Surf Rock Is Dead - "Zen A"

New York-based duo Surf Rock Is Dead‘s name suggests the passing of the tom-tom laden, Fender Jaguar tintinnabulation of surf rock. In it’s place? The duo’s newest contemplative, soft, and reflective song “Zen A”. Shoegaze is still alive and well, based on the atmospheric guitars and sweet vocals floating throughout the tune. Riff heavy and in no shortage of hi-hat, “Zen A” stands out to me, a new personal favorite, ripe with promise of Surf Rock Is Dead’s bigger and brighter future.
