I don't know if there's been any updates or if I just missed it or if you guys just didn't have any extras but I really just wanted to know if you guys are ever gonna open shop so people like me can buy the extra stuff? Or is it not happening so I can put my thoughts to rest. I've been asking creators from the zine of updates as well and forgot I can just ask here 😅

It’s happening! We’re putting final touches on the store really at the moment- unfortunately life got in the way and took out a bunch of our admin/mod resources while we were putting everything together. It’s been a busy year so far!

Rest assured it IS happening though!

what inspired the idea behind son of al-khalil? i feel like the concept is so different from most superhero aus ive seen

Would you believe me if I told you it started with a silly edit of Superman in a Palestinian keffiyeh that went viral and a desire to help my precious friend Sandra?

I started developing him around October 2025, it started out on an RP template I found on tumblr, actually. I kept tweeting about him, talking about him to my friends, and he began to become more and more real. I actually named him Careem after someone dear to someone who was dear to me.

What made him more real is when my friend, Jam did his first design. We had yet another hit tweet, then another one. The masses clearly yearned for our precious Fala7i man.

Around November, we started planning a zine and then in late November we released an interest check. Khalil kept growing, and becoming more and more real with every story and every art someone made. He became dear to so many of us and we really cannot wait to share him with all of you.

What is the deadline/timeline? You can find the schedule here! If you have a conflict that may delay you a bit we’ll be pretty lenient and if you need to drop out please let the mods know at least a little bit in advance to prepare a pinch hitter! Life happens sometimes and we completely understand :]

Is there a minimum/maximum word count? The minimum would likely be around 1k words but no maximum! If you’re accepted feel free to go wild!

How is this going to work? This is a zine thats focusing on all the collabs/SMP’s our beloved creator GeminiTay has been a part of. The list (so far) is as follows:

This list may grow or shrink as the interest check continues! Currently the plan for how many artists/writers per category is unknown but this will be either stated in an ask or this will be edited.

How will collaborations work? That is up to the participants! If you and the other person(s) in the category you’re assigned wish to collab then you may! It can be a cohesive piece and writing, or a comic or honestly anything that comes to mind! You may need to check with the mods but again, go wild!

Hiii! My name’s Livvy. I absolutely love this idea, but how would you want to go about this project? Is it just sending stuff to you (I’m really dumb. Sorry 😅) or something else?

Hello, Livvy! Collaborative zines usually consists of, well, a ton of communication, so a majority of the project's progress would be monitored in Discord and several forms to be sent out.

Sending 'stuff' to us is one of the main requirements in getting your piece in the zine, but it would require you to be either an accepted contributor in the zine or a guest!(Yes, we have a new thing now. We'll get to that...Soon)

As of now, we don't have a set timeline of when we would be accepting contributors. We're just in our interest check phase, meaning we're still seeing how many people would be interested in downloading or making something for the project.

hello! a question regarding the geminitay fanzine- will shipping content regarding her be allowed? and what content would and would not be allowed in the zine in general?

Completely not allowed content for the zine would include:

Anything NSFW

Anything graphically gory

Anything that violates Gem’s boundaries

As for shipping, while I’d technically allow it (as long as it is between characters, not creators, and as long as it is within Gem’d boundaries) background relationships would probably best at most.
