Black Ice Part 1 Finish
Zeke had woken before his 4:00AM alarm had even gone off. He lay in bed, contemplating what he was about to do.
[You could just stay…]
“No,” he replied. “I need to get better.”
[Zeke, look at the gorgeous piece of ass lying next to you. I’m in your head, remember? Don’t lie to me.]
Zeke sighed internally. “He’s too good for me. I’m broken.”
[Considering how he barged in here last night and tore all your clothes off, I’d say he likes you just fine. Loves you even.]
“He thinks he does,”
[I think he knows himself better than you do.]
Zeke sighed, moving slightly so that he could look at Felix.
It actually hurt to look at him, knowing that he had to get up and that this moment would end.
He looked relaxed for once and much younger. His hair fell into his eyes. He slept with one arm under his head.
[Better get up now, rather than delay the inevitable. Especially if you’re not going to listen to me…]
Zeke ignored her, moving his hand over to push Felix’s bangs out of his face. He mumbled in his sleep but did not wake.
Sighing again, Zeke got up.
Once he’d showered and dressed, he made some toast and washed the last of the dishes. Lou would be over sometime this week to collect any food he had left and to keep an eye on the place.
[Bring him with you.]
“No Shiva. Just let it go.” He said, getting frustrated and lost in thought. What else did he need to do before he left in an hour?
When Felix woke up in the early hours of the morning, even though he was in a strange place (not the first time) he knew there was something wrong.
He sat up in bed and saw that he was alone. Frowning, he got out of bed and headed downstairs.
The living room light was on, the old grandfather clock on the mantelpiece reading 5:13AM. Two suitcases and a cat carrier sat on the couch.
He grabbed his boxer-briefs and jeans from where they lay on the floor. He walked towards the light in the kitchen.
Zeke stood back to him, washing a couple of dishes.
“What are you doing?” asked Felix.
Zeke dropped the plate he was holding back into the sink with a clatter. “Jesus Christ.” He clutched his chest as he turned around. “Don’t scare me like that.”
Felix crossed his arms, frowning. “What’s going on? Why are there suitcases in the living room?”
Zeke looked confused. “I’m going to New York. My plane leaves at 9:00AM.”
Felix was dumbfounded. “You’re still going?”
“Why wouldn’t I still be going?”
“I don’t know, maybe because of last night?”
“I’m supposed to be sentimental because we had sex? We’re not women, Felix.”
Felix’s features darkened so much that Zeke actually took a step back.
“You may want to rephrase that.”
As Felix yelled at him, Zeke tried to explain to him his reasons as best as he knew how. Shiva kept quiet.
Zeke stood his ground. “I’m leaving, I need to get better.”
“And where do I fit into this?”
Zeke didn’t know what to say to that. He struggled to form words. Why didn’t Felix understand? He was broken; he needed to get his shit sorted out. He could never be in a relationship with him until we was fixed.
“I guess I don’t. Jeez, well that answers my question.”
Scowling, Felix strode back into the living room and grabbed his t-shirt and sweater. Pulling them on, he fumed.
“You know what? Have fun in New York. Fuck as many guys as you want, fuck Tony fucking Stark for all I care. Eventually you’re going to find, Zanders, that you can’t solve everything on your own. Maybe if you actually tried opening yourself up to anyone, you’d know that.”
“Felix…”
Felix ignored him, shoving his boots on and grabbing his keys from his pocket.
“You don’t understand. I need to do this.”
“What you need to do, is go fuck yourself.”
“Felix,” cried Zeke, grabbing his arm. “I’ll be back when I’m better.”
Felix’s eyes were cold when he turned around. “No. if you leave, don’t come back. If you leave, we’re done. Don’t come back and try to find me.” He turned to leave and then turned back one final time. “This is why I don’t get close to people; they all leave. Figures that the one person who I ever actually gave a shit about leaves on purpose. At least my parents had the decency to die.”
He stalked to his old truck, slamming the door and driving off into the darkness, leaving a very quiet Zeke behind.
Felix’s final comment to him, hit him like a truck. He couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t move. He did nothing as he watched Felix drive away.
[Well, you dun-diddly fucked up, didn’t you?]
“Shut up Shiva.”
[I’m not the one who has to live with breaking Felix Foley’s heart.]
Zeke swallowed the nausea that came to mind at the thought of that.
[We better get into Captain America’s pants in NYC or this whole ordeal is just really a waste, isn’t it?]
Zeke bowed his head, trying to catch his breath. “I should go.”
He grabbed his stuff and locked the door for one final time.
The house starred him down as he left. Silent.

Black Ice Part 1 Chapter 12
He made sure to wait until Felix was completely out of it on his couch when he called Lou to ask him to come over.
The old man sounded pleased as ever over the phone. “What the fuck is Foley good for if he can’t drive your ass around? And didn’t he fix that piece of shit for you?”
Zeke tried not to roll his eyes, knowing the old bastard couldn’t see him anyway. “Maybe because he worked for you last night and he needs to sleep.”
Lou didn’t sound impressed. “Well I worked for me last night too, you don’t see me sleeping do you?”
“No rest for the wicked,” Zeke mumbled under his breath.
“What was that?”
“Just come get me, you old bastard. I don’t have all day, and this is important.”
Lou grumbled, but he final agreed to come pick him up.
Zeke left the house to wait outside for the next hour; he didn’t want to look at Felix’s peaceful sleeping face. It would only make it harder for him.
He sat out on the lawn; shivering only slightly even though it was November and was probably way colder than it felt.
He picked at a few fallen leaves while he waited. Finally after what felt like forever, Lou pulled into the driveway. Zeke barely gave him a chance to come to a full stop before he jumped into the car and sat there quietly.
No words passed between them. Lou finally turned the car off, the radio cutting off and leaving them in silence.
“What’s this about, brat?” Lou’s voice was a bit less gruff than it normally was. He turned his head to look at Zeke who had his head bowed slightly and wasn’t meeting his gaze.
Something was wrong.
“You didn’t kill anyone again, did you?”
Zeke jumped at the question, trying not to panic. “No!”
He finally looked at Lou, and the old man could tell Zeke was extremely upset.
“I’m leaving.”
It took Lou a few seconds to understand what he meant. “You mean you’re leaving town?”
Zeke nodded. “The country actually, I’m going to America. I think the Avengers might be able to help me.”
Lou sighed and leaned back in his seat. He thought the kid was in serious trouble. He was seriously going to have a heart attack someday. “So why are you telling me this?”
“I need you to look after my things while I’m gone. And you can consider this as my official one week notice. I’m leaving next Friday, I already booked my ticket.” Zeke stuffed his rapidly cooling hands into his pockets, trying to warm them.
Lou didn’t look impressed, but he didn’t look angry either. “Whatever you think you need to do, kid. Don’t worry; I’ll look after your shit, and the house.” He paused, not sure he wanted to ask his next question.
“Did you tell Foley?”
Zeke cringed and shook his head. “No, I will tomorrow. I just need to get a few things sorted out.”
“I bet he’ll love this.” Lou chuckled darkly. “You’re gonna piss the boy off.”
“I know…” Zeke tried not to panic as he thought about it, but he had no choice.
Felix would understand eventually, even if he ended up hated him in the end.
=-=-=-=-=
Tomorrow came too fast.
Zeke paced around the house. He almost wore a hole in the mats.
When Felix finally woke up, Zeke started getting sick to his stomach.
It didn’t help that Felix looked sexy as hell with his sleep rumpled hair and still dreamy look in his eyes.
“Fee? Do you wanna go for a walk?” He tried to sound as casual as possible, but his voice betrayed him by shaking slightly.
Felix must have been still too asleep to notice because he simply shrugged and stretched. “Yeah sure, just let me get washed up.” He got up to get a shower, leaving Zeke behind to his thoughts.
Zeke could feel a panic attack coming on. He tried to do anything to keep his mind occupied; he swept and cleaned the few dishes he had. He even cleaned the kitty litter and vacuumed the mats.
Finally, Felix came back from his shower and threw on his jacket. He turned to give Zeke a smile, raising an eyebrow when the blue eyed man went pale. “What’s wrong?”
Zeke finally got a hold of himself and he walked to the front door to put his shoes on. “Nothing, come on, I need to walk.”
[You can still fix this.]
“That’s what I’m trying to do.”
They ended up down by the lake. Felix’s breath was clearly visible in the air; it was starting to get colder being November and all.
He turned to Zeke who was only wearing a sweater, and unlike him, his breath wasn’t visible at all in the air. If anything he looked more comfortable than he did in the summer.
“So are you going to tell me why you’ve been acting so weird?” He tried to ignore the guilty look that crossed Zeke’s expression briefly.
“I just wanted to talk, I think I--" Zeke met Felix’s eyes, and he suddenly couldn’t speak.
[Just tell him! Don’t you dare leave him in the dark!]
Zeke pushed her away and kept her there so she couldn’t interrupt.
“I…” He was grasping for words. His mind was drawing a blank.
Felix was looking at him, looking slightly scared. He probably thought he was about to be broken up with or something. Technically he was, but Zeke couldn’t think of it like that. This was just temporary. He would be back. If Felix wanted to wait for him that was fine, but Zeke would understand if he moved on.
But instead he said, “I was thinking of going back to school.”
It wasn’t a total lie. But Zeke still wanted to punch himself in the face.
Felix still looked really confused but he managed to smile. “That’s good, I’d bet you’d look great in scrubs.” He pulled Zeke close by his waist and kissed his cold lips. “Dr. Zanders sounds sexy.”
Zeke pulled away from him, he was back to looking grumpy. “I’d be a vet, not a doctor.”
“Would you still know how to do a prostate exam?”
“Suck my cock, Motherfucker.”
=-=-=-=-=
By the end of the week, Zeke still hadn’t told Felix anything. He had resigned himself to the fact that the taller man was probably going to hate him and never talk to him again.
He wanted so bad to be able to explain, but he knew as soon as he tried he would change his mind and stay.
Then he would never know if he could have fixed everything.
He packed up his stuff and tried to get everything ready for tomorrow. His flight would be leaving at nine.
Once he was done he fell onto his chair and turned the TV on, not even bothering to pay attention to what was on the screen.
=-=-=-=-=
Felix yawned as he walked into the bar. He never slept well at his place, even though he actually had a bed to sleep on. For some reason he always slept better at Zeke’s, even though he was sleeping on the couch, and let’s face it…the house was creepy as fuck.
Lou was lounging in a chair close to the bar; he was looking up at the TV and didn’t even spare Felix a glance as he walked in.
Felix looked for Zeke, but the blue eyed man was nowhere in sight. That was weird; usually he was early to his shifts.
“Lou, where’s Zeke? Is he out back?” Felix asked as he took a seat next to the old man.
Lou’s eyes shot from the TV to Felix; he looked like he had been slapped in the face. “He never told you?”
It was Felix’s turn to look confused. “Told me what?”
“That stupid little--” Lou shook his head and gave Felix a sad look. “The idiot handed in his notice on Monday, he’s not coming back.”
“Oh right, school.” Felix replied, looking relieved that it wasn’t anything serious. “He told me about going back to school.”
“School?” Lou said, not really sure what the kid was talking about. “Well unless school has something to do with flying to America to get help from Tony Stark-“
“Tony Stark? What the hell are you talking about?”
Lou looked like he wanted to crawl into his office for a year. “Felix, he’s not going to school. He told me on Monday that he’s going to America to see if Tony Stark can help him with his ‘problem’. I told him he’s an idiot but—hey!”
He didn’t have a chance to finish his sentence before Felix was out of his seat and out the door.
He jumped into his truck and revved the engine, pulling out of the parking lot like a mad man. He didn’t even bother looking at the speedometer as he flew down the road, his mind filling with rage as he made his way down the familiar roads to Zeke’s home.
He couldn’t believe it.
Zeke had actually planned on leaving without telling him.
Sooner than he thought possible he was pulling into Zeke’s driveway, he almost took out the mailbox in his haste.
He slammed on the breaks and jumped out of the truck, barely able to contain himself as he reached the door. Zeke had locked it for once.
Felix pounded on the door to the old house angrily. The place seemed to glare down at him disapprovingly for raising his voice and disrespecting the silence.
“ZEKE! ZEKE, I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE!”
The raven-haired man finally opened the door, looking alarmed and tired at the same time. Felix faltered in his rage for a second but then continued.
“Do you have anything to say to me?”
If he’d expected Zeke to invite him in, then he was surprised when the other man didn’t. Zeke didn’t even look ashamed. He just frowned and said gently, “Go home, Felix.”
Felix scowled, his entire features darkening drastically. “Don’t start this shit again.”
Zeke’s frowned deepened and he crossed his arms. “What shit?”
“You! You’re this island! A fucking island where no one can reach you and you’re too goddamn fucking stubborn to send out a distress call, and anyone who sees you and is like ‘hey, let’s go help this moron on this island’ and thengets eaten by sharks.”
Zeke almost burst out laughing. “What?”
“You’re an irritating piece of shit fuck asshole cunt…” Felix trailed off, trying to regain his thought process. “Why is it so hard for you to let me in? Have I made a single move in the last five months that would make you think that I want to be anywhere but by your side? You frustrate the fucking shit out of me!”
“Then why are you still here?” demanded Zeke, getting angrier. He didn’t need this; not now.
“Because I fucking love you, you ungrateful piece of shit!”
Zeke was frozen and for once, not literally.
Felix rolled his eyes. “See? You can’t even process this. Is it that terrible to have someone who gives a shit whether you live or die? I would take a fucking bullet for you and you don’t even have the decency to tell me that you’re off to be Tony Stark’s lab rat for gods knows how long.”
“It’s not like that!” sputtered Zeke, still not able to let the other man’s confession sink in. “I need to fix this. I need to get better!”
“You need to stop being such a fucking coward and deal with your issues! You need to stop being a hermit, hiding from the world and embrace what the universe has granted you. Being afraid of yourself does nothing for you. Accept your powers, learn to control them and then do some good. If you don’t like something, change it and if you can’t change it, then change your perception about it.”
Zeke was silent.
Felix rolled his eyes and turned to leave. “Apparently I’ve wasted my time caring.”
Zeke reached out and grabbed his hand. With strength that surprised Felix, he pulled the bigger man towards him. “You didn’t,” he mumbled, not meeting his eyes.
Felix raised a hand to Zeke’s chin. Their eyes met and Felix whispered, “Let me in, Blue Eyes. Literally, figuratively, whatever you want.”
He leaned down to peck the other man on the lips, but Zeke beat him to it, crushing his lips on his and pushing him back against the wall.
Felix was surprised but not even remotely disappointed. He reached behind himself and slammed the front door shut, moving them into the house.
Zeke broke the kiss briefly, looking behind them to see where they were going. He took Felix’s hand and pulled him towards the couch. He pushed the bigger man down and then slipped on his lap, straddling him.
“Jesus, Zanders,” Felix muttered, grabbing his shirt collar and pulling him closer.
Zeke never replied but kissed him hungrily, slipping his tongue past his lips. He pulled on Felix’s shaggy hair, trying, needing, to be closer to him. He gasped into the kiss when Felix slipped his hands under his shirt, feeling the taut muscle of his back. They broke the kiss briefly and Felix pulled the shirt right off.
His touch was electric and Zeke for once felt himself shivering from a completely different feeling. A deep, hidden need in him was coming forth and he thought he might explode if he couldn’t get closer to this infuriating man. There was something different about this time. He knew that this was it, the moment he’d been waiting for.
Felix kissed down his chest, flicking his tongue over both of his nipples, all the while running his hands up his sides. “You’re so fucking hot,” he mumbled, breaking the kiss to nibble on Zeke’s ear.
Zeke pulled Felix’s shirt and sweater off in one swoop, grinding his hips as he leaned in to kiss the other man again, capturing his lips as he let out a groan.
