I love that they can see each other sometimes when the other is fronting (some DID systems can see hallucinations of their alters)
Yugioh is far from perfect:
For as much as I love Bakura and Marik, I think they're incredibly problematic when viewed through the lens of DID (which is, of course, as optional as viewing Yugi and Yami through that lens) - but any positive representation is important for people with DID to feel seen and for those without it to understand the experience better and fight misconceptions.
DID is neither scary, nor a cool, fun, or enviable experience.
When I started dating a system, an important adult in my life and one of my childhood best friends felt safe enough to come out to me as systems. Since then I've met three more systems in college. It's highly likely you have a system in your life and don't know it. I also recommend Shallan from the Stormlight Archive for good representation in fiction and highly recommend that people educate themselves on the disorder.
