Sakura entered the changing rooms with lockers for woman grabbing a paper towel out of the dispenser on the way to her locker wiping her forehead off which was covered in sweat. She sat down on the narrow hard bench in front of her locker taking a moment to think and take in all that she had done. She saw him. Saitama, who had accelerated each and every physical test with strength and speed that surpassed her own. She wasn’t even close enough, but close as she could be. Being the only girl at the hero exams that day, she was frowned upon, as if a woman could not be a hero and that it was only a male thing. “As if…I am a strong independent woman, I’ll show these chumps just how great a woman can be.” But now, she was questioning if she was worthy enough and would even make it.
But with the way Saitama managed to get through the whole thing with out breaking a sweat, made her feel as if she wasn’t good enough for this. Sakura sighed opening her locker and changing into her hero attire pulling the gloves on tightly clenching her fists. She knew exactly what she would do.
“I’ll ask him to train me!” She thought confidently. While lost in her deepest thoughts, a knock came on the side of the lockers, as a woman with glasses handed her a gold envelope with her results in them “Here you go Ms.Haruno.” Sakura took the envelope from her nodding. The woman took her leave, leaving Sakura in the room all alone. “I’m too scared to open this…what if I failed…” her heart started racing in her chest as she drew in a deep breath. She tore open the golden card stock revealing a white paper underneath which had been printed freshly not too long ago, for it was still a bit warm. Her green eyes grew huge. She was ranked a B class hero! A smile curled onto her lips. “Yes! I did it! All I gotta do from here is work my way to a S class!” Sakura grabbed her bag off the bench shoving the paper back into the ripped envelope and into her bag. She rushed out trying to find Saitama before he left, seeing him already down the pathway, she ran out to him. “Hey Bald man!” she yelled at him knowing that would catch his attention.
Saitama turned around with the same derpy look to his face as usual. He noticed the pinkette calling out to him. “Weren’t you the only girl at the exams today?” He asked. Sakura stopped a few steps away from him. “Yes, I was, I have something to ask of you--.” He cut her off, “Did you make it?” Sakura stopped short before nodding. “Yes, I did, I am ranked as a B class hero.” Her green eyes examined her face before he sighed. “I only made it as a C with 71 points since I completely flunked the written essay.”
Sakura giggled a little. “I passed that with a 100.” “A-any way, earlier today I came to a realization about something, I may be strong and smart, and capable of being a superhero, but...I also saw I need more training and need to advance more, so I can be pushed up to a S class hero. So, I want to know if you will or would be willing to...train me and help me become stronger like you!” She blurted out her face a bit red from embarrassment. Saitama looked at her. Genos had already asked him for his help but since he was already an S class, he knew Genos would be a bit more busy with more hero stuff then him, who wouldn’t be treated as greatly as him. “Well, I already agreed to work with some one else.” He started.
Sakura seemed a bit taken by shock, her facial expression revealed that all too well. “I-I see. Sorry to have bothered you then.” She said trying to swallow what she thought was rejection. Saitama sighed. “But, he is an S class hero as I am not, I am a C class and you are a B class, we are not too far in ranks, literally next to each other, and I think since Genos will be treated more better and busy more often then I am, I can train with you, and we can stregthen together and make it to S class together.” He finished. The glow in Sakura’s green eyes increased as excitement overtook her. “Oh my goodness...this is...this is amazing, thank you so much Sensi!” She bowed over to show her appreciation, and respect. When she bowed over little did she know that her journal fell out of her bag, which she forgot to zip up while she was in a hurry earlier to catch up to Saitama. It was titled “Sakura’s Personal Guide to Cooking Recipes and More.” Written on the front in her own hand writing.
Saitama took quick notice of this.”If you are willing I’d like to taste some of your recipes.” He said. Sakura’s eyes grew big looking at the left of her seeing the journal. Quickly reaching out to pick it up and stand back up, she held it close to her chest. “These aren’t really mine, they are or were my mothers...she was a really good cook and people loved her food.” She seemed sad mentioning her mother the wind softly blowing her light pink hair she displayed a sad look in her eyes. Saitama felt something leap in his chest. “But, I would be glad to cook anything out of here for you, Sensi.” She looked back at him forcing a smile on her face.
He looked at her something moved in him again, shaking the feeling off for the moment “Well, then that sounds good.” He smiled lightly. “Come by my place tommorow afternoon that’s when I start my first training session with Genos and now you too, why don’t you bring the book too, I am sure there is some really good things in there to choose for lunch.” Sakura looked at him amused. “W-why yes! There is a whole section for lunch in here too.” She said looking down at the book smiling softly. Saitama smiled back again at her before telling her where he lived. “Come dressed ready to fight and don’t show up late!” He called out to her before leaving with a wave. “I won’t!” Sakura chimed happily waving back.
As Saitama walked the road home, his mind began spinning about Sakura and the Hero Exams as well as the book she held. “I really hope it was right of me to suggest we make a meal out of that...I kinda feel bad...I can’t imagine what she went through and who she is.” He thought to himself before stopping for a second to take a glimpse of the setting sun. He saw from the corner of his eyes Sakura was catching up heading home herself, gripping the notebook tightly.
“Hey, Sakura...wanna grab dinner at a great Chinese place I like? It’s a cheaper lower place, but I hope it’ll be an okay place for you.” He said. Sakura stopped in her tracks once again. “U-uh sure! I’d love to and I am not picky at all with food, Sensi.” She smiled kindly. She put the book back before pulling out a mint green sweatshirt from her bag placing the bag down to slip it over her head. It had a purple S on the front with light pink flowers sprouting out from the tips of the S. She zipped her bag up securing it over her shoulder before nodding at Saitama to lead the way. “Oh...and Sakura...you don’t have to call me Senis when we are not training just call me by my name, Saitama.” Sakura nodded “Alright, Saitama.” She smiled at him, causing him to smile back.