Felix grabbed his hips and moved them so that he was lying on top of Zeke, in between his legs.
“Is that an ice cube in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” he chuckled lowly, rubbing his own growing erection against Zeke’s.
Zeke scowled up at him. “Suck my cock, Motherfucker.”
Felix grinned wider and pulled back. “If you insist, Sugar.”
He kissed down Zeke’s chest, dipping his tongue into his belly button as he went. He undid Zeke’s belt slowly, loving as the other man squirmed with impatience. He traced a finger over the bulge in the man’s pants. It was everything Zeke could do to not beg.
Felix slowly undid Zeke’s jeans, pulling them down as Zeke lifted his hips. His erection swung free. Felix didn’t hesitate to take the whole thing in his mouth, tilting his head to take it all in.
Zeke’s eyes practically rolled back into his head at the sensation. He griped for something to hold onto, finding only the couch. He’d lost count of how many times they’d been in this position previously, but Felix always had this effect on him. The warm metal of Felix’s tongue ring scraped the tip of his cock and he lost it embarrassingly early.
Felix didn’t seem to mind though, swallowing all that he had to offer and sitting back up.
Zeke blushed, grabbing a throw pillow and hiding his face. He groaned quietly.
Felix chuckled, kissing up his chest and then grabbing the pillow and tossing it across the room. “Don’t turn shy on me now, sweet cheeks. I’m just getting started.”
“But--”
Felix shook his head, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips at every word. “Not. Done. With. You.”
Zeke, though still red, deepened the kiss. He ran his hands over the other man’s upper body. He couldn’t believe how unbelievably gorgeous the man was. There was a thrill of excitement that had never been there before between them. They knew where this was headed and they were both handsy and impatient.
Zeke ran his hands through his hair, pulling the dark brown locks. He jolted in surprise when Felix moaned, biting Zeke’s lip in response.
Zeke was hard again in no time and more eager this time to take control. He wiggled out from underneath Felix, sitting up and catching his breath.
“Are you okay?” asked Felix, his already dark and heavily lidded eyes darkened with desire.
Zeke nodded. “Just wanted to catch my breath for a second. I think you were trying to unhinge my jaw.”
“I’ll save that for later,” murmured Felix, peppering kisses over his lover’s back. “Lie back down and relax. And tell Shiva to stop distracting you and to go in her room.”
“Uh uhn,” mumbled Zeke, turning around and meeting Felix’s lips. He kicked his pants off and shivered. Now fully nude, he was losing some of his confidence. “She won’t like that."
“Don’t care. This is our time now. Tell her to go watch TV or something.”
Felix pulled him closer, concern flittering in his dark eyes. They lay side by side on the couch. Zeke ran his free hand down Felix’s toned side, feeling all the defined abdominal muscles and mentally drooling. He stopped when he reached the waistband of his jeans, fiddling with a belt loop.
“Why are your jeans still on?” he murmured in between kisses.
“Because you haven’t taken them off yet,” replied Felix smartly, running his hands up Zeke’s bare thigh.
Zeke bit back a groan; he didn’t have a great retort.
Felix ran a hand through Zeke’s hair, kissing his jaw. “What are you waiting for? Those jeans aren’t going to take themselves off.”
Zeke groaned again, this time in frustration and flipped them around so that Felix was on the bottom. He nimbly unbuckled his belt and unzipped his jeans. Ignoring Felix’s grin, he pulled the jeans and boxers down, pausing to wait for him to arch his back and lift his butt off of the couch so he could pull them off.
He pulled them straight off and tossed them aside, not hesitating to bend back down and capture Felix’s lips once more in a heated kiss. Their erections rubbed together and the friction was killing them both. Felix reached down, slowing the assault on his lips, to stroke them both at the same time.
Zeke groaned, bucking slightly at the touch. “Fee…”
“You like that, baby?” murmured Felix, kissing his collar bone.
Zeke moaned, reaching down to take Felix’s length in his own hand. “Oh god, Fee, I want you so bad.”
“I want you too,” said Felix, kissing him again and panting slightly. “A little harder, babe.”
Zeke complied, a shock of arousal hitting him at the groan that Felix let out.
After a minute or two, Felix placed a hand on his and made him stop.
“I’m going to defile you right here if you don’t stop.”
“What if I wanted you to?” whispered Zeke back huskily. He kissed down his chest, leaving a few small marks.
Felix pressed a hard kiss to his lips. “Bedroom?” he asked, his eyes darker than ever.
Zeke nodded, grabbing his hand and getting up.
He wasn’t sure how they made it upstairs to the bedroom, but somehow they were on Zeke’s old twin bed with his spider-man sheets.
“Don’t make any comments about the sheets,” said Zeke, pushing Felix down onto the bed and climbing on top of him. “Not now.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” grinned Felix, pulling him closer.
Zeke ignored him, grinding against him and loving how the other man was easily distracted.
Felix, not on to be overpowered for long, flipped Zeke over onto his back and said, “Where’s your lube?”
Zeke propped himself up on his elbows and nodded towards the bedside table. “Nowhere secret.”
Felix rolled over and opened the drawer, fishing it out and then rolled back over. He caught sight of the slight flicker of fear in the other man’s eyes.
Felix’s stomach jumped with nerves suddenly. “Are you alright?”
Zeke nodded. “Just not looking forward to the pain.”
Felix kissed him softly, tenderly and then said, “I’ve got you, Blue Eyes. You need me to stop or slow down, you tell me. I’ll just try to placate my blue balls in the meantime.”
Zeke snorted, knowing that Felix was only kidding. “If you wanted sympathy, your balls aren’t a great place to start.”
“I was just trying to make you laugh.” Felix pushed him down on the bed and kissed him again, too addicted to want to stop for long. “Stop worrying. I’ve got your back…” he mumbled again.
After a steady run of making out again, Felix got Zeke to get on all fours in front of him. He lubed up one finger and when he nodded the okay, he slowly inserted it.
When Zeke didn’t lose his cool, Felix slowly moved it around, familiarizing him to the sensation. He reached around and stroked his cock at the same time to distract him from any discomfort.
“Okay,” said Felix, pulling his finger out. “I’m inserting two now.”
Zeke nodded, burying his face in his pillow.
Felix kissed his hip fondly. “Relax, baby. Relax…”
Zeke did and Felix slowly inserted two fingers.
Felix slowly worked him through the process until he was ready. He peppered his body with kisses, trying to get him to relax a little more.
“Roll over,” he said to Zeke.
Zeke did, sitting up and watching Felix with mild trepidation.
“We can still stop,” said Felix softly, his brown eyes boring into Zeke’s blue.
Zeke pulled him closer, kissing him hard and passionately. When they broke apart, Felix was rather breathless.
“I want you so bad it hurts. I have for months. I need you now. So stop worrying. Fuck me before I change my mind, don’t give you a choice, and fuck you instead.”
Felix rolled his eyes, but grinned at his words. “Touch me then,” he challenged, handing him the bottle of lube. “Get me ready.”
Zeke popped the cap off, squirting a good handful of lube into his hand. He stroked Felix’s long, thick length, rubbing his thumb over the tip, noticing the pre-cum that had already accumulated there.
“Lay down,” groaned Felix. He was ready to explode already.
Zeke lay down on his back. Felix knelt over him, lifting the other man’s legs up. He lined himself up at Zeke’s entrance and with one final okay from him; he slowly began to push in.
He cringed at Zeke’s scrunched up face, but he didn’t stop until he was all the way in. He bent low, kissing Zeke all over and stroking his cock, hoping to distract from some of the pain.
“Holy shit,” breathed Zeke.
“I’m sorry,” said Felix, kissing him. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”
Zeke shook his head. “Shut up, just move slowly.”
Felix moved, centimeters at a time, until the grimace had mostly left the raven-haired man’s face. Felix carefully lifted Zeke’s legs, giving him a better angle and he began moving a little faster.
He moved his hips, slamming into him harder and feeling satisfied when Zeke nearly screamed with pleasure.
“Holy shit,” he panted.
“You okay?”
“Oh my fucking fuck, do that again!”
Felix grinned, moving Zeke’s legs to on top of his shoulders and he found the same spot. He kept up a steady, easy pace, trying very hard not to hurt the other man. It was so hard not to just fuck him as hard as he could.
“Felix, I’m not going to break,” panted Zeke. “Fuck me like you mean it.”
Felix slowed instead, lowering his legs and bending to kiss him. “Teasing you is more fun.”
Zeke scowled at him, flipping him over and surprising him. He winced and climbed off of Felix for a minute, grabbing the lube.
Then he did the most surprising thing Felix could think of and he climbed on top of him and sat down on his cock and began to ride him, slamming down on him without mercy.
Felix cried out in pleasure, his hands finding Zeke’s hips and he slammed him down harder, making them both see stars.
Felix grabbed Zeke’s cock and after a few strokes, he’d painted both of their chests with his cum.
Zeke moaned, closing his eyes as his orgasm took him. He rolled off of Felix to catch his breath for a minute.
“Is it always that intense?” he asked after a minute.
Felix, who was still hard, opened one eye and looked at him with a small grin. “I’ll tell you in a few minutes.”
Zeke blushed. “I’m s-sorry.”
Felix grinned wider. “You showed me what I’ve been missing my whole life; now let me show you what you’ve been missing.”
Felix came up behind him, kissing down his back. He rubbed his hard length against Zeke’s ass. He pushed him forward, bending him over and slowly slid in again. He gained a steady pace, reaching around and grasping Zeke’s cock. The blue-eyed man was soon hard again.
Felix grabbed his hips, slamming into him and making him cry out. The mix of the hand on his cock and Felix hitting his prostrate with his hard thrusts soon drove Zeke into a writhing, begging mess.
Felix pulled him up for a sloppy, heated kiss before finally sending him over the edge once again, Felix following suite soon after.
They collapsed next to each other, panting and barely able to see straight.
“No,” said Felix finally after an undetermined amount of silence.
Fear trickled through Zeke’s stomach, winding around like knots at those words. “No, what?”
“No, it’s not always like that,” said Felix, pressing a kiss to his temple and pulling him into his arms. “That was…mind-blowing.”
Zeke felt himself grinning giddily, a very unfamiliar feeling, as he buried his face into Felix’s shoulder. “I thought you were going to keep treating me like breakable glass.”
“Well, if that’s your reaction, then I’ll keep doing it.”
They fell into a comfortable silence for a few minutes, tangled together in the spider-man sheets. They both felt completed sated and content for the first time in a long time.
Felix shifted his head to look at Zeke. “Do you want me to go home? Or to sleep on the couch? I know you like your space.”
Zeke glared at him, moving to pin both of his wrists to the bed. “Suck my cock, Motherfucker.”
“Sorry, darling,” Felix smirked. “You’ve rather worn me out. I don’t have all that virgin stamina that you’ve got.”
Zeke jumped as rain suddenly sprayed against the window in a downpour. A flash of lightning crashed across the sky.
Felix pulled him into his arms again and pulled a blanket over them. He reached over and touched the outlet on the wall, turning off all the lights in the house that were still on.
“Are you cold?” he asked Zeke.
Zeke went to answer automatically but he realized for the first time that for the first time in five months, he wasn’t even the slightest bit cold. It had worked even better than all the make-out sessions and cuddling ever had.
“I’m fine,” he mumbled, laying his head on Felix’s chest.
They lay in silence for a few more minutes and Felix thought that he’d fallen asleep until Zeke said, “Fee?”
“Yeah?”
“You can stay.”
Felix grinned and cuddled the man, despite his protests for needing some space. “I love you, Zeke.”
He was asleep before he could hear Zeke’s mumbled reply of “Me too.”

Black Ice Part 1 Chapter 11
Felix woke up the next morning on Zeke’s couch with a hangover. He had vague recollections of Shiva helping him back to the house but then he’d passed out.
Extremely embarrassed, he wrote Zeke a note and then left. He drove home, showered and had a little nap, waking up in the early afternoon.
Feeling better, he was struck with an idea. He got in his truck and drove to the bar.
Zeke’s piece of shit car was still sitting in Lou’s parking lot, collecting dust and rust. He popped the hood and went to town.
Around five o’clock, Lou’s car pulled up, parking next to his truck. Lou squeezed himself out, looking towards Felix with confusion.
“Foley? What the fuck are you doing?”
Felix rolled out from under the car. “Fixing this piece of shit.”
He thought that Lou was going to say something, but the man just nodded in approval and walked off. Felix went to slide back under the car when Lou shouted, “You get grease in my parking lot; you clean it!”
Felix rolled his eyes but he smiled, having expected it.
Thankfully he was nearly done, finishing up with the wiring and then get out from under the car. He cleaned up his tools, wiping his hands on a rag.
He opened the driver’s side door and sat down, finding the keys on the floor by his feet. Shaking his head with laughter at Zeke’s scatter-brained-ness with his stuff, he put the keys in the ignition and turned on the car. He grinned as the car roared to life, but instead of sounding like it normally did (low level army tank), it purred like a cat.
He took it out for a spin and was satisfied to see that it ran fine now. As he drove, he passed a garage with a sign out front advertising discounted paint jobs. Struck with an idea, he pulled in.

Zeke rolled out of bed around noon the next day. He hadn’t heard from Felix the day before and it worried him. Shiva had only told him that Felix had been upset and they’d talked, but wouldn’t let him know what it was about.
Zeke had a shower and got dressed, heading downstairs to get something to eat.
[You really need to get groceries. That’s pathetic.]
Zeke ignored her, grabbing the last beer he had in the fridge and opening it. He would have to order groceries later. He couldn’t even order take-out because he lived too far away.
He went to sit on his couch but there was a small box in his normal spot with a note stuck to it.
“Shiva?”
[Not me, beautiful.]
Confused, Zeke picked it up, opening the note.
‘Zeke,
Sorry for being a jerk the other night. I’ll spare you the terrible apology and whining that you don’t need to hear and just say that I miss you. I have all the warm, gushy feelings for you that girls write in their diary about and I don’t want to lose you. So please be okay with the fact that despite me being a mutant, I’m still human and prone to human emotions (craziness) and still think that I’m pretty cool (and super-hot).
I was going to buy you chocolates or something but even I’m not that cheesy.
Love, Felix’
Zeke opened the box to see his car keys, now sporting a lightning bolt keychain as well as a bag of cat treats.
“Why is he giving me my car keys?”
[Beats me. The key chain is cute though. Lightning bolt so you think of him allllll the time.]
Zeke got up, walking to the front door. Nexus had jumped up and grabbed the bag of treats and carried them off somewhere, letting out a playful growl.
There in his driveway, was his car. But it didn’t look like his car anymore. It was painted a shiny, dark green and looked practically brand new.
[Holy shit.]
Zeke walked up to the car, noticing that new rims had been put on the car (actually he hadn’t had rims on the car at all before) and that it was beautiful.
[He’s a miracle worker. Nobody could make that piece of shit look like this.]
“He did say that fixing cars was a hobby.”
He noticed that there was a bumper sticker on the back. It read: if you’re going to ride my ass, at least pull my hair. Shiva found it hilarious but he didn’t get it.
There was also a small sticker in the small section of the driver’s side window. It was a rainbow heart with Zelix written on it in Sharpie.
“Zelix?”
[It’s your names combined, duh. Like Spideypool or Bennifer.]
Zeke couldn’t help but smile even though it was kind of cutesy. He pulled out his phone and called Felix.
“Zeke? What’s wrong?” answered Felix. He sounded half-asleep.
“Nothing’s wrong,” said Zeke, sitting down on his front steps. “I just wanted to thank you for the car. It’s beautiful.”
“Oh,” Zeke heard him relax. “I’m sorry. I was having a nightmare.” He coughed and Zeke could hear him moving. “So you like the car?”
