Their favorite green one starts showing up LESS the MORE Mike hangs out?! What do you mean!
What a loser!! A Tenna suck up! AND Mike copies Battat's little quirks every now and then??? Not to mention that Battat is seen talking to Mike sometimes...
Hate Tenna and his stupid boyfriend.. where's Battat.
+ 1 MILLION Points if Battat notices the other Pippins disrespect Mike as well, but doesn't know why. Battat tweaking out on HOW CAN ANYONE POSSIBLY HATE MIKE.
Battat and Jongler having an argument outside of the Mike room, Battat bold enough to reach on over and press Jongler's mute button.
While that's already quite the move, the Zappins couple witness it and gossip about it later cause WHO in their right mind presses on a Zapper's button so outwardly direct like that... UNLESS???
Card Kingdom Battat thoughts/headcanons I have in my notes from weeks ago;
Battat most likely remembers his king to be like 10x better than how the guy actually is, only because he's currently dealing with Tenna's bs. Like get Battat into Castle Town just to find his king is dressed up as an animal, sitting in a cage, Battat's GOING to get whiplashed back into reality that no matter where he is, all of his superiors are stupid.
Depending on Battat preferences, if he enjoyed 'regular' Pippin activities before and whatnot, he probably would've smuggled from the treasury.
Trans Battat, masc or fem. Any Pippins who would've stayed in Card Kingdom probably wouldn't recognize Battat in Castle Town if they transitioned after getting to TV World, esp if they had changed their name. Peak Battat finding themselves and being happy SOMEWHERE in their miserable life.
Before the Mike's get together, I like to think they each live in varying degrees of how good their apartments might be based off pay and how close they might be to the Studio.
Each character's living situation headcanon's under the cut! Pretty lengthy ramble this time!
[Battat, Pluey, Jongler, PolyMikes living together, ect]
Battat - Pippins probably get paid very very poorly, mostly due to Tenna going by 'You get paid by how you work' and most Pippins slack, so.. it must be ALL Pippins that slack!!
Battat would have a very sad two room apartment. Bedroom/kitchenette combo, then the bathroom. He might be able to shove a desk in there, but he definitely doesn't enjoy being home so much. The place definitely doesn't come with laundry units, and he'd have to find a laundromat nearby to go to on his time off/middle of the night to get done. I'd say as soon as any of them started making the Mike room comfortable (fairly common headcanon there's at least a couch in the Mike room), Battat would just have more the room to stay in the Studio, and rest there if he really needs to.
If you really like your Battat extra crispy with despair and identity issues like me, he totally would have taken the bathroom mirror down. Blank wall spot or constantly open medicine cabinet, whatever works best!
Like hell he's going to move in with other Pippins though! (Something I've also seen as a headcanon, and also believe that multiple Pippins totally would be roommates with each other.)
Pluey - Pretty average pay. Shadowguys are mostly seen as the stuntmen from what I see. I like to think they're the work on anything and everything of the Studio, but more trustworthy because at least they're not blatantly stealing or gambling.
For saving money, I can also see Pluey having a two-room apartment but putting effort into making the place look nice. Curtain dividers, posters, a rug, literally anything to give his place a cozy feel. He'd probably get sick of also not having any laundry units inside the apartment and see about if he can buy to have them installed himself.
Pluey's also most likely the one to have the desire to fill the Mike room first. Too empty, too full of misery. Add some cat statues! Drag in a couch! Literally anything!
Jongler - Let's be so real. Zappers get the best pay, but it's still not grand. Tenna isn't paying ANYONE fairly, especially since the Zappers seem to catch on a bit slower than possibly preferred. But at the end of the day they're doing their best and getting work done, so they still get pay better than the other two groups.
At the very least, Jongler would have a more spacious apartment. Living area, kitchen, proper kitchen island for dining section. The bedroom is at least a whole separate room, bathroom a given. Jongler wouldn't be too on top of decor though. It's just where they keep their belongings, as neat as what makes sense to them, rest up, then get back to work where they spend most of their time anyways!
Once Pluey adds to the Mike room, I'd say Jongler would follow along and start adding things as well. Battat was probably the first with the Mike theories and what evidence he could find, but that hardly counts as proper decor or space to be comfortable!
PolyMike's / Roommates - Once the three decide to even live together under one roof(Whether that's before the events of Chapter 3, in Castle Town, or straight up in the Mike room(Which I don't personally think they live there per say)), they'd make sure the place would make sense for all of their needs and what makes sense to each of their paychecks.(Most likely according to before Castle Town.)
I mostly enjoy the ideas of the three figuring out a rhythm to living a pretty calm domestic life together. Not that there isn't plenty of antics still, there sure are, but taking turn with dishes, learning to combine laundry and sorting it out together to fold and put away.
I also see other headcanon's where Battat gets an extra room for office space, which would make sense. If the room is there in whatever place they all agree on, even make it a general extra room for anything! Probably dedicated to Mike though.
Final Notes - For how far they'd live from the Studio both as roommates and all separately, I can both imagine them each requiring different ways to get to work, as well as potentially being nothing beyond an annoying walk.
It's also hard to imagine the rest of TV World beyond the Studio being anything brighter or happy past the dust and snow that's shown to be outside Studio walls. But the concept art by Gigi DG found on the Deltarune Winter 2025 Newsletter is still gorgeous! I love the metro concept and can imagine plenty of Darkner's needing it to make it to work on time at the Studio, even if that concept was never actually made into the game.
