JUST MY THOUGHTS...TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT

I truly stand behind the belief that a system cannot fail those it was not meant to protect. I can not begin to imagine the amount of disappointment and despair in the heart of the family of Trayvon Martin. A boy who was unarmed, walking home with a hoodie on because it was raining, and who you could hear screaming for help in the background of 911 calls. Sounds pretty defenseless to me. It's definitely time for us to stand our ground against a justice system that is unjust. You can say "Black people always make it a race issue" but the thing is race plays a role in every aspect of a Black persons life. We are still till this day considered minority. If you knew your history you would know this nation is built on the backs of slaves. The mindset, The racist mind never disappeared only the laws denying us inequality but as you can see there are holes. One thing I'd like to point out is that we as black people need to educate ourselves not just find a cause and run with it. I want you to truly know who is being put into office what changes are being made, go vote, not just for your next president but for your state officials and know their backgrounds. You can't make a change by just wanting something to happen and sitting and waiting for it. We as a race have to learn to uplift, to empower, to not be ignorant (I say that in terms of not knowing what is happening or going on in the world) and to let go of the idea of we may fail if we try and who will listen because even if there is at least one ear who hears you, you have gotten through to someone.