Zeke was worried about the fact that he’d been having a nightmare, but if Felix didn’t seem to want to talk about it, he wasn’t going to force him.
“Yeah, I love it.”
“Good,” said Felix.
“Do you want to come over?”
Zeke could practically hear him smiling.
“Yeah, I’ll be over in an hour, Blue Eyes.”
Zeke hung up the phone, smiling.
[You’re in looooooooooooove.]
“Shut up, Shiva.”
[Don’t deny it, lover boy. You’re happier than you ever have been.]
Zeke realized that he couldn’t deny it, but he didn’t want to admit that Shiva was right.
=-=-=-=-=
When Zeke woke up that morning, he knew it was still dark out and his first thought was why he had woken up when it wasn’t late morning like normal. His second thought was: what the hell was that downstairs?
Grumbling he put his boxers on and tip-toed down the stairs. That’s when he saw Felix, standing in entryway, digging through the side closet to look for the broom. A broken vase was scattered across the floor.
Felix was muttering to himself, or most likely Nexus, who was in the closet ‘helping’ him.
“Nexus, shoo, you fucking black ninja. You’re going to wake your father up. At least then you can tell him how you jumped out at me and broke that vase, which was ugly, but don’t tell him that…”
“What are you doing?” asked Zeke.
Felix let out a not-so-manly scream and every light in the house turned on. He turned around to see Zeke on the stairs, looking amused.
“You jerk; I damn near had a heart attack!”
“You’re the one who broke into my house in the middle of the night.” Zeke pointed out.
Felix finally untangled the broom from the closet with a huff. “One, it’s like 5:30; the sun is coming up, in like two hours. Two, don’t flatter yourself, you don’t lock your doors anyway, so I can’t really break in.”
Zeke crossed his arms, looking tired and grumpy. “Why are you in my house at 5:30 then?”
Felix grinned at him, leaving the broom behind as he hurried up to kiss his grumpy face. “That’s not really a rare occurrence either, Zanders.”
Zeke sighed, not in the mood for Felix’s wit. “Why are you here?”
“Because it’s my birthday!”
Zeke didn’t budge. “You don’t celebrate your birthday. You told me that.”
Felix nodded brightly. Zeke assumed he hadn’t been able to sleep and had drunk a few energy drinks before heading over to his place. He sighed, his heart melting a little when he saw how excited the other man was.
“I know, but most people do and that’s why an alarming amount of places offer you free food and shit on your birthday.”
“And you want to go?”
“I have our entire day planned out, darling. All three meals and some stuff in between. I pay for yours and I get my stuff for free.”
“I can pay for my own,” said Zeke, frowning.
“No,” said Felix, kissing him on the lips. “I’m the one making you get up, you get yours for free.”
Zeke let it go. He’d somehow manage to pay for it later. “Alright, now go clean up that mess while I take a shower.”
Felix grinned happily at him. “You’re not mad?”
Zeke shook his head. “No, it’s the blue one that my grandmother’s ashes are in.”
Felix’s eyes widened. “It…it was the blue one…”
Zeke burst out laughing. “I’m kidding.”
Felix growled, grabbing him and kissing him. Zeke moaned, clutching at Felix’s shirt while the other man’s hands drifted down to his ass. They were both very aware of the fact that Zeke was only wearing boxers.
It was Felix that pulled back, giving Zeke a little pinch on the ass.
“Go take a shower,” he said with a slight smile, but his eyes were distant. “I’ll be downstairs.”
Zeke couldn’t help but feel a little guilty as he went back upstairs. The awkward boner didn’t help.
He sighed, turning the water to boiling and climbing into the shower. He couldn’t deny how badly he wanted Felix and he was pretty sure the other man felt the same way. Sure they made out all the time and they delved into hand-jobs, blow-jobs and dry-humping, but even Zeke knew that he wanted more.
But then it all came back into focus of why they hadn’t gotten that far yet. Zeke was dangerous and he didn’t trust himself. As much as he’d grown to trust and to possibly love Felix, he knew that the nerves involved with losing his virginity and literally giving himself over to Felix could possibly be too much.
“What if I got so freaked out that the ice attacked Felix like it did the guy in the bar?”
[That was different, Zeke. You love Felix.]
Zeke had barely admitted that to himself yet, but Shiva knew all his thoughts of course.
“Well it’s kind of going to hurt when we have sex for the first time,” he sighed. “What if that sets the ice off?”
Shiva hummed to herself, thinking about it. [Felix is incredibly patient. I mean, he’s stuck around this long. Even if it took him six hours of foreplay, I’m sure he’d be patient with you.]
“Six hours?!”
[If anybody could do it, I bet Felix could.]
Zeke pushed this thought out of his mind. He didn’t need to get himself more riled up. He was pretty sure he would die if he tried to have a cold shower.
Shiva smirked in his head. [I’ll go in my room then; let you take care of business.]
She walked away, into her ‘room’. Zeke laid his head against the cool tile of the shower wall.
“Kill me now.”
=-=-=-=-=
Felix was splayed out on the couch with Nexus on his chest when Zeke finally emerged downstairs. He paused for half a second to contemplate how cute he was before he walked into the room.
Felix grinned when he saw him, setting Nexus on the ground. He held out a hand, Zeke thinking it was to help him up, but when he took it, Felix pulled him down on top of him.
Before he could express much surprise or irritancy, Felix kissed him.
But what Felix hadn’t anticipated was when Zeke kissed him back quite enthusiastically. He was even more surprised when Zeke tangled his fingers in his hair, pulling his head back and then attacking his neck. When he reached his collar bone, he bit down, nipping and biting until he left a mark.
Zeke thankfully needed a breather soon and nuzzled his nose against Felix’s face, curling up on him.
“Well that was a nice birthday present,” grinned Felix.
“You’ll get more later,” replied Zeke, being surprisingly bold. He blushed, getting up off of Felix.
The taller man kissed him. “We could always scrap all my plans and stay here…naked…”
Zeke blushed so bad that he looked like he was going to spontaneously combust. It took him a minute to settle his mind down. Finally he crossed his arms and said, “No way. You’d get bored after half an hour and then whine until we left. I know you. Or you’d bounce off the walls until I kicked you out.”
“Out of the house or out of your bed?” smirked Felix.
Zeke scowled in response, but his face was red all the way to his ears. “Get ready to go before I kill you.”
Felix pushed Zeke off of him and got up. He checked his pockets to make sure his keys, wallet and phone were still in there. “Okay, I’m good!”
Zeke shook his head and followed him out, both of them slipping their shoes on before heading out. He noticed that Felix was wearing a new dark green hoodie. It just had a random brand on it, but the colour suited his eyes, hair and skin tone, plus it was Zeke’s favourite colour. He noted the way it fit him snugly, but complimented him. He was also way too aware of how nice his ass looked in those jeans.
He shook his head and climbed into the truck. He really needed to work out his sex life before he became completely incapacitated by day-dreaming about how good-looking Felix was. He barely thought of anything else as it was.
They drove into the city, chatting easily about nothing too important. Finally they pulled into I-HOP and parked. Felix couldn’t hide his grin as he skipped over to take Zeke’s hand and pull him into the restaurant.
Felix ordered a ton of food, a coffee and some juice while Zeke ordered something simple. The waitress smiled at them both, being a little too friendly as she took their orders before walking away.
Zeke scowled as she left. He turned to Felix. “She’s into you.”
Felix looked up from his phone. “So?”
“So?” repeated Zeke. “Aren’t you going to tell her that you’re with me?”
Felix smiled brightly back at him. “Are you jealous?”
Zeke frowned and crossed his arms. “You’re with me; waitresses shouldn’t be flirting with you.”
Felix couldn’t believe how cute he was when he was jealous. “Darling, I didn’t even notice that she was. And if so, who cares? The worst she’ll do is make comments and probably slip me her number. She’s not the first and probably won’t be the last. But here I am, with you,” he said, reaching across the table to take Zeke’s cold hand in his. “Because you’re the person I want to be getting free food with on my birthday.”
Zeke blushed. He didn’t know how Felix could make something so simple sound so intense and resolute. He didn’t know what to say, but Felix didn’t seem to mind.
The taller man grinned at him. “You’re kind of beautiful you know…”
Zeke scowled at him, turning even redder. He flicked a sugar packet at him. “Jerk.”
Felix just smiled to himself and poured more sugar into his coffee. Even grumpy Zeke made him happier than he’d ever been in his life.
=-=-=-=-=
Felix took Zeke out to Starbucks, several clothing stores and then to a pizza place for lunch. He even got them a veggie pizza because that’s what Zeke liked.
They went out to the movies that afternoon before going to get ice cream and go for a walk on the waterfront.
Zeke reached over to take Felix’s hand. The other man didn’t look over but his grin showed how pleased he was.
“How’s your ice cream?”
“Good,” replied Zeke, who’d gotten peanut butter-flavoured.
Felix leaned over and took a lick. Zeke almost dropped his cone in his effort to get it away from him.
“Hey!”
“What?” grinned Felix. “You can lick mine if you want.”
Shiva laughed manically in his head.
“Shut up,” muttered Zeke, to both of them.
“You didn’t seem to complain the other night…” whispered Felix, winking at him.
Zeke groaned. “I’m going to end up in cardiac arrest if I get any redder today.”
Felix pulled him into his arms as though to comfort him but then said, “Really, sweetheart, considering you swallowed my cum the other night, you shouldn’t be upset about my mouth on your ice cream.”
He tried incredibly hard not to laugh when he pulled back and saw the look on Zeke’s face. He had to admit that it was worth it, even when Zeke shoved his ice cream in Felix’s eye.
They got cleaned up and walked for a while longer, talking about work and the summer and Felix’s travels. Zeke was finally getting bold enough to ask Felix certain things about his past, but strayed far from the topic of his parents’ deaths. Instead he asked Felix about what it had been like living with his dad and their time together.
Felix told him, dancing over the subject of his mother’s death, about how the two things he’d lacked in his early childhood was a loving home and the ability to defend himself. It was the two things that his father had made sure he didn’t live without after that. He’d been enrolled in cadets from the ages of twelve to eighteen and his father had taught him everything he knew. He’d been naturally tall and lanky, but was now incredibly strong and quick. He’d excelled at everything physical he’d been taught.
“You never wanted to go back to school after you left?”
Felix stiffened a little but shrugged. “Too much time had passed for me to go back to school in Vancouver, but when I moved back here in May, I applied for the army but was denied. I failed the psyche evaluation, most likely because I didn’t have anything to live for and they sensed that. I would have been a hazard.”
“So why Vancouver?” asked Zeke, trying to direct the conversation away from sad topics.
Felix smiled a little, thinking of the city he missed. “Dad always took me there in the summer. I had friends there. But Toronto will always be home.”
“Do you still talk to them? Your friends?”
Felix shook his head. “I tried, but things are just so weird with me. I was pretty unstable for a while. And they’ve all moved on. They have careers and partners and whatnot now. And I’m just bartending.”
Zeke nudged him subtly. “You’ve got me.”
“That I do, Blue Eyes.”
Zeke was quiet for a few minutes, thinking. “Have you ever met any other mutants?”
Felix nodded. “Yeah, we have secret meetings every other Tuesdays. Remember, it’s pot luck.”
Zeke elbowed him. “Seriously.”
Felix shrugged. “I’ve met a few. Despite all of Charles Xavier’s work in the U.S. with mutants, we are still feared and ridiculed. It’s been more chance encounters and whatnot. I met a lot in the States when I traveled. While having groups like the Avengers and the X-men and so on help, we’re still years away from actually being able to be out. Coming out of the closet once was bad enough…”
“Did your dad know that you were gay?”
Felix nodded. “I told him right before I graduated from high school. I think that was the most scared I’ve ever been in my whole life and he was like ‘yeah, son, I kind of already knew’. And that was that.”
Zeke shook his head. If only all parents were like that. But he didn’t want to dwell on that so he pushed it out of his mind.
“Did he know that you were a mutant?”
“No,” said Felix. “I mean, I think he suspected something like that but it was never discussed. But thinking back, I would have liked to have known whether there was anyone else in our family.”
“What do you mean?”
Felix looked at him with raised eyebrows. “You’ve read Harry Potter right?”
Zeke nodded, not sure what that had to do with anything.
“Well think about it like their blood-statuses. Purebloods would be those who have several generations of mutants, half-bloods would be that they mixed somewhere in the line, or maybe that they have a parent of each, and muggleborns would be those of us that are mutant, but have no knowledge of any past genetic history. Though muggleborns had a wizard or witch in their line somewhere, distantly, but perhaps they had squib children or something. Maybe I’m like that.”
=-=-=-=-=
They went to another restaurant that night for dinner. Zeke was incredibly surprised that he’d been completely okay with being out all day, but he knew it was because he’d been with Felix and that he’d been incredibly attune to his needs and moods.
Zeke ordered a beer and Felix paused, but decided not to where he had to drive them home that night. Then they ordered their food and sipped at their drinks while they waited.
They sat in a small corner booth, so Felix just took his drink and slid around until he could sit next to Zeke. He wrapped an arm around the shorter man and kissed his head.
“So how was your day?”
“It was your birthday, you tell me.”
Felix reached over and pinched Zeke’s cheek. “You’re so fucking cute!”
“I think you’ve lost it.”
Felix shook his head, his face getting more serious as he looked at the other man, staring deep into his blue eyes.
“No, I’m just incredibly happy.”
“Sure,” said Zeke, breaking their eye contact and blushing.
“No, really,” said Felix, his hand moving to turn Zeke’s chin back towards him. “There is not a single person in this world, alive or dead, that I’d rather be sitting here with. It’s kind of a big deal, Zanders. You melted my cold heart.”
Fireworks seemed to be going off in Zeke’s brain. Even Shiva was quiet as he looked back into Felix’s dark eyes.
“I would try to make a witty remark about ice and melting, but that’s kind of your thing…” said Zeke, trailing off. He could barely breathe right now. It was so much to handle; snuggled up under Felix’s arm, a few inches from his face, their legs pressed together, Felix’s hand on his face.
Felix didn’t even crack a smile. His eyes were nearly black, his pupils dilated, as he stared into Zeke’s. Zeke felt his heart thumping erratically against his chest, but whatever gods existed seemed to be letting him have this moment because the ice wasn’t acting up.
“Zeke…I…lo--”
Whatever Felix was going to say was drowned out by the waitress coming back and placing their food in front of them. She seemed oblivious to the fact that they’d been having a moment.
Felix blinked and the moment was dead. He pulled himself away from Zeke, who immediately felt the loss of warmth.
They continued their dinner and while it wasn’t awkward, it certainly had an undertone of an opportunity missed to it.
=-=-=-=-=
It was late when they got back to Zeke’s, nearly ten o’clock. They had been gone all day.
They greeted Nexus, Zeke going over to grab some food for the cat before he went to sit on the couch.
“Do you want me to stay tonight?” asked Felix, pausing awkwardly, not having sat down yet.
Zeke’s eyes widened. “Of course! I’d understand if you sleep better at home though…” they hadn’t really ever discussed Felix crashing on his couch all the time. It was mostly because Zeke felt guilty that he didn’t share his bed, yet glad that Felix respected his boundaries. He liked having the other man near though.
Felix relaxed and sat down on the couch next to him. “Naw, I sleep like hell every time I try to sleep at home.”
“Nightmares again?” It was Shiva who asked the question and Zeke could have killed her.
Felix looked surprised but nodded.
Zeke looked like he was going to ask about them, so Felix kissed him instead.
“Didn’t you have the rest of my birthday present to give to me?”
Zeke scowled at him. “You don’t even celebrate your birthday!”
