my  part  .  .  .  and  what  exactly  was  this  oh-so  important  part?  what  was  any  of  their  parts?  other  than  some  faux-given  role  that  they  all  have  to  accept.  something  they  have  to  adhere  to.  there  was  no  part  that  any  of  them  had  to  follow,  but  they  all  acted  like  there  was.  roy,  most  of  all,  even  in  spite  of  his  own  better  judgement.  maybe  that's  what  left  him  confused  more  than  anything  else.  nothing  ever  made  sense.  i  tried  my  utmost  to  pretend  like  i  didn't  need  her  help,  but  .  .  .  something  told  me  that  doing  this  alone  would  not  be  my  wisest  ever  decision.  not  exactly  the  most  informant  scale,  of  course.

the excitement on her face as she shared her little factoid with him was so adorable. if there hadn’t already been enough reason to fall in love with lonnie, seeing her so excitable, so giddy over something so small would certainly provide him with enough reason to do so. he mirrors her smile almost immediately and greets her with a nod as he looks up from the chair that decorated his bedroom.

                     “   ON   ME?   ”   the   expression   on   his   face   was   completely   puzzled.   unless   roy   met   them   personally,   it   was   quite   rare   for   people   to   know   of   his   existence.   he’d   been   part   of   partnerships   and   teams   that   were   well-known,   but   he   was   always   the   one   that   no   one   ever   noticed.   the   one   that   there   wasn’t   much   attention   towards.   forgotten   or   never   even   acknowledged.   unless,   of   course,   there   was   something   negative   to   be   said   when   he   messed   --   or   even   when   he   hadn’t.   he   had   his   own   experience   with   media   and   the   press,   especially   in   his   prelapsarian   days.   some   of   it   was   okay,   most   of   it   was   not.   still,   he   was   always   surprised   to   find   out   someone   even   knew   of   him.   “   you   sure   you   have   the   right   guy?   you   must   have   me   mixed   up   with   nightwing.   ”

   Besides the lack of usual strength, something she was still getting used to, her aim was as good as always, making quick work of the thug attempting to SNEAK UP on the other young hero. It wasn’t often that Donna ran into someone she didn’t know yet, with so many contacts in the community and more than a decade of experience in crime fighting, it especially didn’t happen often anymore that she meet a new face out in the open like this. Usually they tended to be stuck on a team with her, under her guidance, before hitting the field by themselves. Not this one though. It seemed like she could HANLDE this, regardless, Donna lended a hand with the rest of the group trying to ... set a local park on fire? In broad daylight, no less — idiots.

    “ On your right! ”, she shouted, not even thinking about it while she does it. It came so natural to her to have her team mates’ back, even if she had never met the other before. There was a certain bond between vigilantes and for Donna personally, between warriors and she HONOURED such a bond.
