do you break everything you touch?
so i break my headphones all the time.
in my defense, i wear my headphones everywhere, all the time, forever. that’s me in the foyer, ignoring people who’ve come into the office because i just got to the chorus of missy elliot’s “WTF” and can’t be bothered to greet them. that’s me in the airport almost missing my flight because i’m jamming to “amnesia (act 5)”. that’s me trundling down the sidewalk in what might be a jog if i weren’t trying to do the mashed potato to “cabinet battle #1” at the same time.
all these different ways of using my headphones means there are lots of cool fun ways for me to break them, which happens constantly, and immediately sends me into a rage spiral because how DARE you be a delicate piece of technology that can’t keep up with my incredibly accident-prone lifestyle while being in almost constant use?
anyway, @zipbuds heard me whining about this problem a few weeks ago and sent me a pair of their SLIDE sport earbuds (so, you know, full disclosure). and i love them. i mean, i LOVE them.
built out of some fancy military shit so they can survive life with me, A Certified Human Disaster.
their fancy shape even fits my tiny troll ears!!!
they’re $80, which is like, $70 more than i’m typically willing to spend on anything, up to and including healthcare. but they last a looooooong time. i’m sure there’s economics to be done here about the value of buying one fancy pair of headphones vs 10 immediately breakable pair of headphones, but i majored in comp lit and anthropology, so don’t ask me to do math.
anyway, the point of this is: if you have some extra cash on you AND you love music AND everything you touch turns to ash, i very sincerely recommend these. and not just because i got them as a present, although we all know, i do love presents.
