It has been brought to our attention that certain members of our disposable citizens have been doing a hella crappy job at contributing enough emotions for our not very noble cause of feeding our boss demon. Shame on you! You shall all get punished in time.
The first on our list is a certain robot loser. We have received complaints about said individual. Some of our citizens have even started a petition entitled "Get Crow A Heart Campaign". Others have started a movement called "Destroy Crow 2k14". You see, this is a serious issue, and we really wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that this jerk isn't providing enough emotions to meet the quota. We thus must put a plan in place to fix this issue. Listen up!
From this day onward the robot loser called Crow is a wanted fugitive. If you succeed in capturing him and bringing him to the laboratories so he may receceive a heart transplant, you shall be more or less generously rewarded.
Happy hunting!
- Kraler, of the ECC (Emotion Collection Committee)
Today marks the beginning of Valentine’s Week, the perfect time to show that special someone just what exactly you think of them. Here in Sh’tori people traditionally express their feelings with a delicate gift of chocolate - graciously thrown at the one they love, have a crush on or hate from the bottom of their soul.
No, I am not joking, my dear lost souls; to throw is the way to go! Giving is such a weak-willed and inefficient way to show affection or hatred - clearly, if you’re simply handing the chocolate over, you’re not doing it right! Now, what kind of passionless love or hate would that be? It’s gotta be thrown. Popular chocolate gifts include special ingredients such a chilli, strange fungi known as space mushrooms and frog eyes. Hey, it might even be spiked with Cupidevil's Lake water.
And for those among you who might be a little bit confused by the fact that -unlike on earth- the Valentine’s festivities in Sh’tori last for a whole week - please keep in mind that us imps will use any excuse to slack off, especially when there’s chocolate to be thrown! And 7 days of neglected work sound so much better than just a single one, don’t you agree?
Ah, can you feel it? Can you smell it? The scent of love... and despair? That's right, soon it'll be Christmas, which means it's time to bake Shandrii's traditional Giganto-X-Mess-Cake! Of course, a cake this awesome can't be made without a lot of quality feelings, so you, our more or less beloved citizens, all get to contribute! Awesome!
So, what do you have to do? That's easy. All you have to do is to get married to a partner of our choosing. Are you nervous already? Just wait until you hear all the details!
Our special honeymoon troupes will soon arrive at your place to retrieve our newlyweds, whether you want to or not. You'll then get shipped off to our special homeymoon island, where you'll spend the next 30 days - alongside your newly appointed spouse!
You'll live together in a small apartment with a single bedroom. Isn't that romantic? You'll get to spent a lot of quality time together. Why not start getting to know each other by comparing your pretty matching rings?
Talking about quality time together. We want your emotions, and we want a lot of them. Thus, refusing to spend time with your spouse is strictly forbidden. No one on honeymoon island will serve you unless you bring your spouse along.
Your rings also have a special little bonus. Don't try to take them off or you might find yourself in a shocking state of electrocution. And trying to get away from your spouse is a no-no as well. Move more than 16 ft/5 m away from each other and you'll both taste the sparks. :3
Of course now that you're all being shipped off to our beach island resort we can't leave you without things to do with your spouse now can we? Your little necessities can be bought from general shops (eh? what do you mean kinky demon shops?) that's located in the same areas we have our restaurants, casinos, nightclubs, theatres and spa places, and whatever else you people can find in there. Don't make me list them all, go explore to your heart's content! Try to leave the island though and your rings will go zappy zappy, don't make me say it twice now!
Once the 30 days are over Shandrii should have collected enough feelings to make his cake, so you'll get shipped right back to Sh'tori. Whether you want to stay with your spouse then or rather get a quick divorce is entirely up to you. But before the time is up, you're stuck with them, for better or worse.
We actually don't care if you'll love or hate each other, as long as you produce lots of quality emotions. Have fun. (◕‿◕✿)
So, with the rules now explained, here's the list of all our freshly baked married couples. Congratulations to all of you:
i know you've just had an event but i just got an idea for a future one that you may be interested in. maybe shandrii will order the people within the realm to marry someone, he can pair them up and force them to be married for maybe a month (irl) then they have the choice to divorce or can stay together. he decided to do it so he could spark more emotion maybe? just an idea!
We have discussed about this event and we do plan on putting it into play! We’ll reveal more details and sort at a later date, but let’s just say that Shandrii has his own “plot twists” planned for those who participate.
Speaking of participants, those who wish their characters to take part in the event can use the answer box to enter their names. Along with being at random, we’re also allowing the pairings to be chosen if desired! Make sure that both muns agree with this pairing before anything. If you want your characters married together, be sure to add that in the box as well. We’ll be making a list of all participants in a week, so get them in by then!
Lastly, if anyone has ideas they’d like to share, feel free to add those in too and we’ll take a look at them. ?
