white to a reddish purple that was too red, dye tinted with blue… now too light and blue so I’m adding a third red purple wash. Let’s hope that’s a better bace color.
I am going for light because with the airbrush I can go darker, add in shading and stripes.
Adding fur to Zeb. pulling from some creatures in earth as well as the Mandalorian appearance. However I did want to show off the skin texture and the other details in the face so I'm letting the fur kinda ease up near the front of the face. I will be trimming and grooming it, I just wanted to have the fur done before doing so.
wont hear from me for a bit, moving states and trying to get my life back together after a not-divorce.
did want to share this.... so before u left wanted to use up my silicone so its well... truly less to move and as it's winter where i am i worry the temperatures will mess with the material that IS sensitive to that.
ok so top two pics is a failed Zeb and a working T'Pal. the first half of the foam silicone moved so my face would have had my nose at Zeb's chin. I am keeping it for a teaching tool for Cons that I go to, T'pal as you see i altered, truly it did turn out pretty good but how the expanding silicone is, wasn't 100% what i wanted. so.... T'pal it is. I will actually add more fur to him as I'm unhappy with the coloring and shading. guy deserves SO much more.
however re-casted Zeb's head, the foam silicone taking properly this time. i added some flocking to his ears and stripes, actual punching of fur will help with defining and making the stripes smoother and more defined. I love punching... punching being defined as using a tool to push natural hair/fur into silicone/latex prosthetics. I will be using this with Zeb's final process....making him the fury Lasat he should be from head, to arms.... to feet. and yes... oh Karabast I will be redoing and casting the feet so they're looking WAY better!
