I haven't been able to get myself to doodle much lately because I'm in the midst of some big distracting life changes, so heeere is an old one of my fave fossil 💀

Olduvai Hominid 5 (OH5 or Zinj) is a ~2 million year old fossil of Paranthropus boisei. It was discovered by Mary Leakey at Olduvai Gorge in 1959.

Will probably be incorporating many more human evolution things over here in the future 😘 -- March 2021

Mary Leakey

(1913–1996) Paleoanthropologist

Mary Leakey discovered the first fossilised Proconsul skull, an extinct great ape now believed to be ancestral to humans. She also discovered the Zinjanthropus skull at Olduvai Gorge in Tanzania. For much of her career she worked along side her husband uncovering fossils and she became director of the project upon his death. She discovered fifteen new species of animal and brought about the naming of a new genus.
