MMR! Chapter 1 [P1]
Down at Regoni High School, a girl with rasberry hair tied up in short pigtails was walking down the halls towards the exit with her ginger bff until she stopped in her tracks and admired the snack haven of a vending machine. “Earth to Zeyo!” The ginger said while waving her hand in front of Zeyo’s face. “Huh!? Oh sorry, I’m just hungry.” she said while snapping out of her trance. “With the way you eat, I’d expect nobody feeds you at home… They are feeding you right?” the ginger asked, her protectiveness kicking in. “No Tai! It’s not like that! In fact I eat loads at home …(To the point where my bro hides the snacks).” Zeyo said to calm down Tai, which works. “Fine but I’ve gotta go or my parents will have my head, see ya!” She explained as she exited the school to leave Zeyo to buy 2 packets of crisps.
When she finally left, she met up outside the gates with her long back haird older brother. She stopped in her tracks when she saw his annoyed look. With a nervous laugh, she held up one of the packets and said, “...Crisps?...” He sighed and said, “You and your food, you’d be better off as a pig.” She did a sigh of relief as she put one in her bag and opened the other. “I don’t think that would be that bad Jackson, I happen to like pigs.” They continued chatting on the way home with Zeyo finishing her crisps and binning the packet, until Jackson noticed a shine on the floor nearby. ‘Just ignore it and she won’t notice it.’ He thought, thinking it was his past coming to haunt him, “Ooo! What pretty rings!” Too late, Zayo had seen it. Jackson walked over and told her, “We should turn them in, someone probably lost them.” He was getting a weird vibe from them and her didn’t like it one bit.
When they entered the police station, the man at the desk looked up and asked, “How can I help you?” Zeyo reluctantly handed in the box of rings. “I found these on the floor…” She said, she really wanted to keep them. She felt a connection, a need to protect them from others. After they got home that night, after filing in some forms, Jackson went to do his own thing in his room and Zeyo went to hers and heard her phone ringing. When she answered she said, “This is Zeyo, who is this?” She didn’t recognize the number. “Hello, this is David from the police station. Could you please come and pick up some loss property as soon as you can.” She was a bit surprised, she didn’t remember losing anything . “I can pick it up after school tomorrow.” After telling him the specific time, she hung up and got ready for bed.
As soon as the bell rang for end of school, she left with a quick ‘bye’ to Tai and headed to the police station for the second time this week. Meanwhile, last night and as soon as he got home, Jackson stayed in his room reading some old looking books written in another language.
The next day, once the school bell rang, Zeyo headed to the police station to see what was waiting for her.