“You could help me celebrate…”
Zeke was going to argue, but Felix had pushed him back onto the couch and crawled on top of him. He kissed his neck, moving the collar of Zeke’s shirt out of the way.
Zeke shifted so that his legs were on either side of Felix, who sat up a little so he could unzip Zeke’s sweater. He pushed it off of his shoulders and Zeke shrugged it off. Felix pushed up his t-shirt, kissing up his muscular chest. He reached his nipples, slowly tracing his tongue ring around each one before moving on. Soon he had Zeke’s t-shirt off as well and had tossed it across the room.
Zeke pushed Felix’s shirt and hoodie up as well and Felix took the hint, pulling them off before attacking Zeke’s lips once more.
Zeke involuntarily bucked his hips when Felix grinded up against him. “Oh god I want him so badly.”
“What do you want, Zanders?” Felix whispered huskily.
Zeke moaned when Felix bit just below his ear. He pulled the other man’s hair, eliciting a moan from him.
“Fee…oh god, Fee…”
He bucked his hips, this time to show Felix what he wanted.
Felix kissed down his jaw before ravishing his lips again. His hand drifted down, finally touching the bulge in Zeke’s jeans.
“Tell me when I get too far,” he murmured, nipping Zeke’s lip before moving farther south.
He unzipped his jeans and kissed his dick through his boxers. Zeke moaned, bucking his hips. Felix slowly pulled down his boxers and Zeke lifted his hips so Felix could pull the jeans and boxers right off.
Felix licked the tip of Zeke’s dick, making sure to run the metal of his tongue ring over it. Then he took his length in his mouth and Zeke closed his eyes, trying very hard not to lose his mind.
Felix pushed him down so he didn’t ruin his throat in his enthusiasm, but he worked him good, leaving him begging for more.
After not much time, Zeke came, hard and fast. Felix swallowed it all, before sitting back and wiping his mouth.
Zeke groaned, lying back with his eyes closed. A light sheen of sweat shone over his chest and forehead.
Felix grinned, moving up to kiss his lips. “Take a minute, beautiful. I’m gonna get a drink.”
Zeke said nothing. He was Jell-O on the couch.
Felix slipped his jeans off, which were far too constricting, strutting into the kitchen in his boxer-briefs. He grabbed a bottle of water and returned to the living room. He sat down near Zeke’s feet and grinned at him.
“Did I blow your mind?”
Zeke snorted. “Don’t toot your own horn. It’s not sexy.”
Felix leaned over him, giving him a light kiss that left him breathless. “Sorry I’m so unattractive to you…”
Zeke opened his eyes, taking in the sight that was Felix in all his naked glory, hovering above him. He hadn’t even noticed when he’d slipped off his boxer-briefs.
Then Zeke did the most surprising thing: he grabbed Felix and flipped them over with strength he didn’t know he had.
They were both surprised for a second before Zeke attacked Felix with his mouth. He touched Felix wherever he could and they were both hard again soon.
Felix reached up and grabbed Zeke’s ass, pulling him closer. They both moaned when their pelvises rubbed, the friction against their dicks amazing.
Felix reached down to the floor, finding his jeans. He reached into the pocket and found a small package. He broke apart from Zeke. “Hang on a sec, babe.”
Zeke was in a daze when he pulled back, but his eyes widened when he saw the package in Felix’s hand.
“Don’t worry, it’s not a condom; it’s just lube. I’m not stealing your virtue tonight.”
Zeke relaxed a little, but his dick throbbed at the thought of Felix changing his mind, of him just throwing him over the arm of the couch and pounding him into oblivion. He thought about all his fantasies that involved both of them, crowded into the hot and steamy shower, soaping each other up. He blushed, thinking of how much he’d like that, but he was too shy to voice it aloud.
[Oh Zeke, you dirty boy.]
“Shut up and go back into your room.”
He snapped back into reality when Felix reached over and slathered up his extremely hard dick. Having been lost in thought, it took all his will power not to just cum right there.
Once they were both lubed up, Felix once again grabbed Zeke’s ass and pulled them together. The sensation was amazing. They rutted against each other like horny teenagers, all needy kisses and dry-humping.
Then Felix reached down and stroked them both together; neither one of them last long after that. Both of them came, panting hard, Zeke resting his forehead on Felix’s. His eyes were closed, his mouth whispering Felix’s name, before he collapsed on top of him.
When he’d regained his sense of reality, Felix grabbed something to clean them up with before he grabbed the blanket. He pulled it over them, kissing Zeke, who had curled up against him.
Zeke looked at him sleepily. “Did you have a good birthday?”
Felix smiled at him, kissing him gently. “If this is how great it is when I’m with you, I want to celebrate it every year.”
=-=-=-=-=
Zeke collapsed into his favourite chair. Every fiber of his being was ready to just relax and drink some beer, and maybe watch a few of his favourite re-runs.
It had been a stressful day so far. Felix had been gone all day, probably back at his place sleeping in preparation for his shift that night, so Zeke had spent his time wandering around trying to find something to do.
Eventually he decided to mow the lawn, which had been in some serious need of some maintenance. The grass had grown so long though, that he ended up jamming the damn machine, and then to his dismay, he froze the machine into ice in his anger.
He wasn’t going to cut the fucking shit with a pair of scissors, so he gave up and went to work on fixing the leak that had recently turned up in the ceiling. That went much better until he smashed his thumb with the hammer and ended up freezing a good portion of the wood.
“I fucking hate this! Why can’t I do anything without fucking up?!”
[Calm down and go eat a sandwich.]
And so he did.
Until Nexus jumped out of nowhere and scared him, making him freeze his just finished sandwich into an icicle.
In a huff, he had stomped upstairs to his room and slammed the door behind him. Throwing himself on the bed, he wrapped himself in his clean Spiderman Blankets and yelled into them, giving the pillows a few good punches for good measure.
[Well at least you didn’t freeze your bed…]
“Shut up.” He said into the pillow.
[Call Felix if it’s that bad.]
“No,” Zeke said, shaking his head as he curled up under the blankets. “I don’t need to bother him with something like this, Shiv; he can’t always be there for me.”
[He can if you let him.]
He ignored her and finally managed to fall asleep. He woke up a few hours later and made his way to the living room after that.
He flicked through a few channels, trying to find anything to watch. He ended up on a channel with some documentary about fixing cars.
“I wish someone could fix me.”
[Well you could use a few screws.]
“Jesus Shiva,” Zeke said as his face turned red. “Why are you such a perv?”
[Really? Do you have to ask?]
Zeke rolled his eyes and flipped the channel again. This time it changed to a news station doing an interview with Tony Stark.
“Stark has been on the news a lot lately.”
[He likes the spotlight.]
Zeke found himself paying more attention to the interview than he would have liked. Stark just had that type of personality, when he was in the room, you paid attention.
The newsman was leaning toward Tony, looking really interested. “So Mr. Stark, what have you been up to lately? Fight any aliens today?” The guy laughed at his own joke.
Stark didn’t seemed amused, but he smirked anyway. “Yeah, actually on my way here I took out a few Skrulls. And then I rescued a cat from a tree.”
The news man didn’t seem too put off. “Saving cats seems like a hard job. But I’m more interested in what you’re doing in your workshop. Do you have any new Marks you haven’t shown us? And I heard you made Captain America the main leader of the Avengers now. Are you getting too old to go out into the field?”
Okay, so maybe he was pissed. Zeke wished he had some popcorn; this was probably going to get good.
Stark handled it like a champ though, his smirk never faltered. “I figured I’d let Cap take over because he doesn’t mind dealing with idiots. He can get in front of a camera and pretend to make nice, where I just don’t give a fuck.”
It was a live feed so they couldn’t bleep out his curse. Zeke laughed when the news guy appeared to look startled.
“Look, you asked me on this show because you wanted to know how things were going with the arc reactor technology. I’m proud to say that within the next five years, everyone will be using a stable and completely non harmful source of energy. That’s my job, I fix things to make the world better, because I’m a genius and I’m also amazing.”
He pulled a bag of candies out of his pocket and started munching on a few. “So not only have I declared world peace, I also saved the world, formed the Avengers and solved the dreaded energy problem. You’re welcome.” He held out the bag to the newsman. “Gummy bear?”
The news man refused politely and the segment ended.
Shiva started laughing in his head.
[I love that man.]
“He’s kind of a dick, but I’ll admit he’s pretty cool.” Zeke turned the channel again, finally finding some re-run that managed to keep his attention for a short while.
But his mind continued to race.
Stark’s comment about fixing things had made him think. He was a genius after all. Just maybe…
[Don’t even think about it, Zeke. You’re fine as you are; you’ve got a good hold on it now. Every day that you spend with Felix is helping you come closer and closer to complete control; you just need to hang on a bit longer.]
“But… Stark has tools, he might even be able to remove whatever is inside of me. Then I wouldn’t have to worry about killing anyone, or even freezing my goddamn sandwich.” The thought was almost enough to make him smile. He wouldn’t have to worry about anything ever again. He could be normal. He could finally and truly be with Felix.
He wouldn’t hide himself from him anymore.
[Zeke, you aren’t seriously thinking of going are you?]
“I don’t know,” he said putting his face in his hands. “I just want to get better, Shiva; I would do anything.”
He thought hard about it. Images of a normal life flashed through his mind, making his head spin. He would sell his house and use the money to get a new car, maybe put a down payment on a better house closer to the city. He would make sure to get a bigger bed and he would let Felix sleep there any time he wanted to.
Maybe he could even go back to school and follow his dream again.
His hands almost started shaking at the thought.
“Tony Stark. He could fix everything.”
[Zeke…]
Zeke’s phone lit up and he picked it up off the side table.
It was Felix telling him he was up.
He quickly replied and put the phone back down. The guilt started to fill him as his mind decided its course of action.
He was going to New York.
He would get better.
But he would have to leave Felix.
He clenched his hand into a fist and watched the ice crawled over his skin.

Black Ice Part 1 Chapter 10
After sleeping most of the day away one Sunday after having worked until very late, they woke up only to spend the evening curled up on the couch half-asleep watching TV.
Zeke was laying on top of Felix, the bigger man playing with his hair, scratching his scalp soothingly. Zeke laid his head on his arms, too lazy to get up to do anything.
It was dark out by seven as fall was in full tilt, making the living room very dark and mildly creepy. Felix turned on the end table lights, using his phone.
“You wanna go for a walk on the beach or something?”
Zeke blearily lifted his head. He was so warm and comfy. He never wanted to move. “Not really.”
Felix grinned at him, kissing his nose, which was cold. “Come on. I can’t stand sitting still any longer. Let’s go for a jog and get our blood moving.”
Zeke grumbled, not moving. “I’d rather you get my blood moving other ways…”
“What was that? You want me to annoy you until you get your cute butt off of me?”
Felix traced his warm fingers down Zeke’s sides, tickling him. Zeke jerked and squirmed before rolling off of the couch.
“Ass.”
Felix rolled off, landing on his knees and hugging Zeke to him, his cheek pressed against Zeke’s hip.
“Yes, I do love your ass.” He gave it a loving pinch.
Zeke pulled himself out of Felix’s grip. “Suck my cock, Motherfucker.”
Felix grinned, going to grab Zeke’s pyjama pants to pull them down, but the other man was too fast. Felix laughed, getting up.
“Go put on some clothes, Zanders. We’re going for a jog.”
Zeke grumbled, going upstairs.
Twenty minutes later they were outside, headed for the beach. They jogged on the beach in the moonlight, Zeke loosening up a bit and beating Felix by a long shot.
Felix stopped them after a while, both of them sweaty and out of breath.
Struck with an idea, Felix took Zeke’s hand and led him to the water.
“Freeze the lake,” he said.
Zeke looked at him in confusion. “Why would I do that?”
“You never know your power until you try.”
Even Zeke would admit that he was curious about his powers, albeit terrified of them as well. Slowly, he knelt down and touched the water, concentrating on what he wanted to do.
They both watched in amazement as the lake slowly froze, spreading from where Zeke touched it, and far away from their view and the shore on the opposite side.
“That’s amazing,” said Felix. “And beautiful.” He squeezed Zeke’s hand.
Zeke was amazed at his own ability. The possibilities of what he could do with it seemed endless. But the idea of getting stressed and not being able to control it worried him too. He voiced this aloud to Felix.
“Then undo it,” said Felix softly.
Zeke knelt down and concentrated. Instantly the ice disappeared and the lake was normal once more.
“You can control this, Zeke. I know you can.”
“It’s easier when I’m not stressed though. It’s easier with—with you here.”
Felix grinned and kissed him. “Then think of me when you get stressed if that helps,” he replied boldly, though his insides squirmed. “Find that trigger, that happiness in all the darkness. It comes with practice, but there are reasons why I’ve never shocked you with my electricity by mistake or why when I get angry I never hurt you. Sure your powers are different but it’s up to you to adjust to them. And I have absolute faith in you.”
Zeke didn’t look at Felix but he smiled a little at that.
When he turned back to Felix, he saw that the other man was undressing.
“What are you doing?”
“Swimming.”
“It’s October!”
“So cold, but not freezing,” Felix grinned at him. “You should know the difference.”
Zeke crossed his arms and glared at the other man. Felix ignored him though, shedding all his clothes down to his boxer-briefs. He stopped, looking at Zeke mischievously before slowly taking them off as well.
Zeke turned away, blushing furiously. “Skinny dipping? Really?”
“Live a little; for a twenty three year old, you sure act like an old lady,” Felix teased him.
“Actually,” Zeke paused, thinking. “I think today is my birthday. I’m twenty four now.”
Felix crossed his arms, looking incredulously at him. It was rather funny because he was stark naked.
“Today’s your birthday?”
“Uh yeah. I don’t celebrate it, so don’t even start.”
“I’m just mad that you’re older than me.” Felix grinned then, bouncing over to him like a lunatic. A naked lunatic. He began pulling Zeke’s clothes off for him.
“Come on. I want to give you your birthday present then, but it involves you being naked in the lake with me.”
Zeke sighed and conceded. “Fine but if I die from hypothermia, it will be your fault.”
“I’ll keep you warm, baby.” Felix took off, running into the water and shrieking in a not-so-manly way and then cursing at how cold it was. “IT’S FINE!”
Zeke shook his head. He began to get into the water, but didn’t find it bad at all.
“Why are you still wearing boxers?” called Felix, swimming around and making a lot of splashing.
Zeke ignored him, diving in and swimming over. The water wasn’t bad at all. It was as nice as it would have been on a warm summer’s day.
Felix grabbed him as soon as he was close to him, for once needing his warmth. “You know what this means right?” He nibbled on Zeke’s ear.
“What?” Zeke gasped.
“You’re older than me; you’re a cougar.”
Zeke pulled back and gave him a dirty look. “Isn’t that a middle-aged woman who sleeps with a younger man? Like the housewife’s version of a midlife crisis?”
[I’m surprised you knew that. You’re still a cougar though.]
Zeke ignored her, waiting on Felix’s reply.
“Well, you’re hotter than any housewife,” muttered Felix, grabbing him and kissing him.
All arguments forgotten, Zeke let Felix pull him into his arms, moaning as Felix deepened the kiss; he was very aware of the fact that only his wet boxers stood in-between them. Felix planted his feet on a rock, allowing Zeke to wrap his legs around his waist.
Felix kissed down his neck, finding the spot below Zeke’s ear that drove him nuts. Zeke tilted his head back, allowing Felix more access. His limbs felt numb from pleasure.
“Fee…” he moaned, his fingers tangling in Felix’s wet hair.
“Hmmm…what do you want, Blue Eyes?” asked Felix huskily. He left several marks on the smaller man.
Zeke couldn’t reply. He knew what he wanted but he was still terrified of hurting the other man. For that reason alone he refused to be with him fully.
