So the opening is subject to change because I wrote it very light-heartedly and then I wrote a sadder ending and I'm gonna have to connect them somehow, but I Do like this so far

Someday, I am going to take a job that goes perfectly. I won't have to deal with corporations. No one will shoot at one of my humans. I will not stumble across alien remnants. There will be no weird portal thing or time travel or whatever the hell this is. I will not get into a debate with an entity about whether or not it is an alien, or I am, or if either of us being built by humans superseeds that question. And ART will not take over the debate from me because it thought of an argument that I hadn't used yet and it absolutely had to win this argument right now.

In all fairness, ART was probably better suited for this argument. I really didn't care if this AI was alien or not. I didn't care about the Theseus paradox, and how had the two of them gotten onto that subject anyways? At the moment, I wanted this SAYER to go away.

I had never encountered this show before you started liveblogging it and not that the other reasons to watch it hurt but I was sold the moment you started commenting on it incorporating the history of Hangul

no wait it gets better!! it doesn’t just incorporate the history of hangul--the creation of hangul by king sejong (incl. the process of creating it, the politics of instating it, and the way it actually and thematically shaped the personal arcs of several key characters) is what the ENTIRE story is centered on!!! ruth you in particular would LOVE this show

@zeromorph see that’s what i’d thought was happening too but when i first started noticing it happening a year ago and mentioned it to my psych, after he told me to clear it with my medical specialists, he went “well you know studies show depressive symptoms are reduced for every pound of weight lost” and i was just “... : ) o kay.”

other that that he’s been a good psych but at that moment i kind of wanted to strangle him.

12: are you superstitious? are there any you take part in? (for example, not walking under ladders or opening umbrellas inside).

I'm not so much superstitious as I am OCD. By which I mean, I try not to obey superstitions because last time, I got into wishing on things and then Could Not Stop. I wished on dandelions and then became convinced I hadn't blown them right. Wished on stars and panicked that I had seen a difference star first. Wished on times and then started wishing on numbers and then started obsessively dividing numbers by 3 and 9.

I like talking about my OCD now that it is firmly under control, because a lot of people don't seem to understand how OCD works. It's not about making things neat. It's about knowing that no one else panics when they can't obey a superstition and not being able to stop anyways. It's about your mind repeating horrible thoughts to you until you'll follow any ritual to make them shut up. It's about knowing that this is weird and bad and unhealthy but it just hurts too much to stop.

Sorry to take that in a really different direction.

13: have you ever bought a haunted item? what experiences came along with it?

I don't think I've bought anything sold as a haunted item, but I've definitely bought some stuff that should have been sold as haunted. There's this mini dresser, like a jewelry box fashioned to look like a dresser that I got at an estate sale. And when I first opened it, there was uh. Something. In there. Maybe a dead something, maybe just a really horrific mold problem, but it was Disgusting. And also the knots on the side of it looked like a face with an open mouth, which is why I had bought it in the first place.

also i actually feel like i've been playing this game for a pretty long time now??? just it's been in v slow small chunks until like yesterday bc it took me a while to get invested in the story tbh
