I think it was mentioned before but our 1x1x1x1 is not created by Telamon but is in a messed up way.. him? Amends Telamon is a very distrusting, stonewalled person and so he thought that the only way he could have someone to rely on was to have a mirror of himself made. He asked for the favour under the ruse of "an equal (in fighting)" or moreso a worthy rival.
Truly, 1x1x1x1 is nothing but a copy of his mind that has no memories or identity other than an overpowering urge to fight. As they arrive into the Heights, they do not stop to question their purpose, the moment they pick up the sword it comes to them like second nature, cutting down the common opponent like grass- but.. intuition is nowhere near enough to defeat the Champion.
Their earliest memory is a feeling that Telamon had long forgotten by that point- failure. It stings, they don't want to accept it in the slightest, but at the same time it motivates them to try again, try harder, accept their faults and be better. Again. And again.. and again... This was the first building block in 1x1x1x1's identity and the most obvious thing that set them apart from Telamon:
They learned how to adapt, something that would later on help them survive probably the worst place that a Robloxian can be in- The Banlands (queue thunder sound effect)
Armed with the Venomshank that was pierced through them and never retrieved, they quickly became a terror to behold, as before, they kept their violent impulses in check, now they saw no point in it. Robloxia wanted an evil to blame? So be it.
They got most of their clothes and food from corpses they looted during this early period, and when they couldn't find any corpses, they would make some. They still cared about their appearance at this point, trying to protect their hair from the elements and keeping parts of their body that had started to decay well hidden from the eyes of others. Hygiene was probably the worst part, but since they're covered in feathers dust baths would more or less suffice..
The decay that 1x1x1x1 undergoes comes from two different factors- the wound from the Venomshank which gives them their iconic green jelly torso, as their organs get liquified as if a spider bit them :3 and from the environment, whose toxicity is worsened by a certain entity that had come to live there as well (no spoilers). The environment factor affects mostly the extremities, especially those that come into contact with the ground most often and is manifested by a darkening of tissues both on the surface of, and deeper into the flesh, followed by death of the cells that made up said tissues.
This eventually causes the current look that 1x1x1x1 has, their legs having their bones exposed up to the knees, most of their hair and feathers in certain areas having fallen out, along with them losing their entire tail and back wings.
The areas where flesh falls off are already numb before this happens so the pain of the decay is mostly psychological, especially for someone who used to be beautiful and proud, now forced to hide under dusty cloaks and bandages they fashioned from their own ripped clothes.
My design illustrates the beginning of the end as one might put it.. they've yet to lose much but they are in for it very soon. Still, this is before the peak of their reign of terror so they'll gain a lot more aura before losing it all in a blaze of.. what's the opposite of glory? Mmm no spoilers. Muahahahha.
Don't have much else to add other than this, still, if there are questions don't be shy to ask because I quite enjoy the interest! My yap on their similarities to Telamon and how they found an identity before being stripped of it once again when they were banned would have gone on for a lot longer but I don't think this is the post for that... They eventually find their commonly represented identity in the Banlands also- yk.. the evil 1x1x1x1.. but they lose that too eventually. It's a neverending cycle for the poor thing :/

I had been working on this drawing for a WHILE... As u may or may not know. Didn't finish it recently, actually I technically didn't finish it still, but I had submitted this version as a classwork more than a month back and I do not feel motivated to add burnt candles in. Lazy. I know.
I was hit with the ingenious idea of hmmm what if.. what if Piratemon.. and past 1x1x1x1.. but like those baroque paintings they always show to us in art history class.... Hm hm hmmm..
And then I proceeded to spend 40 something hours of my life on this.
I have included a LOT of metaphors for their backstory and character dynamic among the background objects.. I don't think any part of the background is there randomly, except maybe the floor... But you can also argue that that is part of the stage they're on so it technically isn't. I don't really want to explain them as I feel like that defeats the purpose of this being my little visual storytelling challenge.
Uhh I also would have wanted to make a prologue for the fic I'm working on for amends au and attach it to this drawing, but then I kinda changed my mind because I feel like leaving their early life super ambiguous fits the story more. And umm I couldn't settle on what scene to do exactly.. because this drawing encapsulates.. too much. It's kind of like an omen.