Here's the requested halloween event! This will run from today, October 21st to November 4th at 11:45PM EST (we'll probably extend this as we see fit). As previously stated and for those who've signed up we've divided your characters into groups and placed them into a number of different situations. Unbeknownst to the characters as to how they got there they wake up inside a huge haunted mansion in different rooms (and in different groups!).
There are three people for most in each group; if you've been placed in a three-person group this means you're to do a three-way-thread with the group you've been placed in. You can decide amongst yourselves who will write the starter for each group as well as the thread order (e.g. Apollo-Shitani-Shan). We would advise you to put down the thread order in the title so there is no confusion about whose turn it is to reply! Also, once you've escaped your individual rooms, your group can then pick another room to enter that's described below.
(Just a note that if it's been two days and you can't get a hold of the mun whose turn it is to reply, you can progress the thread yourselves and wait for them to come around again to reply on their turn. Unless you know the mun is around and says they will reply, repeat the process if it happens again.)
Group divisions and situations are described below the cut:
Watch out Ghoul-friend!
Participants: Apollo Justice, Shitani Arete, Shan Shening
When characters awaken, they find themselves in a large room, the area littered with remains of what used to be old furniture.
The small fluorescent bulb that hangs from the ceiling provides a dim illumination as it flashes on and off at random; the brief source of light revealing that the characters are not alone. The space is enclosed, housing them along with 4 hungry yet deadly ghouls.
Characters are able to use the bits and pieces of wood and metals in the piles of rubble to fight off the ghouls, but they are blunt objects.
The way to exit would be through a door, conveniently locked, that grants access to the next room. The very key is hidden in one of the ghouls' mouth.
Characters awaken in a long hallway, giant walls surrounding them on each side.
The side walls are not as simple as they seem, both slowly closing in every 3 seconds, for 2 minutes total before closing in completely.
Not all hope is lost for there is a button at one end of the hallway, which stops the walls from closing in for 5 seconds. Once the allotted time is up, they continue on. After being pressed 3 times at maximum, it will no longer function.
If characters are to escape the area before becoming sandwiches, there is an exit to another room that appears once the walls are at a certain distance from each other [This can be decided by muns.]
If the characters happen to screw up - by this we mean having already pressed the button the max number of times, the walls will continue to close, seeming as if to crush them but eventually a trap door from below will open that leads the characters out of there.
Don't get "Ahead" of Yourself
Participants:
Mitsuhide Akechi and Kagura
Tsubasa Saito and Aqua
For this area there are two rooms, divided by a barrier in between. Two characters placed in them as partners.
This room is decorated with jars of glowing heads stacked on tall shelves, each having a different face stored inside them.[These can be the heads of people the characters know.]
In one of these jars, there is a key (among several other fake ones) which unlocks the door to the “exit”. If characters want to escape, they must search the jars on the vast shelves and take the heads out to reach a key.
Because both rooms are very dark they'd have to use the glowing heads as lanterns to search for the exit door in each room.
Nightmare on Molten Street
Participants: Heather Mason, Zeke Ferus, Jonathan
(note: Fenris will be placed in this group if the mun returns from hiatus in time before the event ends. For now, the muns may begin the thread and progress without him.)
The characters wake up in a room that is covered entirely with mirrors. They each reflect back the character's appearance, all but one.
If looked at, a snake-like beast emerges from that unusual mirror and into the room. It attacks with fangs and illusions. The characters are free to use the environment to their advantage to fight off the enemy.
If the snake beast is conquered, a wall then shatters, which allows them to escape into another room.
The characters wake up in a clearly lit room. Dust swirls around the area with dirt lingering everywhere. The only object to be seen atop a dusty table is a small sheet of toilet paper hanging from its roll.
Looking around further there are two open jars filled with small crystal shaped rocks atop a large table. One jar has red-coloured rocks, and another has cerulean-coloured rocks. Once having glanced at these jars Neriah and Lucina are drawn to the strong, sweetly intoxicating scent from these 'candies'. Once the scent reaches their noses they will forget themselves, feeling nothing but the utmost desire to consume them (as a magical effect of its scent).
The rocks taste like candy that strongly influences one's emotions to extremities when consumed.
Neriah is drawn to the red-shaped rocks, which causes rage. Lucina is drawn to the cerulean-shaped rocks, which causes boredom.
Once having consumed the rocks, Neriah and Lucina become aware of themselves and their actions again, but with the "heightened" influence of the emotion-candies. The jars disappear into thin air and Kano falls from a trap door from above.
There is a circular keyhole on the wall to the far left of the room and the only way to exit the door right next to it is to clean the keyhole's very thick layer of dust, with the toilet paper roll serving as its key.
Bee Quiet
Participants: Rita Mordio, Izumo Kamiki, Pit
The characters wake up in a dark room surrounded by nests of bees/wasps. If any loud noises are made, they will swarm and attack them.
A voice notifies them, once they all awaken, about keeping quiet.