As though sensing this, Felix pulled back from him, letting him go and floating away on his back. He was breathing heavily.
“Are you okay?” asked Zeke, treading water, his own breathing rather heavy.
“Yeah,” said Felix, moving so he was upright again. “I just realized that I had less than honourable intentions and that I was going to rip those boxers off with my bare hands.”
Feeling incredibly bold, Zeke pulled his own boxers off, holding them up to show Felix for a second before tossing them behind him, towards shore.
“What are you doing?”
Zeke blushed, but didn’t break eye contact. “I’m—I’m not ready yet, but it doesn’t mean I can’t scratch skinny dipping off my bucket list.”
[Go fuck that boy now.]
“Fuck off, Shiva.”
Felix swallowed hard, drifting slowly closer to him.
Zeke swam closer, grabbing Felix and kissing him. It was exhilarating being this close to him, skin on skin.
They nearly ended up underwater in Zeke’s enthusiasm. They emerged, laughing.
Felix pulled him closer again, finding something to set his feet on.
They made out for a while, their fingers and toes pruning but they didn’t notice. Eventually they left, scurrying back to Zeke’s house in the nude. They never found Zeke’s boxers, which made Felix laugh.
=-=-=-=-=
Zeke found the days passed by quickly that October. Felix was over nearly every day and when he couldn’t come over, Zeke went to work to hang out with him. He knew he was falling fast and hard for the other man but he didn’t care. He hated any minute that they were apart and he found that he’d turned rather sappy, despite still keeping his grumpy demeanour.
He had agreed to come back to work on Friday and Saturday nights on a casual basis, but with the agreement that he would leave if he needed to. Lou had been extremely supportive but had begged him to come back with all the new students in town.
Felix picked him up before work as Zeke’s car was still in Lou’s parking lot.
They chatted easily, Felix driving with one hand so that he could hold Zeke’s with his other. They got to work around five o’clock.
“Zanders!” barked Lou the minute he walked in the door. “That bar isn’t going to stock itself! Move those cases out front!”
Zeke glared at him. “I just walked in, and I don’t start until six.”
“Did ask you how you felt about it? No? Then shut up and lift, boy!”
Zeke rolled his eyes, mildly annoyed but knew that Lou loved to boss him around. He turned to Felix. “Apparently I’m starting early.”
“Don’t strain yourself,” grinned Felix, winking at him before heading off to Lou’s office.
Zeke sighed, going into the bar to see what they needed and then retrieving it from the stock room. Then he had to mark it all down on a sheet and help Jack organize it. He made small talk with the bartender as he worked.
[Felix has changed you, you know.]
“What are you talking about?”
[You just talked to that guy without someone twisting an arm behind your back. That’s progress. Major progress.]
Zeke didn’t dwell on it, finishing his work and then going to look for Felix. Not seeing him in the break room, he knocked and entered Lou’s office without waiting for an okay. He wasn’t surprised to find Felix in there but he was surprised to see that they were making a toast, both of them with shot glasses in their hands. They turned to him, startled to see him.
“What’s going on?” asked Zeke, a weird feeling in his stomach.
Lou looked to Felix to explain, but that’s when Zeke noticed that Felix looked incredibly upset.
“Zanders, give us a minute, would you?”
Zeke frowned but did so, standing outside of the outside and waiting.
A few minutes later Felix came out of the office, looking much better. It wasn’t until he saw Zeke waiting for him that the dark-haired man noticed the clench in his jaw.
“What’s wrong?” asked Zeke.
Felix nodded his head towards the break room. Zeke followed, very concerned.
Felix opened his locker, hanging up his jacket. He pulled off his t-shirt, grabbing a black one with a small insignia that said Lou’s Pitchers over his heart.
Felix turned to see that Zeke looked strangled and uncomfortable.
“This wasn’t a ploy to distract you, but did it work?”
Zeke crossed his arms. “Put your shirt on.”
Felix grinned, pulling him in for a kiss, his troubles for the moment, forgotten.
Zeke groaned, his fingers threading through Felix’s hair as he deepened the kiss. Felix broke the kiss sooner than he wanted though.
“Not at work, sweetheart; don’t start something we can’t finish.” He pulled back from Zeke, pulling on his shirt. When he turned back around, he saw Zeke’s disgruntled face. “What?”
“Are you going to tell me what was going on in Lou’s office?”
“Pushy, aren’t you?” grinned Felix, raising a hand to play with Zeke’s hair.
Zeke swatted his hand. “I’m not kidding.”
“Lou was propositioning me.”
“Fee…”
“I’m considering it; I’ve never had a sugar daddy before.”
“Fuck off, Foley.”
Felix grinned, kissing him on the lips. “Don’t worry about it, Blue Eyes.” And with that he skirted around the smaller man and left the room.
“What’s going on with him?”
[No idea. I’m sure it’s either not serious or he’ll tell you eventually.]
“You’re no help.”
[Hey, I just live in your head. I’m not Dr. Fucking Phil.]
Zeke kept busy, Lou having gotten him to do some inventory before things got hectic. He didn’t get a chance to talk to Felix for most of the night as once seven o’clock hit, it was busy. He returned to his usual corner, watching everything, including Felix.
[God he’s smoking hot.]
“Back off.”
[Better lay proper claim to him soon, Zekey. He’s a hot commodity…]
Zeke ignored her, his bright eyes sweeping over the bar. He watched as Felix placed drinks on the counter, accepting the money and winking at a girl. He tried not to let it bother him, choosing to focus on the rowdy drunks instead.
Hours passed by and he kicked out a few drunks but mostly gave people the evil eye and they hurried along. He ignored Felix’s looks every time he rough-handled someone.
Finally it was closing time and they cleared everyone out. Zeke noticed that one customer still sat in the corner booth, his head down on the table. With trepidation, he approached.
“Sir? It’s closing time. You have to leave.”
The man didn’t move.
Grumbling to himself, Zeke slammed a hand down on the table.
The man blearily raised his head. “Fuck off.”
Zeke grabbed the man by the elbow and pulled him to his feet. What he didn’t expect was for the man to lash out and push him.
“Get off me!” He grumbled.
Before Zeke could react or the ice could do more than freeze his hands, Felix had come over out of nowhere and slammed the man against the wall by the throat.
“If you touch him again there will be nothing left for the cops to look for.” Felix grabbed the man by the arm and threw him out the door.
Lou came out from the office, having seen what had happened on the security camera. He went straight up to Zeke.
“Are you alright?”
Zeke nodded, trying to calm himself down.
Lou turned to Felix. “Go on. Get some air.”
Felix didn’t hesitate and he left without another word.
“No ice pellets this time?” asked Lou, turning back to Zeke.
Zeke shook his head. “Felix has been helping me control it. He—is he okay?”
Lou sighed, going to make sure that the creep had left his parking lot. “No, didn’t he tell you?”
“No,” mumbled Zeke, feeling sick.
Lou locked the front door and turned back to Zeke. The younger man noticed that he seemed old and weary instead of his usual gruffness.
“Eric Foley was a good friend of mine. We met in the Middle-East in the Canadian Forces back in the 1990’s when we were young and stupid, at least I was. He looked after me. He was everything I wasn’t. He died five years ago today.”
Zeke sat down in a chair, pulling at his hair. “Why didn’t he just tell me?”
Lou shrugged, sitting down next to him. “Don’t worry about it, kid. He just needs to blow off some steam.”
But Zeke did worry. He helped Lou tidy up and close up the bar. He couldn’t help but notice that Felix hadn’t come back in.
Lou locked up the bar and they both headed out to the parking lot. Felix’s truck was gone.
“Fuck,” sighed Zeke, pulling at his hair again.
“I’ll give you a ride home, kiddo. But you should get a new car and get that piece of crap towed from my parking lot. It’s bad for business.”
“Fuck off,” Zeke grumbled.
[He has a point. It’s a piece of shit.]
They drove in silence, finally getting to Zeke’s place. It was nearly three o’clock in the morning as they had closed at two. Zeke thanked Lou sleepily, hurrying inside.
He had a hot shower and then curled up under his duvet. As a last minute thought, he grabbed his discarded jeans from the floor and grabbed his phone from his pocket. He had two missed texts from Felix.
I’m sorry for the shit at work. I was having a rough day. I really hope you’re alright.
I’ll be by tomorrow afternoon. Call me if you need anything, Blue Eyes. <3
“What does that sign mean?”
[It’s a heart.]
Zeke smiled a little to himself and then curled up in bed, shivering, but still clutching the phone.
=-=-=-=-=
The next day Zeke went about his business, not getting up until noon and then not doing much after. He didn’t have to work that night, so he merely went for a run and then spent the rest of his time on the couch.
He was surprised when he noticed that it was five o’clock and Felix still hadn’t come over.
“It’s his night off; why wouldn’t he come over?”
[Maybe he didn’t feel up to it.]
Zeke thought of how Felix always was, happy-go-lucky and sarcastic and constantly spouting sexual innuendos and flirting. He couldn’t help but wonder why he still wasn’t using that as a defence.
[You need to learn how to deal with his pain too, you know. Relationships are about give and take and I’m not talking about sex.]
“He probably just needs space. That’s what I need when I’m upset.”
[Not everyone’s the same, darling.]
=-=-=-=-=
Early the next day, Felix showed up at Zeke’s, letting himself in. He found Zeke sleeping on the couch with the TV on. He set the case of Zeke’s favourite beer down on the kitchen table and returned to the living room. He brushed Zeke’s bangs away from his face, smiling down at the sleeping man.
Zeke stirred, blinking and focusing on him. “Fee?”
“Hey,” said Felix softly, bending down to kiss his soft, messy hair. “Why are you on the couch?”
“I couldn’t sleep, so I came down to watch TV, but I guess I fell asleep.”
He shivered and Felix made him scoot over so he could sit with him, pulling him and his blanket into his arms.
Zeke noticed the bruises on Felix’s right hand, specifically on his knuckles. He inspected them, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion.
“You didn’t punch that guy the other night, did you?”
Felix looked rather uncomfortable. “Uh no, that’s from last night. I went to a bar for a drink and this guy got into my face.”
Zeke said nothing, not knowing what to think.
The conversation moved on and Felix went to go get the beer, even though it was barely noon. They curled up on the couch, watching a movie.
“Shiva says I need to get a new car and I think she’s right. I can’t rely on you all the time for drives. Lou had to drive me home the other night.”
“I’m sorry,” said Felix, looking guilty. “I just needed to get out of there. I didn’t want you to have to see me like that.”
Zeke shrugged. “It’s okay. Lou explained things to me. You don’t have to worry about it.”
Felix was quiet as he took this in. it was nearly a full minute before he said, “You knew it was—you knew it was the anniversary of my dad’s death?”
Zeke was getting a bad vibe, but he didn’t understand it. “Yeah, I bugged Lou until he told me. He knew that you didn’t want to be bothered, so he told me.”
“And you didn’t try to call me yesterday?”
Zeke was confused. He didn’t understand why Felix was getting angry.
“No, I just figured you needed your space like I did when it was my parents’ anniversary.”
Felix sighed and stood up from the couch. He couldn’t shake his anger. The alcohol only fueled his fire.
“I’m gonna go for a walk, get some space.”
He left without another word, hating himself every step he took away from Zeke. He hated himself most of the time, so this wasn’t a new feeling. But this time he felt regret and the terrible guilt of having disappointed someone.
He walked down to the beach, taking off his boots and walking barefoot. He made it down to the water before he heard a voice calling his name from behind him. He looked up to see Zeke running towards him, waving ridiculously.
If he hadn’t been so miserable, he would have laughed, but he just waited. Zeke stopped in front of him, panting slightly.
“He’s a moron. He has no idea how to talk to you when you’re upset.”
“Uh what?” asked Felix, incredibly confused.
Zeke squealed and pinched his cheek. “You are the cutest when you’re confused. It’s me, moron—Shiva.”
Felix’s eyes widened. It still threw him off when this happened. It was really a different person but the same body. It was easily the weirdest thing that he’d ever seen and he was a mutant.
He let Shiva lead him over to a spot on the sand and they sat down.
“What were you saying before I realized that it was you?”
“Zeke,” said Shiva. “He’s just—emotionally retarded. He’s blocked himself off from so much crap in the world that he doesn’t understand the emotions of others.”
Felix didn’t know what to make of this. So he got drunk.
He and Shiva ended up having a bonfire, Felix grabbing the bottle of Jack Daniels he had stashed in his truck.
As he got drunker, he got more open and sometimes a little harsh.
“So I’m just never allowed to be upset around him?”
Shiva sighed, taking a swig from the bottle, knowing that Zeke’s new immune system wouldn’t allow them to get drunk.
“No, you can talk to me. And he’ll learn how to handle it eventually. He just needs time. This is all new territory for him. He had no friends before his parents died and now all he has is you and that old bastard.”
Like Felix always did for Zeke, Shiva suggested a game to distract Felix from being upset.
“I’ve never…god this is hard…”
“That’s what he said.”
Felix laughed, spilling some whiskey on himself. “I’m a bit of a slut, I won’t lie. There’s not a lot I haven’t done.”
Shiva laughed. “How about if I ask you if you’ve done something?”
Felix was too drunk to realize that this would mean that Shiva wouldn’t be drinking. He agreed, raising his bottle to toast nothing.
“Okay, have you ever bottomed?”
Felix giggled a little. “Yeah but not for a long time; I’m too much of a control freak to let someone else be in charge.”
Shiva contemplated another question, but Felix added, “You know who I would bottom for though? Captain America; that man is one fine piece of ass. He should be a god, not that Thor fucker. God, he’s so beautiful.”
“Dat ass,” said Shiva.
“Dat ass,” nodded Felix drunkenly, trying to be serious but breaking out into giggles again.
“What you ever been with a girl?”
Felix nodded. “A few but never again. Too much drama and emotions and craziness. Crazy, crazy, crazy…”
“Hey!”
“Not you! You’re in a man’s head anyway, so you—I don’t know. You’re cooler.”
“Do you love Zeke?”
Felix paused with the bottle at his lips. He lowered it slowly, looking at Shiva. “He’s not listening is he?” he whispered, like he was a twelve year old with a secret.
Shiva shook her head. Zeke wasn’t; he was asleep.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Are you going to tell him?”
Now Felix shook his head. “I’m not good enough for him. I’m slutty and angry and a drunk and I’m really messed up.”
“And he’s a grumpy virgin that freezes everything. Maybe you guys need each other.”
Felix shrugged in a non-committal way. Even through all the alcohol he still felt low. It just hurt less right now.

Black Ice Part 1 Chapter 9
Zeke grumbled and stretched. He was lying on the couch and relaxing like he normally was. Felix wouldn’t be over until later that night to stay over, which meant he was left to entertain himself until then.
He grumbled again and rolled off the couch and onto the floor with a loud ‘thump’.
He was starting to get frustrated.
He knew it was good to take things slow with Felix, but it was starting to drive him insane. They had been making out like horny teenagers for the last few months, and Zeke wanted to take things further. He just wasn’t sure how to voice his thoughts.
“It’s coming to the end of September; I think we can progress at least a little.”
[It might be for the best. Felix is capable of taking cold showers, whereas you are not. You’re going to end up creating another split personality with all the stress you’re undergoing.]
Zeke rolled over on the floor, almost squishing Nexus who had curled up beside him. He patted the cat in apology and pulled out his cellphone. It wasn’t even close to the end of Felix’s shift.
[So are you going to ask him tonight then?]
“Yeah, I think we’re in a good place now. I want to try other things; I’m tired of holding back all the time.”
He was really nervous about what he was going to ask Felix. He knew he was awkward, and he would probably embarrass himself.
Shiva seemed to be enjoying herself though.
[You naughty boy. Felix won’t know what to say.]
Zeke grumbled and turned the volume up on the TV, trying to ignore her.
