🙏 - Possession //Zephyrus!
Zephyrus: Thank you Mrs. Irving, please come again!
*The rune crafter smiles cheerfully, waving goodbye to an elderly woman now clutching her mended staff. She pauses before leaving, turning to raise an eyebrow at the blue-eyed mage.*
Irving: ...What are you playing at, young man?
Zephyrus: Whatever do you mean?
*He tilts his head innocently, a strange glint in his eyes. The old woman scowls, approaching the man while she brandishes her staff at his chest.*
Irving: You're acting polite, that's what! And people around these parts, young or old, we all know that Zephyrus Yuen is anything but nice!
...Your eyes have changed too.
*The rounded end of her weapon jabs at the suspicious mage, causing him to take a step back.*
It's giving me the creeps! So you best have an explanation for this!
Zephyrus: *The man nods in understanding, keeping his composure as he crosses his arms in thought.*
Ah, so that's it...Do not fear, Mrs. Irving! I'm sure this will answer your questions?
*With a gentle wave of his hand, a brilliant blue soul appears in front of Zephyrus' chest, causing the old woman to gasp in surprise.*
Irving: I don't believe it...! A soul change!? You!? And to Integrity of all things!?
Zephyrus: *His grin widens as the soul promptly vanishes from sight.*
Yup! You are absolutely correct, Mrs. Irving!
*The rune crafter's smile fades, a sad frown taking its place.*
You see, I realize that I have been absolutely horrible to...Well...Everyone! I took some time to reflect on my poor behaviour, and I've made up my mind! I refuse to live such a hurtful existence any longer! That's when my soul began to change virtue.
Irving: Well...I...That's...Good! Very good! But I must be on my way now- Much to do at home! I think I left the stove on-
*She shakes her head, snapping out of her frozen state of disbelief. The woman mumbles to herself as she begins to walk away at a quick pace, eager to escape the shocking situation.*
Zephyrus Yuen...An INTEGRITY soul! My word, I must be dreaming...
*With another warm smile and a wave of his hand, the rune crafter hastily heads back inside his workshop. He slams the door shut behind him, and stumbles into the dark dusty room. With trembling hands, the man reaches for a chunk of stone sitting on his desk. He pauses, squeezing the ore tightly, before suddenly whipping around and hurling the object straight into the mirror behind him.*
Zephyrus: ....Ah...Haha...Now why did you do that? You broke the mirror, Zephyrus. Look at it, it’s all cracked now...
*The mage’s eyes flash a malevolent purple as he stumbles, nearly collapsing against the mirror.*
Zephyrus: ….Get….Out…! GET OUT OF MY HEAD…!! You...DAMNED...!
*He growls, snarling like a wild beast as his soul pulses wildly in front of him. A deep blue soul. With a smaller purple one hidden within it. The possessed mage closes his eyes for a moment, his iris’ changing colour once more as they open.*
Zephyrus: .....I can’t do that, Zephyrus. Not with how you’ve been behaving in this timeline.
*The rune crafter sighs and straightens his back, gazing into the cracked mirror with a calm smile.*
...I hated lying to that poor lady, you know. But I suppose now that I think about it...It was more of a half truth.
...Yes, that’s right. You’ve been truly despicable here, haven’t you? I just couldn’t stand it. Watching you cause so much disaster and misfortune around you...It drove me insane.
So until you straighten out your life a bit, I’m afraid I won’t be leaving anytime soon, Zephyrus.
*The Integrity soul chuckles at his reflection, at the image of the scrawny body he was possessing. It was a thin form in tattered robes, but the face was not unfamiliar in the slightest.*
We should probably pick new nicknames for the both of us.
After all, having two Zephyrus’ around is simply one too many.
