It’’s because she’s a creature of noticing habit, she tells herself. It’s because she’s used to certain things following a certain pattern and it’s the breaking of those patterns that causes her to notice. There’s nothing about the individual in question that creates the feeling of annoyance that causes her to notice that he’s late. It’s not even that they have a set time for these moments, and it’s not that she’s ever made it known to anyone that she has come to tolerate those moments to the point of almost enjoyment.