The hours passed by way too slowly, and Zeke soon became bored. At some point he must have fallen asleep on the floor, because he woke up to the sound of a truck pulling up the driveway.
He cursed and turned the TV off, his face becoming red as he tried to organize himself.
Felix walked in the door and turned the lights on. Just as he was taking his boots off, Zeke came flying out from around the corner, lookingflustered and red faced.
“Hey, Blue Eyes.”
He was shocked when Zeke didn’t reply, but instead threw himself at him, kissing him with way too much enthusiasm.
When they pulled away from each other Felix felt himself grinning. “I think you should greet me like this more often.”
Zeke muttered something that was no doubt insulting under his breath and kissed him again.
“Not that I’m not up for this, but you have to explain things to me,” Felix said when they separated again. “Are we about to have a steady make out session?”
Zeke rolled his eyes. “Fuck off.”
“I’m completely okay with that by the way. I’m just confused is all? You’re usually so shy,” He watched several emotions flash across Zeke’s face.
“Let me show you what I want to do.” Zeke’s voice was quiet, but it sounded determined.
Felix couldn’t help but feel concerned about his behavior. “Are you going to take your pants off? Because I’m totally down for that.”
Zeke blushed and grabbed his hand, leading them into the living room. “Something like that.”
Now Felix was really concerned but he followed him.
Panicking, Zeke just kissed him, unable to find the words to voice what he wanted.
They ended up sitting on the couch but with Zeke straddling Felix’s thighs. He worked quickly, trying to ignore his shaking hands. He pushed Felix’s shirt up, breaking their lip lock long enough to pull it over Felix’s head. The other man seemed conflicted but his natural instincts were telling him to shut up.
Zeke kissed down Felix’s chest. He had a clear view of every line of muscle, every freckle, every scar. There was a thin line of hair trailing from his belly button and disappearing down into his jeans. Zeke swallowed hard, trying to calm himself.
He attacked Felix’s lips again, pulling his hair a little in his enthusiasm and was surprised to hear him moan into his mouth. Turned on even more, he got more aggressive in his pursuit, his hands drifting down to Felix’s belt buckle.
Suddenly, Felix pushed him back, breaking the contact of their lips.
“What’s wrong?” asked Zeke, panicking and thinking he’d done something, but his hands were only just starting to get icy.
“I was going to ask you the same thing,” frowned Felix. “Why are you pushing this?”
“Why shouldn’t I?” asked Zeke. “I’m twenty fucking three and I’m tired of being a virgin.”
He was surprised to see that Felix was angry.
“No, we said we would go slowly. It wouldn’t feel right if you all of a sudden started pushing sex.”
Zeke crossed his arms. “Why shouldn’t we have sex? I was aiming for a—a blow job but yeah…”
Felix scoffed, getting up from the couch. “Unbelievable.”
“I thought you’d be happy!”
“Not like this, Zeke!” retorted Felix, turning back, his eyes cold. “You couldn’t kiss me for the longest time, but now you want sex all of a sudden?”
Zeke paled; his eyes wide and hurt. “Well never mind then.”
Realizing his mistake, Felix grabbed his arm. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to insult you. It’s just—I really like you. And despite my less than honourable past, I have good intentions with you. We don’t need to rush this. You’re going through a lot; I just didn’t want to stress you out and end up pushing you away from me.”
Zeke buried his face in Felix’s chest. “I’m sorry.”
Felix hugged him tightly. “I am too. You don’t ever need to push yourself with me.”
Zeke looked up at him. Even with the three inch height difference, it made all the difference. He felt small and protected.
“But I want—that stuff—with you…” he blushed and hid his face again.
Felix put a hand under his chin and made him look at him. “You promise me you’ll tell me if it’s too much?”
Zeke nodded; his stomach was full of knots.
“Come on then,” smirked Felix, leading him back to the couch.
Zeke ended up on bottom this time. They made out for a while, Felix trying and failing to keep it slow. Before too long their t-shirts were off and things had heated up. Felix reached down and began to pull down Zeke’s pyjama pants, assessing his reaction. Zeke just laid back, his eyes so dark they were navy.
“Lift your hips,” he said softly, pulling them down. Zeke did and Felix pulled the pants down to his knees.
He moved back to kiss him, his hand going to gently take Zeke’s cock.
Zeke closed his eyes, his whole body tingling with pent-up energy. He reached for something to hold onto when Felix stroked him. Between Felix’s lips back on his and the hand on his cock, he thought he was going to lose his mind.
Simply having someone else do it to him, he felt the familiar tightening in his stomach earlier than he would have liked.
“Fee…” he said, breaking their kiss.
He didn’t need to explain, Felix knew what was wrong. He stopped and Zeke immediately regretted saying anything, at least until Felix ducked down and took him in his mouth.
Zeke’s body jerked in surprise and pleasure. Felix took the whole thing in his mouth and just when Zeke thought he was going to die from how good it felt, Felix hummed.
Zeke lost it, waves of unbelievable pleasure wafting over him. He groaned; eyes squeezing shut as Felix swallowed all he had to offer.
Felix straightened up, grinning. He kissed up Zeke’s chest, nuzzling into his neck.
“Holy shit fuck.”
“I’ll take that as a rave review.”
Zeke laughed, curling up against Felix. “Thank you.”
Felix grinned, planting a kiss on his dark hair. “You’re such a dork.”
Feeling slightly embarrassed, though satisfied, Zeke cuddled into Felix so he didn’t have to make eye contact with him. Understanding, Felix grabbed a blanket from the chair. He pulled it over them, neither of them caring about the fact that Zeke was naked and Felix still wore his jeans. They both fell asleep soon, still in each other’s arms.
=-=-=-=-=
If you knew anything about Zeke, you knew he liked to sleep until he woke up himself. If you woke him up before he was ready, be prepared to be the object of his wrath.
But Felix didn’t seem to give a shit.
He grabbed a pillow off the bed that Zeke didn’t have covering him and whacked him with it. “Rise and shine!”
Zeke’s response was to mumble something under his breath and roll onto his other side, facing away from Felix.
Felix put his hands on his hips and sighed loudly. “Come on, Blue Eyes. I’ve planned a day out for us and you’re going to get up and enjoy it.”
Zeke mumbled something that abounded a lot like ‘suck my cock, Motherfucker.’
Letting out another loud sigh, Felix resigned himself to the fact that he was going to have to use force.
He snuck around to the end of the bed and grabbed Zeke’s freezing feet from under the blankets. With one pull he took Zeke right out of the bed, dumping him into a heap on the floor.
Zeke actually looked furious; he jumped to his feet and glared at Felix, the air in the room cooling down by a few degrees.
Felix tried not to laugh at the fact that he was wearing nothing but Captain America boxers.
“What. The. Hell. Foley?”
Felix couldn’t help it, he smiled. Zeke was just too fucking adorable when he was mad.
“I told you, we’re going out today. You need clothes and obviously more blankets.” He gestured to some of the horridly floral blankets that were piled onto Zeke’s nest.
“I don’t need blankets, I have tons of them.”
“Okay,” Felix said chuckling softly. “You need blankets that don’t smell like somebody’s grandmother had owned them since she was fifteen.”
Zeke looked at the blankets with a confused look on his face. He was probably trying to figure out why they were being verbally assaulted.
“They smell like old lady, Zeke.”
“They smell like my mother, asshole.” Zeke stomped away from him.
Felix thought he had seriously pissed him off or upset him, but Zeke just continued to get dressed, the scowl not leaving his face.
“I’m sorry, Zeke. I didn’t think before I said anything.”
Zeke actually looked startled. “What are you talking about? I’m not upset; the same thing can’t be said for my blankets though.” He pulled a hoodie over his head and rubbed his arms in an attempt to get warm.
Felix laughed and pulled Zeke in for a hug, giving his ass a few good squeezes through his jeans. “Come on; let’s get this show on the road.” He gave him a quick peck on the cheek, ignoring how grumpy the blue eyed man still looked.
He managed to drag Zeke down the stairs; only stopping long enough to make sure the cat was fed before getting into his truck.
Zeke groaned and leaned his head against the window as they drove down the road. He had spent the entire night freezing to death, too cold to even go down the stairs when he heard Felix come back from work. So he got very little sleep, and as a result he was cranky as hell.
Felix didn’t seem to care. He found the next pop station on the radio and blasted it.
“I hate you,” Zeke said, but he was sure Felix couldn’t hear him over the noise. He sat up and glared at the man who was jumping around in his seat and singing along horribly to the music.
Zeke wanted to strangle him.
“Turn it down!”
Felix laughed and shook his head, “no way, Zanders! It’s time to wake up!”
Zeke growled and tried to turn the music down, but Felix slapped his hand away.
“Don’t touch my radio, that’s like the second most important rule in my truck.” He did turn the music down a bit though so they could talk at normal level.
Zeke crossed his arms over his chest angrily and glared out the window. “And what’s the first rule?”
“You can’t drive my truck.”
Zeke shook his head and continued staring out the window.
[There’s nothing sexier than a man who loves his vehicle.]
“Really? I think it’s stupid. It’s just a truck.”
[Better than your piece of shit.]
They continued to drive in silence until Felix finally got the hint and turned the music to an old rock station, lowering the volume so he could nod off.
Much to his surprise, he actually did sleep, at least until he jolted awake when the truck came to a stop.
Felix jumped out of the truck and went to the passenger’s side door and opening it. He managed to catch Zeke before he toppled out, still half asleep. “You ready for an exciting day of adventure in Walmart?”
Zeke blinked his eyes adorably. Felix still couldn’t get over how beautiful they were.
“Yeah, I’m so ready,” Zeke said, sounding nothing of the sort. He got out of the truck and rubbed the sleep from his eyes.
He jumped when Felix kissed him, the taller man tugged at his hair and he groaned happily, opening his mouth to give him more access.
Felix smiled into their kiss and squeezed his ass again, earning him another pleasurable noise from Zeke. He pulled away and pecked him once more on the lips, “now stop being grumpy and enjoy today and I might finish this later if you’re good.”
Zeke sighed, but he looked a lot happier and less like he had a stick up his ass. “Fine, but you’re taking me somewhere to eat. I’m starving.”
Felix laughed and pulled Zeke toward him so he could shut the truck door. “Yes sweetie, we’ll get something to eat. I’m picking the place though.”
Zeke shrugged, “seems fair.” He blushed as Felix wrapped an arm around his waist and lead him into the already packed Walmart.
“First we shop! You need blankets, and you have to get some kind of scratching post for Nexus.”
Zeke gave him a weird look, but didn’t complain.
Felix let him go for five seconds so he could grab a cart, but within those five seconds, Zeke had gotten lost in the crowd of people that just walked in.
He watched as Zeke tried to walk toward him, getting cut off by dumb customers that weren’t paying attention to where they were going.
Felix was worried Zeke might freak out, but he didn’t seem too upset, just grumpy because he kept getting cut off.
Finally he managed to reach Felix and wrapped an arm around him. “Holy shit people are crazy.”
Felix laughed loudly and led them away from the madness. “Well it is close to Christmas, so get used to it. I only wanted to come here because I knew we could get a few things for cheap. But we’ll have to venture into the mall for clothes.”
Zeke didn’t look impressed. In fact, he looked like he was regretting his life at that moment.
Luckily the bedding section of the store wasn’t busy at all. Felix quickly honed in on a Spiderman blanket, and held it up to show him.
“No,” Zeke said firmly.
“You love Spiderman, come on, how many people can say that they sleep with Spiderman every night?” Without waiting for an answer he threw the blanket into the cart.
Zeke just shook his head and pushed the cart.
Felix finally found a good duvet and put that in there as well, finding a nice red and black cover for it.
They had to face the crowds again to get to the pet section, but thankfully that section was also empty.
Felix picked out a cool cat tree for Nexus and piled that into their already full cart.
“Don’t complain, Zanders; you’re not the one who has to deal with the cat waking you up in the middle of the night while he’s sharpening his claws on your bed.”
Zeke was about to reply, but Felix gasped, cutting him off. He looked at what had caught the taller man’s attention, his face immediately going blank. “No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
Felix ignored him and started flipping through the items hanging up.
“Foley, you are not dressing my cat up.”
“You have no say in the matter. I need my revenge.”
Zeke snorted, already giving up. “When he claws your face off, don’t come crying to me.”
They slowly made their way back to the front of the store to pay for their items. It was still a few months before Christmas, but people were actually insane.
Zeke told Felix to go bring around the truck while he paid for everything.
That was a mistake.
Zeke tried not to freak out as people pushed him and crowded him in line. The lady right behind him was trying to mow him down or something; she even bumped his legs with her cart a few times.
Zeke tried to keep his powers under control, but the ice started slowly creeping over the cart handles. He managed to keep his cool until he got to the checkout.
The checkout girl was fantastic though and he was able to pay for his shit and get out quickly without freezing the entire store.
By the time he got outside, his clothes were covered in frost and he was breathing hard.
Felix got out of his truck, looking pissed as he wrapped his arms around the shaking man. “Alright, so no more separating in busy places.” He ignored the ice that started crawling over his fingers.
“Yeah, good idea,” Zeke said, pulling the ice back now that he had calmed down. He was amazed at how much of a difference it made to have Felix near him.
Felix cupped Zeke’s cold face in his hands. “Do you want to go home? We can try again another day if you want?”
Zeke narrowed his eyes at him. “I’m good thanks; that would mean you’d have to wake me up again some other day. I’d rather get it over and done with today.” He pulled himself out of Felix’s arms and went to go put the stuff in the back.
Felix tried to gauge Zeke’s mood when they got back into the truck. He seemed okay now, but he still looked a bit shaken.
He trusted Zeke to tell him if it was too much.
He drove them to the mall, cursing when he saw how busy the place was.
Zeke didn’t look too bothered though, he cut Felix off before he could even ask the question.
“I’m fine. Just stay close to me and I’ll be alright.”
Felix sighed and found them a good parking spot. The mall was huge thankfully, so it wasn’t as claustrophobic as Walmart, but it was still busy as hell.
“Why do I need new clothes again? I have plenty at home.” Zeke grabbed onto Felix’s hand as they navigated their way through the mall.
“Yes, but they’re all…” He paused, trying to find the right words. “They’re all loose and so…country boy looking. You need something tighter to show off that amazing ass of yours.”
Zeke pinched his arm. “So you brought me here so you could make me buy tight pants for myself?”
Felix smiled at him. “Well not just for you, I’ll be looking at you all the time so they’re kind of for me too.”
Zeke punched him this time and Felix laughed while he pulled him into a nearby clothing store.
Zeke had no sense of fashion whatsoever. He was very happy with his jeans and t-shirts thank you. So he let Felix have his fun, going around the shop and finding clothes that he thought would look good on him.
He was sure half the things he was picking out were not going to fit him; they looked awfully tight.
But Felix just gave him that damn cocky grin and pushed him towards the dressing room.
Once the girl who was helping them turned her back for a few seconds, Felix snuck into the dressing room with Zeke, almost giving the poor man a heart attack.
“What are you doing?”
Felix didn’t answer him; he just pushed him against the wall and kissed him. His hands slowly moved down and started un-zipping Zeke’s pants.
Zeke felt his face go red. He couldn’t believe the things that Felix did sometimes. “I can undress myself thanks.”
Felix ignored him and helped him out of his pants, only stopping his kissing when he had to pull the pants off Zeke’s legs.
“I’m going to hit you, Felix.”
“Oh come on, I’m trying to initiate sexy time in a changing room and you’re being stubborn, Zanders.” He kissed him one last time before backing up and letting Zeke try on the damn pants.
“I’m not being stubborn; I just don’t want to get kicked out of the fucking mall.” He finally managed to pull the pants up, sighing at how tight they were.
