For what's it worth, I've been in the same kind of rut for a while. You get some of that validation from your friends, even to the point of calling some your "chosen family in my case. But what you want, need, is that person who calls you first in the middle of the afternoon when they want someone to talk to. Whose eyes you look into and they never look away. Someone who makes you feel special. I hope you find yourself someone who gives you all that, makes you secure in their love, and all!

I got so teary eyed reading this because it’s so hard for me to imagine having those feelings and dedication reciprocated. Like I really hope I find this some day, and I REALLY hope I’m not too jaded or scared to trust that I recognize what I’ve been searching for, and end up running away myself. I’m so afraid uGH
