18200 Grand River is a colorful example of commercial Art Deco (Zigzag Moderne to be more specific) architecture that is commonly found throughout Detroit. Decolicious detail from the top of Leland Bryant's 1929 masterpiece the Sunset Tower Hotel. Also known in the past as the St. James Club & The Argyle. On Gratiot Avenue, just outside historic Eastern Market, is a block of great Art Deco buildings of varying sizes. Two of these buildings stands out from the rest. 1428 Gratiot (which is comprised of both buildings) was, until very recently, home to Antietam, a much-lauded, French-inspired restaurant that opened in 2014.
