When it comes to simplicity, Zibetto nails it. My brother-in-law tipped me off to this great little spot right by Central Park. You cannot get closer to the 59th st F stop (it's literally out the door, you can see it in the reflection) so convenience is definitely not an issue. The place is tiny, and lines do form in the morning, so plan ahead. Get a shot, or two, a cannoli and maybe a panini if you need a snack. Be warned, the vegetable sandwich on the menu is actually just a caprese. Delicious though! Oh, and they have wine, which is good to know for those sneaky lunch dates in the park. Ciao!
Unknown blend at Zibetto. Classic Italian coffee bar in Midtown. Great atmosphere, terrible coffee.

I love visiting Zibetto. Find an open space at the marble bar (standing room only), order a drink, panini or pastry, and pretend to be european for 10 or 15 minutes.
The espresso is world class, but I like to start the morning with a latte ($3.50) and an apricot cornetto ($3).
