Kremze
Our first stop is Kremze, a town that the 104th IR liberated in May 1945. This is the memorial on the road out of Kremze to the Yankee Division.
Steve Kantor, who served in the 104th, lays a wreath.
Afterwards we take pictures of all the veterans on the trip.
Then we head to the town hall for refreshments. The mayor has stayed up all night making us "zelnaky" -- Czech crackers made with sauerkraut and caraway seeds. Our guide, Syvla, teaches me how to say "very good" in Czech, which despite practicing, I completely butcher in front of the mayor.