“They don’t fit; they’re too tight.”
Felix ignored him, sitting down on the bench and leaning back. “Not bad, now turn around.”
Zeke narrowed his eyes, but he did what he was told.
“Now bend over.”
Zeke hoped Felix couldn’t see his blush in the mirror, as he bend forwards, praying to whatever god to let this be over soon.
[Work it, baby. Give him a show.]
“Shut up.”
Felix startled him by grabbing his hips and pulling him toward him. “I approve of these pants! They are sufficiently tight!”
Zeke groaned and stood upright again, he was completely embarrassed. He yelped when Felix smacked his ass hard.
“Alright, try the other ones on to make sure they fit, I’ll be right back. There’s something else I want you to try on.” He chuckled as Zeke fixed him with another one of his famous glares.
He was enjoying this waaaay too much. He continued laughing as he slipped out of the small room.
Zeke had just managed to get the last pair of pants off when Felix returned with something black and shiny in his arms.
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Foley, you are not dressing me up in leather.”
Felix looked heartbroken. “And here I was going blow you when we got home for being so good--”
Zeke slapped a hand over his mouth. “Just shut the fuck up, stop talking so loud.” He grabbed the leather monstrosity out of his hands and glared at it.
“They’re not going to bite, Blue Eyes.”
“Shut up.” He grumbled as he put them on, making sure that Felix knew he wasn’t happy.
Felix just continued to smile as he sat down and got comfortable again.
The leather fit Zeke like a second skin. Felix tried not to let himself look affected, but all he wanted to do was slam Zeke against the nearest wall and ravish him.
“They look dumb on me,” Zeke said as he poked at the leather.
“Not at all,” Felix said, standing up and slapping Zeke’s ass again. “You could bounce a nickel off this thing, Blue Eyes.”
Zeke rolled his eyes. “Whatever, can I take them off now?”
“Spoilsport,” Felix replied, but he didn’t complain when Zeke started undressing again. “You’re getting them though.”
“No I’m not.”
“Stop fighting the inevitable, Zanders.”
In the end, Zeke bought the damn pants.
He was dragged forcefully through other stores where Felix made him try on equally tight tops. Satisfied that Zeke wouldn’t be wearing any ratty or plaid clothes for the next few years, they finally made their way to the food court.
He bought himself something to eat and a poutine for Zeke, almost telling him off when he tried to pay for it.
“I’m buying you lunch, Zanders. Now shut up and eat.”
Zeke fell silent and ate his food, knowing that it was impossible to argue with Felix when he was set on doing something.
After that, Felix had to run into the drug store to buy himself something to drink for later. He didn’t mind milk, but Zeke drank it like a cat. And if he didn’t want milk, the only other thing was beer.
He had only turned his back for two seconds, but in that time, Zeke had managed to disappear somewhere again.
He cursed and went to pay for his stuff, walking quickly out of the store, trying to spot where Zeke had gone off too. He couldn’t have gotten too far with all the bags he was carrying.
The sound of a piano playing distracted him, and he turned to see a huge crowd of people gathered in front of a music store. He pushed past a few people, his eyes widening in shock when he saw who was playing.
Zeke sat on the piano bench, his eyes shut as his fingers danced over the keys. Whatever song he was playing sounded beautiful, and the crowd must have agreed because they were silent with awe as they watched the man play.
Felix tried to keep his voice low so he didn’t startle him. “Zeke?”
Zeke’s eyes opened and he slowly stopped the song, the notes trailing off until they fell silent. Zeke’s face was slowly turning red as he saw the crowd of people who had surrounded him.
The people clapped and then scattered, going back to their shopping.
Felix helped pick up a few bags as they walked toward the exit of the mall.
“You can play? I thought you weren’t into music?”
Zeke still looked embarrassed. “It kind of came with the territory of having a strict mother. My sister and I both had to learn how to play an instrument. Val can play the cello.”
Felix smirked. “You know what this means, right?”
“What?”
“You have to serenade me. It’s required of you now.”
Zeke snorted loudly. “You wish.”
Zeke was more agreeable for the ride home. He even managed to crack a small smile when Felix started singing along to a random song, not even knowing half the words.
They somehow got all the stuff inside without putting their backs out, and Nexus was super pleased with his new cat tree.
“Now scratch on that instead of the couch, you little rascal.” Felix said as he ruffled the cat’s fur, smiling when he received a kitty kiss.
Zeke had gone upstairs to get a shower. Felix smiled brightly when the blue eyed man came down the stairs wearing the new things that Felix made him buy. He looked fucking fantastic.
They ate something for supper and curled up on the couch to watch a movie after. At some point Felix must have fallen asleep, because when he woke up, the room was dark and Zeke was nowhere to be seen.
He was about to roll over when he heard it; the soft notes playing quietly through the walls.
He sat up and followed the sound of the music. It was coming from upstairs.
Felix jogged up them, trying not to trip and kill himself in the dark. When he reached the top he could see a light on at the end of the hall coming from one of the rooms that was usually closed.
He tried to be as quiet as possible as he walked down the hall, stopping in the doorway to look at Zeke.
His eyes were closed again as he played, there was no music sheet which meant he was playing the song from memory.
Impressive.
As the notes sped up Felix walked closer to him until he was standing behind him. He leaned down to wrap his arms around the shivering man.
Zeke jumped and cursed, turning to glare at Felix. “What the hell? I was playing quietly, go back to bed.”
Felix pulled him up and arranged them until he had Zeke sitting in his lap. “Keep playing.” He placed a sleepy kiss on the back of Zeke’s neck.
Zeke grumbled, but he picked up the song again, leading into the part where the tempo sped up.
Felix closed his eyes and continued to kiss Zeke’s cold skin. Zeke obviously had some kind of emotional attachment to this particular song, he could feel that in the notes, and in the way Zeke played it with so much passion.
The tempo slowed again until the song ended. Zeke opened his eyes, complying as his face was turned so Felix could kiss him.
“Come on,” Felix said quietly. “Let’s go to bed.”

Black Ice Part 1 Chapter 8
It was late the next morning when Zeke woke up. Considering how high the sun was in the sky, he guessed that Felix had let him sleep in very late.
It wasn’t even all that disconcerting to wake up in Felix’s bed. He’d been surprised at first, but relaxed as soon as he saw the familiar duffle bag on the floor next to the closet.
He got up, stretching and then pulled on his clothes from the day before. He went out into the main room, feeling a little awkward and shy.
Felix was sitting on one of the bar stools at his kitchen island, writing on a piece of paper. He looked up when Zeke entered and smiled.
Zeke relaxed when he saw him and shyly went over to kiss him good morning.
“Did you sleep alright?” Felix asked, resting his hands on Zeke’s hips.
Zeke nodded. “Thanks for letting me sleep in.”
“I figured I owed you one, or two or three.” Felix grinned brightly at him, but there was something twitchy and nervous about him. “Do you want to shower? I can grab a towel for you.”
Zeke shrugged. “I have no clean clothes. I might as well wait until I get home.”
“Okay,” said Felix. “Let me just grab my bag and then we can get going.”
Zeke nodded, taking a seat on the other bar stool as Felix headed into the bedroom. He noticed the notebook still open in front of him.
[What’s it say?]
“I’m not looking!”
[Come on!]
Zeke quickly glanced at it to satisfy her and saw that it was a list; a budget list.
[What does that mean?]
“Like he’s keeping track of his finances I guess. How would I know?”
[Is he having money trouble?]
Zeke sighed and glanced at it again. He noticed that the math on the page didn’t add up.
“Why did you make me look at that? Now I know that he’s having money trouble!”
[How bad?]
“He can either pay his rent or he can pay his bills.”

Half an hour later they were in the truck on their way back to Lake Scugog. They were both incredibly quiet.
“Are you okay?” Felix asked him nervously as they turned onto the 407 highway.
Zeke nodded. He was just glad that he wasn’t freezing anything in the truck.
They lasted another ten minutes in silence before Felix said, “No, really, are you okay? Are you freaking out about staying at my place, because I thought it was too soon and I didn’t want to push you, but it’s just—I—I want you to be happy, Zeke.”
Zeke’s eyes widened. “I’m not freaking out, Fee. I’m just worried…” he didn’t want to have to admit that he’d looked at Felix’s private notes. Damn Shiva and her nosiness, it was wearing off on him…
“Did Shiva say something to you?”
Zeke noticed that Felix’s knuckles were white on the steering wheel and his left leg was shaking with nervous energy.
“Shiva?”
“Yeah, you know the incredibly adorable female personality that lives in your head? We talked last night.”
[He thinks I’m adorable? Awwwww.]
“What the heck were you talking to him about? And when was this?”
[After you fell asleep.] She said to him, before taking over and saying to Felix, “Don’t worry, sugar; I got you. Zeke and I are just worried about your money problems.” Then she retreated back into his head.
“SHIVA!”
Felix had swerved the truck a little as he said this.
“My money problems?” he asked, and then it dawned on him. “You looked at my scribbles?”
Zeke turned really red and started stammering about Shiva and her nosiness and her obsessive need to be on Team Zelix, whatever that meant.
“It’s okay,” sighed Felix, reaching over to squeeze Zeke’s hand. “You don’t have to be worried about my problems, Zee. Besides, I sorted them out.”
“You—you did?”
Felix nodded. “I have to work my ass off at Lou’s, but I got it sorted.”
Zeke seemed satisfied by this, but he didn’t want Felix to have to work more than he already did. Felix told him that he didn’t mind staying until close every night. Closings were his favourite. It just meant that he would end up wandering over to Zeke’s place around 3:00AM most nights, unless he decided to go back into the city.
“Why don’t you just get an apartment in Port Perry near Lou’s?”
“There aren’t many apartments available and I like being in the city. Plus there’s also the familiarity factor. Sure I don’t live in the same apartment, but I live on the same street that I lived on with my dad. I think you can understand that.”
Zeke nodded slowly. While his parents’ place was more space that he needed or could take care of, he wasn’t ready to let it go yet.
“Are we okay then?” asked Felix, still uneasy.
“Yeah,” said Zeke. Feeling a little bold, he unbuckled his seat belt and scooted over on the seat so he could sit right next to Felix.
Felix was surprised, but not even remotely disappointed. He took one hand off the wheel and wrapped it around Zeke’s shoulders.
He cast Zeke a glance out of the corner of his eye. With his thick black hair, creamy, pale and unblemished or unscarred skin and his beautiful eyes, Zeke was a thousand times more gorgeous than he’d ever realize. He was also very innocent and inexperienced and while he could be patient for the rest of his life with him, Felix often wondered what Zeke would do if he ever found out specific details about Felix’s past.
He tried incredibly hard to walk the straight and narrow, to be worthy of this amazing man sitting next to him, but he couldn’t change the past. He’d been promiscuous and selfish and full of self-loathing for most of his life. He’d been incredibly self-destructive after his father’s death. He’d even gone through a period of Robin Hood-type of vigilante-ness that he wasn’t sure if Zeke would approve of.
Zeke seemed to notice how rigid he was, deep in thought and worrying his ass off. Zeke tentatively reached over and put his hand on Felix’s thigh.
It was then that Felix decided that he was inexplicably falling for this beautiful man, despite how scared he was of his own shortcomings.
=-=-=-=-=
Finally the month of August gave way to September, and with it the warm weather slowly started to decline.
At first Zeke thought he would be miserable since it was getting colder, but instead he found that he could go outside in nothing but jeans and a t-shirt and he was just fine.
That’s what he was currently doing. He had gone outside to do some lawn work since he did have a huge property and some of the leaves and dead grass needed to be raked up. But he got tired half way through and just ended up lying down and watching the sky.
It was Sunday, so Felix was going to be over to hang out after he got up from his nap, which would be soon. They didn’t have anything in store really; Zeke was just planning on napping with Felix all day on the couch.
A leaf fell from the tree above him and landed on his face.
He grumbled and flicked it off.
[Why don’t you go tidy up the garage? I’m sure your lazy ass can handle that.]
“Whatever.” Zeke slowly got to his feet and made his way to the garage. When he opened the doors he immediately regretted his decision.
The place was a mess.
Old gardening tools were all over the floor, his old bike was in pieces all over the place, and every camping thing they had was everywhere.
Zeke backed away, not sure he wanted to venture into the mess.
[Pussy.]
“Fuck off.” He looked around once more before deeming the place unclean-able and making a break for it.
In his haste to get out of the garage he almost tripped over a ball lying on the ground. He picked it up, surprised to see his old basketball.
“I haven’t seen this in a while,” he put the ball under his arm and left the garage, locking the door behind him.
Once outside, he dribbled the ball on the pavement to see if it still had enough air. For a ball that had been in there for god only knew how many years, it was still pretty usable.
He ran around on the pavement that was outside of the garage, getting use to the feel of the ball. His father had built the small court for him when he saw that his son was so into the sport. The lines on the pavement were faded, but still visible.
He jumped and made a shot at the hoop that was still installed on the doors of the garage. It went in the hoop with no effort at all.
[Ooooh…so manly.]
“You can stop talking anytime now.” Zeke said as he went to retrieve the ball. He continued to dribble around the small court, dodging invisible opponents and shooting at the hoop.
He had forgotten how much fun this sport was.
That’s how Felix found him when he pulled into the driveway. Zeke was so focused on what he was doing, he didn’t even notice Felix until the tall man came to stand on the edge of the court.
Zeke shot the ball at the hoop one last time, and it went in the net easily.
Felix wouldn’t admit it out loud, but he was impressed.
As Zeke caught the ball and ran to the back of the court, he finally noticed Felix who was smirking at him. “Hey, Fee!” He shouted as he ran over to the taller man.
Felix almost couldn’t believe it when Zeke grabbed him and kissed him with a smile on his face the whole time. He should get his boyfriend to play sports more often.
“Didn’t you say you were going to do some fall cleaning before the snow came?” He asked the blue eyed man, whose smile slowly faded into a grimace.
“Yeah, well if you saw what I saw, you would have run away too.” Zeke balanced the basketball on the tip of his finger and spun it.
“All play and no work, huh?” Felix smirked and slapped the ball away from him. He gathered up the ball and started dribbling it down the small court. He had no idea what he was doing, but he had seen enough basketball clips on the internet to know the basics.
Zeke watched him, not making any comments when Felix took more than three steps without dribbling the ball, or when he shot at the hoop from the outside of the out of bounds line.
The ball bounced off the side of the hoop and as soon as the ball touched the ground Zeke grabbed it and Felix went on the offensive, trying to block Zeke’s way to the hoop. But Felix’s movements were sloppy at best, he may have been tall, but Zeke could easily out maneuver him.
He lunged to the right and Felix moved to stop him, but it was a fake. Zeke used his quick footing to dance to the opposite side, blowing past Felix and shooting for the hoop.
It was a beautiful three pointer; Zeke knew his high school coach would have wept.
He scooped the ball up and passed it to Felix who was giving him a dark look.
[I think someone is a sore loser.]
“This will be fun then.”
Felix dribbled the ball, not fumbling at all. Neither of them moved. Felix was glaring at Zeke trying to figure out how to get past him. Zeke smiled as Felix became more intense, they should have done something like this sooner.
Finally Felix ran for the hoop, trying to push his way past Zeke (without knocking him over of course). Zeke easily kept up with him and blocked any attempted Felix made to shoot for the hoop.
After a few more tries, Zeke decided to put Felix out of his misery and stole the ball from him, making a break for the hoop and scoring another three.
When he turned around he almost burst out loud at the look Felix was giving him. He looked pissed.
“Sorry, Fee. I guess basketball isn’t your sport.” Zeke tried not to sound too sarcastic to keep from riling the taller man up, but it was just so hard. Felix was good at everything he did; he even managed to get along with his cat.
It was refreshing to be better than him at something.
