What are some of your favorite meals to make?? I literally can just make pasta and basic things in an air fryer 😅😅

i am also a pretty basic cook, so i have a lot of pastas and soups and chilis in my back pocket. also, i didn't really like spending too much time in my shared kitchen when i had roommates, so i always preferred dishes that i could just dump into a pot and then leave alone and go back to my room lol. it's only within the last year or so that i've started really cooking other things.

i've got a couple cookbooks with great recipes that i can't really link to here—a chicken tandoori inspired dish with roasted veggies and a yogurt sauce is a particular favorite. i also make a chicken and peppers orzo dish, and a one pot broccolini and sausage pasta and a recipe for enchiladas which is kind of a nightmare to make the first time around, but i always make double the batch of sauce so when i make it a second time it's way quicker. i've also got a bunch of slow cooker recipes that i've been trying out this fall. quick and easy breakfast staples include oatmeal with blueberries or strawberries + bananas and toast with smashed avocado and a poached egg.

here are some online recipes i can link to that i've made more than once (i apologize ahead of time, mOST of these are pastas or noodle dishes bc ¯\_(ツ)_/¯):

one pot burrata caprese pasta

thai spicy eggplant w/ basil

gingery noodle salad w/ turkey & cucumbers

chicken thighs w/ artichoke hearts & feta

spicy sweet sambal pork noodles

madhur jaffrey's chicken tikka masala

pasta aglio e olio

chicken souvlaki

turkey chili

and then sometimes i just toss veggies on a pan and roast them in the oven, cook some rice, and then top it with cheese or soy sauce or chili sauce, etc. whatever i'm in the mood for

Zeke and Cal for the five sentence meme

“Hey, bud what do you want to do today?”

"Hey, bud, what do you want to do today?"

Cal considers this for a few moments, before hopping to his feet. "I guess we can play video games until we have to go."

Go? The plan is for them to stay at the house all day while Grace runs errands, Ben works, and Michaela handles something with Drea. (Officially, she's off-duty. That doesn't seem to stop Drea, though.)

"Where are we going?"

"Mmm..." Cal's brows furrow together. "I don't know yet."

As much as Zeke loves not having to worry about his Death Date, or about missing some specific Calling, sometimes he really doesn't like being out of the loop.

"Did you have a Calling?"

"Yup." Cal hands him a controller, taking one for himself. "But it didn't make a lot of sense. I think we'll know when we get there, though. Pick a character."

It takes him a split-second to realize that the last part's about the video game, and he glances at the screen, weighing his options. This must be a new game, because he knows absolutely none of these characters. He selects a vaguely-cool looking guy with a sword, and Cal gives an approving nod. Great; he's still the cool uncle.

"You know, if you tell me about the Calling, I might be able to help. I've done it before."

"Yeah, but I don't think I'm supposed to this time. Besides, I have to kick your butt here really fast, okay?"

... Well, what's life without a little adventure? (Hopefully, exceedingly boring. As soon as the Callings are over, he's going to take up watching wallpaper peel, thank you very much.)

In the meantime, he has a kid to impress. "You talk big, but trust me, you're going down."

"Oh, you wish!"

And for the moment, at least, laughter fills the little home.