Once the bees/wasps all awaken, there is a huge mini-boss wasp that Rita, Izumo, and Pit will have to face. The way to 'defeat' it is by stroking its head and taming it to bust out of the room and, in turn, the whole mansion eventually.
As per the anon's request, we've taken a look at your suggestions and have decided that we'll be making a Halloween event that will last till the end of October! For this event we will be dividing you into several groups and give you a set of different ~spooky~ situations to roleplay in. Of course, we won't tell you what and where they will be held just yet - that's meant to be a surprise! First we'd like to ask how many of our members are willing to participate. If you'd like your character to join, simply like/answer this post (if your blog is a multi-muse, be sure to indicate which character(s) you'd like to join!)
Anyway, to go with Mao's secret evil plan, I also have an event for everyone.
Helen is recruiting willing victims volunteers for her project to implant emotion cores into people. She herself is a being powered by crystallized love, and she is very interested to find out if this process can be reproduced in others. For now, she is only accepting human applicants, as she is not sure how the cores will affect other species.
The process runs something like this. Once you indicate to her your interested (send me an ask), she will surgically implant an emotion core into you, next to your heart. It will collaborate with your biological system to sustain you, so once the surgery is done, you will have less reliance on air/food/water. The more in sync you are with your core, the more effective this will be. In some instances, the core can completely replace your heart and keep you alive.
[ put under a readmore because it was getting waaay too long ]
If your mental constitution is enough to handle the change, then you can apply to have a second core implanted. The colour chosen can boost your primary core. If you can successfully balance the two colours, then you will have access to shaping the combined energy of the two colours to do what you want with it. (You can also achieve this by having two people with one core each collaborate. Again, ask for details.)
So, what is the benefit of applying for this surgery? The basic benefit is having a stronger constitution. If you receive one of the more positive cores (hope, willpower, compassion), then there will also be an improvement in your personality. And if you are able to sync yourself with your core, and suppress other emotions (so that there will be no interference), you will gain additional abilities according to its colour.
Red: Turns the individual's saliva 'infectious'. Anyone bitten will also experience a surge in wrath. Also, an additional boost to stamina and attack power. As rage is one of the two extreme ends of the emotional spectrum, anyone carrying this core will be affected (i.e. lose some part of their ability to rationalize).
Orange: Able to duplicate other items into orange 'solid light' versions. Induces extreme greed into the host, as well as reluctance to share.
Yellow: This can go both ways: if the host is too cowardly, they will be effectively paralyzed while experiencing their worst nightmare. However, if the host is able to master their fear and/or have a desire to inflict it upon others, they will be able to sense others' greatest fears, and in extreme, well-controlled cases, create illusions of those fears.
Green: The most 'neutral' emotion. Imparts upon the host impressive willpower and endurance. May make them stubborn, though. Masters of this colour can create light constructs of whatever they wish, maintained by their will.
Blue: On its own, hope core carriers are able to heal physical wounds. More advanced skills will enable them to heal mental trauma as well. It also amplifies the power of green core-carriers nearby (the two colours mutually boost each other).
Indigo: The individual becomes more perceptive to the emotions and thoughts of others, at the cost of losing some of their own identity. Masters of this colour can channel other colours while in their proximity.
Violet: A violet core relies on amplifying the host's own emotions to function, making it unique (and having the side effect of aggravating any emotional attachment to others they already have). Since it is on the other extreme end of the emotional spectrum, hosts may have their behaviour drastically affected. The effect of this core is highly personal, so there isn't much to say generally.
... WOW THIS WAS LONG UH.
Anyway, yeah, this was my idea. Again, send an ask if you have any questions/want to volunteer o/
Conservationist Flirrels have been demanding it for months, but as usual neither the higher up demons nor Shandrii himself has ever paid any mind to their calls. And now we have the catastrophe!
Shandrii's laboratories, infamous for its downright evil experiments on the living and the dead alike, has been keeping the offspring of a gargantuan lava kraken caged in its basement for years in what the demon lord claims to be an attempt "to develop a new rejuvenating skin cream for the lovely ladies of Sh'tori". Undoubtedly his real motives must be more sinister and so he has refused to release the kraken babies all this time. And now their momma kraken is coming to get them!
Gargantulla, as the Flirrels have affectionately dubbed her, is foaming with rage now and running wild in the city, bringing doom and destruction to everything in her path! To make matters worse, her babies have, agitated by their mother's call, laid the laboratories into ruins and now are roaming through Sh'tori's streets as well.
Presented with a catastrophe of this scale we are left with no choice: 1000 gold trikhids have been offered for the capture of each baby kraken. Find them, re-unite them with Gargantulla, and save the city! This is your chance to get rich and be a hero - if the 3m tall baby krakens don't kill you, that is! If you want to succeed, you'd better find comrades to fight by your side.
Unsurprisingly, Shandrii has yet to give an official statement on the whole affair.
