hello, hello, are there any updates on the physical release?

Not much at the moment! There's design work to be done for things like the box/booklet covers that weren't involved with the digital release, so we ask that everyone's patient with us while we get those finished up/get things sorted with the manufacturer! We will post updates as soon as we have them.

Hi!! The zine is so amazing!!! The contributors all did an amazing job! I saw on the download page that there was a mention of a potential for a physical copy being released. I was wondering if there was anything I and the rest of the zine enjoyers can do to help make that a reality? Thank you!! <33

Hello! We’re so so glad that people are still interested in a physical release!

Honestly, the best thing folks can do is spread the zine around and keep an eye on our socials, as we’ll be posting another interest check within the next few days to gauge just how many people are still wanting the physical edition. The responses to that form will help us a lot!!

with the previews coming out, do you guys have a release date yet? everything looks so good!

We have just a few things to square away before we can confidently announce a release date, but I can say that if all goes well it will be very soon! It will be posted here as soon as everything’s put together :)

A huge thank you goes out to everyone being so patient with us as we finish up! We’re so excited to share the finished product with everyone!

is the physical edition going to be limited time or quantity?

Limited time is likely, but will depend largely on the manufacturer! As for quantity, orders will likely be on a pre-order basis so that we aren't worrying about a limited stock.

just wanted to say that all the graphics, promotional and informational are freaking gorgeous- kudos to whoever's been making them they look great!

Thank you so much! All graphics are made by Bax (the person answering this ask right now), with the exception of some of the character art from the application countdown posts being contributions from Sun and Tibby respectively :)

Hi!! I’ve been scrolling through the blog and I haven’t seen anything about this so I’d thought I’d ask, will the deck be digital only or available for purchase? It’s such a cool project!!

Hello! The current plan is still to produce a physical version of the deck, with a free digital edition published beforehand so that folks can see what they’ll be getting!

Since we’re nearing the end of our creation period, we should have more information about both releases soon!

For future reference in case anyone here is wondering about CMYK and FireAlpaca!

You can view and work on pieces in CMYK mode and even export them as a CMYK PSD file. Once you've made your new canvas, go to View > Color Management Settings... > Select both a RGB and a CMYK color profile > Check "Enable" > Check "CMYK Soft Proof" > You are now viewing colors in CMYK mode and can export!

I'm not quite sure how exporting works (haven't tested it yet) or if it can/needs to be exported in a .png/.jpg format, but that's how you view the colors at least. I'm no expert though!

Small question about the application, do we need an example of a piece using CMYK and being 300dpi? Or is just that we need to be able to have the final like drawing done in that format?

Nope! No examples required, just the ability to work in that format!