Zeke used his shirt to wipe some of the sweat off his face, “come on, I need a drink.” He picked the ball up off the ground and started heading back to the house.
He didn’t get far before Felix tackled him to the cold ground.
“What the hell,” Zeke mumbled into the grass. “That hurt, asshole.” He tried to turn around but Felix held him down.
“You’ll heal.”
Then Felix’s lips were on the back of his neck, kissing and nipping, leaving bruises. When Zeke tried to struggle again, Felix gripped him by his hair and tugged his head up roughly. This left his neck open and Felix took full advantage of it, sinking his teeth into the spot the Zeke liked.
Now with one hand free, Zeke pushed at Felix’s face with a growl. The taller man replied by biting him harder and Zeke had to bite back a moan.
[You guys need to just fuck already.]
Zeke ignored her as Felix turned his head and kissed him, his teeth biting into Zeke’s cold lips hard enough to draw blood. The other hand that was pinning him moved to slip under his shirt and trail up his stomach.
“Asshole!” Zeke finally gathered enough strength to flip them over, but Felix fought back. They ended up rolling around the yard, neither one giving up the dominant position.
Finally, using strength he didn’t know he had, Zeke rolled on top of Felix and pinned him to the ground. He used one hand to keep Felix’s two still while he used his free hand to wipe away the blood on his face.
The ice had already frozen over the cut, but it still hurt.
“What the hell.”
Felix was smiling up at him, looking proud of himself. “Don’t look so shocked. I know you enjoyed it. Or is that a stick poking me?”
Zeke gave him a confused look before finally clueing in to what he was saying. His face turned red and he jumped off him, running back into the house and locking the door behind him.
Felix laughed so hard he almost fell on his face while he was trying to stand up. He jogged over to the door and knocked a few times, “Come on, Zanders. Let me in.”
“Suck my cock, Motherfucker.” Zeke’s voice was muffled through the door.
“Let me in and I’ll see to it.”
[You two were made for each other.]
=-=-=-=-=
Felix didn’t want to accept it, but it was starting to get cold out.
Zeke didn’t seem bothered in the slightest by the temperature change; in fact he seemed to thrive in it.
When Felix had started wearing sweaters to keep warm, Zeke walked around in t-shirts and jeans all the time, not shivering or complaining about the cold once.
It was against his better judgement when he asked Zeke if he wanted to take a day trip and go camping somewhere close by.
He only asked because he knew that there would be less people this time of year, which meant that Zeke wouldn’t be as stressed.
Zeke still looked at him like he was crazy though, and Felix wasn’t sure if it was because of the camping thing or because of the temperature outside.
“Come on, it will be fun, I promise.” Felix had pulled the blue eyed man onto his lap while they were sitting on the couch. He knew Zeke would be more inclined to give in if he was feeling awkward.
“But it’s so cold out,” Zeke spoke quietly.
“Yeah, like it’s bothering you.” Felix grinned and brushed his warm fingers under the back of his boyfriends t-shirt. The difference in their temperatures always amazed him, it was still shocking to touch Zeke at times, but it was becoming addictive.
Zeke groaned and moved closer to him as his warm hands started traveling up his spine, rubbing and warming his cold skin. “But what if it’s too cold for you?” He asked.
“I’ll manage, we’ll bring a sleeping bag or something, I’m sure you have camping gear hidden in that garage of yours.” Felix moved his hands lower now so that they traced the hem of Zeke’s jeans, threatening to go lower.
“I do actually, but it’s pretty old.” When the warm hands finally slipped into the back of his jeans to grope at his ass he moaned and kissed Felix in return.
“We’ll use blankets then, and we’ll sleep in the back of my truck,” Felix’s eyes were dark now. He had to be careful or he was going to end up getting distracted by the beautiful man in front of him.
“Camping is for straight people you know that right?”
Felix gave him a look and Zeke gasped and slapped a hand over his mouth. “Sorry, that was Shiva.”
Felix rolled his eyes at the two of them. “Come on, we can make out beside the fire and watch the stars.”
“And have truck sex?” Zeke said in a high pitch once again.
His face quickly turned red and he covered it with his hand. “Sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong with her today.”
“Just agree, Zanders, and then we won’t have to sit here and have this discussion anymore.” Felix grabbed Zeke’s ass a little harder, laughing to himself when Zeke whimpered pathetically.
“Fine, but if I get eaten by a bear—“
“In what world would you ever get eaten by a bear?” Felix pulled his hands out of Zeke’s pants and smacked him on the ass. “And it’s only for one night, there’s no reason to get your panties in a twist.”
“I don’t have panties,” Zeke replied grumpily.
[Sometimes I wish I could pinch your cheeks.]
“You go away somewhere.”
Zeke was distracted from the conversation so he didn’t get a chance to move before Felix was lifting him up into the air and carrying him through the house.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Zeke struggled to get out of his hold but it was futile. Felix was strong and he was just too lazy to struggle much.
“I’m getting you motivated to go, it should only take maybe thirty minutes to get enough stuff for one night, but I know you’ll prolong it to an hour. I figure if I help you move faster, maybe give you a few taps on the ass we’ll get out of here before noon.” Felix had to shield his face in Zeke’s chest when the smaller man started hitting him.
“I hate you,” Zeke grumbled and pulled on Felix’s hair, not too nicely.
“Keep talking like that, Zanders, and you might get your wish and I’ll stay here and spend the next few hours ravishing you.”
“I’d like to see you try,” Zeke replied. He almost toppled right out of Felix’s arms when the man suddenly started racing up the stairs laughing like a fool the whole time.
As soon as they reached Zeke’s room, Felix deposited him on the bed and stood over him with his hands on his hips. “Get ready.”
With one final sigh of irritation, Zeke untangled himself from the bed and went to work on gathering things that he thought they would need. Felix said it would only be one night so he wasn’t concerned about packing a change of clothes or anything.
He grabbed his toothbrush and something to sleep in before moving back to the room to gather as many blankets as he could.
“You should go grab some food out of the fridge,” he said to Felix who was making a valiant effort to get in his way.
“Fine, you have ten minutes and your butt better be in the truck.” Felix pinched his ass on the way out of the room.
Zeke glared at him until he was out of sight before gathering the rest of the blankets and heading down stairs. He didn’t figure he would be cold, but Felix was another thing. The guy was already walking around in sweater while Zeke was still in T-shirts.
Maybe he was just getting used to being cold all the time.
By the time Felix had gathered enough food; Zeke had already assembled the massive amounts of blankets and thrown them in the back.
Felix opened the truck door and shoved the food in the back as well. “Are you ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Zeke muttered. He rolled down the window as Felix started the truck. He was determined to get a nap in on the way there, that way he wouldn’t feel the need to go to bed so early later on.
He knew he only had his eyes closed for a few seconds before Felix was grabbing at the sleeve of his t –shirt.
“What?” He asked groggily.
Felix said nothing and unbuckled Zeke’s seatbelt so he could drag him over. He positioned him so that Zeke was laying his head on his lap.
“Won’t I die if we get into a car accident?”
Felix snorted loudly. “Really? You think I would let my truck go through something like that?”
When Zeke poked him in the stomach Felix laughed.
“I’m sorry; I would be pretty upset if you got hurt too, so just lay back and relax, I got you.”
Zeke muttered something nasty under his breath and closed his eyes. It wasn’t long before Felix started running his warm fingers though his hair, the feeling lulling him to sleep.
He wasn’t sure how long he slept but it was the sound of the engine turning off that woke him up from his nap.
Zeke lifted his head up and looked around until his eyes met Felix’s above him. The man was smiling down at him with a kind of childish glee and excitement.
“I take it we’re here?” Zeke asked him, still a bit miffed about the whole ordeal.
“Yeah,” Felix trailed off for a second as he gathered his thoughts. “We almost didn’t get here. Apparently no one is out camping in these parts anymore and all the good places are shutdown. I had to improvise.”
“Improvise?” Zeke carefully got up and looked outside, scared at what he might see.
Woods, woods and more woods. With a hint of a river close by.
Zeke could hear the water already from inside the silence of the truck.
“So when you say you improvised…”
“I mean I found a dirt road off the main road and followed it until I couldn’t find civilization anymore.” Felix grinned at him and unbuckled his seatbelt so he could get out of the truck.
Zeke followed him, grabbing his sweater on the way out just to keep the chill off.
As expected, it wasn’t cold for him at all, but he could see Felix’s breath in the air as the man moved around to do… whatever he was doing.
“What are you doing?” Zeke finally asked him as he watched his boyfriend scuffle around his vehicle.
Felix was unlatching some kind of hook on the back, growling when it turned out to be more stubborn than planned.
“I told you we are going to spend a romantic night lying in the back of my truck watching the stars.” Finally the latch broke free and he made a triumphant sound before moving onto the next one.
Zeke left him to do… whatever the hell he was doing and went to start the fire before they both froze.
[Hey, go back, I was watching him.]
“Watching him do what?”
[Dear lord, tell me you caught onto the flexing biceps that man has. And the way he worked that latch. Hot damn.]
“You’re fucked.”
“Zeke, I can hear you talking to yourself!” Felix called over to him.
“Suck my cock, Motherfucker.”
“Maybe if you cook me a good meal,” Felix replied with that same stupid grin still on his face.
Zeke rolled his eyes in response and returned to the task of finding firewood for the fire.
Luckily it hadn’t rained in a while so most of the wood in the area was dry. He gathered up as much as he needed to get things started and then returned to their spot.
He had the fire going in minutes while Felix was still struggling with his truck. He even had time to go find more firewood before he heard Felix calling out to him.
“Coming!”
[Yeah, hopefully.]
“You disgust me.”
He barely had time to throw his gathered firewood down by the fire before Felix was dragging him off toward the truck.
Zeke allowed him to, seeing as the guy was so damn happy. When they reached the back of the truck Zeke was surprised to see the bed of it made into a blanket nest worthy of any luxury hotel. He even managed to find a bug tent somewhere, and it was set up to cover the entire back of the truck, protecting them from the nasty bastards.
“What do you think?” Felix asked him after he fell silent for a few seconds.
“It looks…comfy.” Zeke responded with as much enthusiasm as he could.
Which wasn’t much.
Felix opened the net and picked him up and set him on the blankets. “Maybe we should test it out.” He pulled Zeke’s sneakers off without waiting for permission and then climbed on top of him.
“Move back, the middle is the best spot,” Felix said as he scrambled after a blushing Zeke.
Once they were centered and comfortable and the tent was closed securely behind them Felix leaned over his captive, eyeing him with a dark look in his eyes.
“You have no idea just how beautiful you are, do you, Zanders?” Felix kissed him gently, moving from Zeke’s lips and trailing kisses own his neck.
“Ahh…I’m a man, so people really don’t tell me I’m beautiful,” Zeke replied with half a groan as Felix continued to kiss and nip on his sensitive neck.
“Well you are,” Felix pulled Zeke’s shirt up so he could pay the same attention to his nipples. “You’re beautiful and you’re mine.” He returned to his lips and kissed him furiously, working the flesh of his lips between his teeth.
He didn’t bite down hard enough to draw blood, he was trying to be romantic after all, but Zeke made a frustrated noise in the back of his throat and pulled away.
“What?” Felix asked him.
“Stop treating me like glass, Foley. I’m not going to break.” Zeke tried to push himself up into a sitting position but Felix slammed him back down.
“If you insist,” he kissed him harder this time, thrusting his tongue into Zeke’s mouth and biting hard enough to draw blood. His hands traveled down and grabbed onto Zeke’s ass, gripping it roughly.
Zeke let out a wanton moan at the rough treatment, thrusting his hips upward into Felix’s already hardening dick.
He wasn’t going to be able to hold himself back much longer.
Zeke was going to drive him crazy.
“Hold on, Blue Eyes,” Felix’s breath was shaky as he pulled away. Half of him wanted to continue and just go as far as Zeke would let him. The other half wanted him to wait; he needed to wait for the right time, for Zeke’s sake.
Zeke looked up at him, his eyes half lidded and dark with arousal and lips swollen from their kissing.
Felix was momentarily distracted by the site of ice freezing over the cut on his upper lip before going back to what he was saying. “I didn’t bring you out here for that; I just wanted to get away from that…house for a while.”
“You don’t want to?” Zeke looked dejected now.
Felix cursed under his breath and leaned down to kiss the blue eyed man. “Trust me, Zeke, I do want to. But I want to wait until you’re ready. You’re running the show here.”
The nervous blush was back. Zeke turned away from him, unable to meet his eyes.
“See? Like I said, I can wait; I’ll wait forever if I have to.” Felix pressed his lips against Zeke’s burning cheek and smiled.
“I’m sorry,” he heard Zeke mumble under his breath.
“Don’t worry about it,” Felix got up and pulled a still blushing Zeke up with him. “Let’s go make something to eat, I’m starving.”
As it turned out, Zeke was starving as well.
Felix had watched the man eat before, and he had always been impressed by just how much he could devour in one setting.
But this was starting to get ridiculous.
Zeke ate four burgers, five hotdogs and went through two bags of marshmallows before Felix finally decided to stop him.
“Isn’t your stomach going to explode?” Felix asked as he nibbled on his second burger.
Zeke shrugged and stuck his stick into the fire. He was shivering again, Felix didn’t miss that part.
“I don’t feel full.”
“Hmm…” Felix took another bite. “It might have something to do with your powers; maybe you have a higher metabolism than you did before.”
“Well whatever it is, I’m getting tired of it. I hate being hungry all the time.” Zeke stole the hotdog off of Felix’s plate and moved away before he could take it back.
Felix just shook his head and let him have it. There was no point; the hotdog would be gone before he could retrieve it from his stubborn boyfriend anyway.
After they were well fed Zeke went back to the truck to relax and Felix was quick to follow him. The sun was already setting at that point, since it had taken them longer than originally planned to find a camping spot.
Felix didn’t care though, he pulled Zeke close until the colder man was laying his head on his chest and he looked up at the sky.
The stars started to appear, one by one as it got darker and Felix started naming off constellations.
“There’s the big dipper.” Felix said, pointing up to the stars.
Zeke looked up and easily found it. “Yeah, and Scorpius is there too.”
“Where?” Felix looked around but he couldn’t spot the constellation Zeke was talking about.
“Right there,” Zeke leaned closer to he could show Felix where it was. “And Orion will be in the skies during the summer. They continually chase each other through the skies throughout the hemispheres as the season change.”
“Okay, smarty pants,” Felix narrowed his eyes at the sky. “What are some other ones?”
Zeke sighed like he was about to do something strenuous. “Sagittarius is up there, it looks like a kettle, and Libra and Draco are there as well. Virgo is too, she’s to the upper right of Libra—“
“The virgin?”
“Huh?” Zeke turned his attention from the sky to look at Felix.
“Virgo,” Felix grinned. “Isn’t she the virgin?”
“Are you going somewhere with this?” Zeke’s voice was dangerously low.
Felix decided to quit while he was ahead, before he ended up sleeping alone. “Never mind, carry on, wife.”
Zeke scrunched up his nose in irritation and went back to naming off the stars and constellations he knew.
Felix listened attentively. He knew Zeke was smart but he had no idea just how intelligent he was. Memorizing every star and constellation, plus ever story behind each one seemed like a lot of work.
“I like it when you teach me things,” Felix said quietly.
Zeke just laughed lightly in return. “Go to sleep, Foley, you’re drifting off on me.”
Felix groaned and turned onto his side, bringing Zeke closer to him so he could steal all the warmth he had.
Even though he was freezing and it was extremely creepy to be there alone in the woods with no hint of civilization around, he felt happy to be with Zeke.
And the next day when they made their way back home and Felix had contracted a chill, Zeke was nice enough to not say, ‘I told you so’.”
