I went out and shot the same image with the Zeiss 35-70mm f3.4 Vario-Sonnar T* and the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 Sonnar T* -if you check out my story you can see the difference in size between the lenses and how they look when mounted on the Sony A7Riii. What’s interesting is that the Vario Sonnar is wider at 35mm than the FE 35mm. The FE seems to have more contrast but at times looks less sharp than the 35-70 Vario. Note I shot the Vario only at 35mm.
