I knew this was coming. I've been trying to get myself to become less attatched to him for weeks now. But man, this still hurts. 

I still love you, Zherdev, even though you haven't been working as hard as you should. You were the first new person who caught my eye at my very first Flyers game. <3

I'll still keep supporting you. I wish you nothing but the best of luck, a better work ethic, and happiness in the future.

 I'm not going to turn my back on a guy I adored from the pre-season for not playing as well as he could. Your attitude could have been better, but I just hope that's something you will improve some day in the future.

- so, the flyers placed zherdev on waivers. everyone pretty much saw it coming. at practice on monday, i definitely said, "enjoy your last practice, zhe." i called it! (me and everyone else, i know.)

- the ducks called ray emery up. he's got a long way to go, but he did pretty well for the syracuse crunch and it's ridiculous that he's back at all. i'm not a fan of his, but i think it's amazing that he made it back from the injury. good luck in anaheim, ray!

- GETZY'S WIFE IS IN LABOR. i didn't even know he had a wife or that she was pregnant until, like, a month ago. but klfjghdfg SO CUTE. that baby is going to be crazy adorable. congrats, mr & mrs getzy!!!!

Zherdev Done in Philly!

According to Bob Mckenzie on twitter the Flyers just placed Zherdev on waivers so either they don't feel like they are getting fair value or they need the cap space to gear up for a big trade. Now official on ESPN.

 According to Dmitry Chesnokov of YAHOO! Sports, a healthy handful of teams are asking about Nikolay Zherdev.

"I just learned there are at least half dozen teams interested in Nik Zherdev", Chesnokov tweeted on Monday.

If that's the case, the Philadelphia Flyers should be able to move the winger before next weekend.

Forward Nikolay Zherdev may not play another game for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Coach Peter Laviolette - no great fan of Zherdev's, we understand - opted to make the winger a healthy scratch for a third straight game despite Ville Leino's unavailability (lower-body injury). Fourth-liner Jody Shelley suited up instead.

It's no secret the Flyers would love to offload Zherdev before the trade deadline and they may still have that chance.

Since his $2 million/year contract expires after this season, the 26-year-old could serve as a semi-valuable rental. He can score. Left scrambling, a contending team may opt to snag Zherdev in the waning moments on Feb. 28, if options become limited. It's not like the Flyers will ask for too much in return.
