3. What was your big “Wow” or “Oh Shit” moment in Mass Effect? Approaching the Citadel? Seeing Sovereign take off on Eden Prime? Something else entirely?I actually completely missed seeing Sovereign on Eden Prime until like my 3rd playthrough ( I have terrible spacial awareness in games so I was like ?? what? where do they want me to look?)But the moment that I can still remember is when you speak to Sovereign for the first time, and you find out that Saren is just a puppet and the enemy’s game is wayyy bigger than you thought.
…And then when I realized the game was actually, seriously, forcing me to choose who lived between Kaidan and Ashley. My dad came into my room to find me crying at 6am and was like “???? go to sleep”
4. Between Therum, Noveria, and Feros, which one do you do first and why?Feros first. My first playthrough I chose there first because that seemed the most Paragon thing to do. Rescuing colonists is a higher priority than interrogating Benezia’s daughter. Plus I like Olivia meeting Shiala before things get too far with Kaidan.
I’ve mentioned it before but I was so suspicious of Liara my first playthrough. I thought she might be in league with her mother. Why was Ashley the only one who validated me D: We just brought her onto the ship??? Guys????
5. What’s the most embarrassing mistake you’ve made in this game?Trying to think of a mistake that was embarrassing and not painful. OH. In ME3, when Sam came up to my room I was like “Yeah sure, totally use my shower! No big deal, buddy! It’s really not fair that I’m the only one who gets to use a real shower, use it any time you—-oOOOOH she’s hitting on me.”
6. What’s your favourite moment of the game?
Oh man. So many. Probably biased a little because Miranda, but the Horizon mission in ME3 stands out to me, and especially the ending scene with Miranda and her family. Emotionally and timing-wise they landed it so well. The building horror of “Oh my god, what happened here,” the tension of rushing to reach Miranda in time, and that final confrontation with her dad. I love that no matter what you do, Miranda has come to shove him through that fucking window, and that’s what she does. Almost a bookend to how you meet her when she shoots Wilson in the face because that’s the best way to contain that problem.
Oh shit though. I want to change my answer to Miranda’s goodbye when she’s romanced. All that time of them being realistic, “no promises,” and then they take it back and just let themselves hope.
“Finish this Shepard. And find me.”“I promise.”
