This performance of Händel's underrated opera "Deidamia"! No need for more!
Look at this! Just look at this photo!!!!
Sophie Junker and Bruno de Sá as Deidamia and Pyrrha (Achilles)
Yup! That's a guy behind her!!!! The dude is simply PERFECT at his performance of Achilles/Pyrrha! There he is again (on the left)
Man the fact that I even need to point out where he is shows how great the makeup team actually was and how great the dude was to his performance of Achilles! I mean look at him! He is much more feminine than what I could ever be in his role! I swear to God he could pass for a woman entirely!!!!! Which shows how great he was!
And the voice dude THE VOICE!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear! I am a trained soprano (not to that level of course) and yes there are men who sing high notes (see this contra-tenor I had also referenced for Achilles) but you generally hear a range towards the area of mezzo-soprano and you can actually tell from some smoother transitions that we talk about a contra-tenor. But THIS dude is a full-on singing soprano there!!!!! This is not a contra-tenor he is a man-soprano I swear to god! (and the dude in the scene is the bass singer Petros Magoulas [Πέτρος Μαγουλάς] who plays Lycomedes yeah even an opera can find a Greek even if it is not a casting for a movie and the actors are not supposed to necessarily look their parts!!!!! Tragic irony!) In fact the original opera was written for a soprano for the part of Achilles, which actually shows how insanely talented this artist is! (Also Lycomedes and Phoenix were supposed to be bass, Ulysses/Odysseus was supposed to be played either by a contratenor or a mezzo-soprano, Deidamia and her friend were soprani)
The performance of this underrated opera was actually both conducted and stage-directed by George Petrou (Γιώργος Πέτρου) yup! Another Greek! The costume as well as set designs were done by...yup you guessed it! Another Greek Giorgina Germanou (Γιωργίνα Γερμανού). Ιt was supposed to be a satirical play which connects the past and the present. A bunch of silent characters to the background are the tourists of modern day Skyros who supposedly arrive for a wedding and at the same time "participate" to the events of the myth with their imagination, seeing it through the eyes of their head. Also the several prompts such as the armor and the pieces of jewelry presented to the protagonists, symbolically come out of museum glass cases:
(The part where they take out Greek flags killed me!!!! I did not see that coming like at all! But I died! I was physically clapping!!!! Comedy gold!)
The performance took place during Wexford Festival Opera, National Opera House, Wexford, Ireland, Saturday 18 October 2025. Singers:
Deidamia – Sophie Junker Nerea (Deidamia's friend)– Sarah Gilford Achilles (Pyrrha) – Bruno de Sá Odysseus – Nicolò Balducci Phoenix – Rory Musgrave Lycomede – Petros Magoulas
Composer: George Frideric Händel Libretto: Paolo Antonio Rolli

They'd been going to the gym lately, a routine Pangi had no issue falling into the moment he'd landed in the UK. To Lukey's relief though, the Dutchman had no issue following along with his own workout sessions, offering to spot him when he lifts and often correcting his posture or form with gentle fingers pressing against his skin. It was difficult to stay in focus then, which usually led to more corrections, which then led to emabrassing moments of fleeing to the restroom under the guise of reliving himself. Lukey could almost always feel the smug look raking up and down his back as he left.
So when the opportunity arose to make Pangi flustered, he wasted no effort.
Pangi had his shirt off, sweat hanging off his skin in a thin shiny layer against the lockeroom lights. Motes of steam occasionally rose off his body, like tantalizing invitations to touch their creator. And who was Lukey to deny them of it? Sometimes shame had no place in front of spiteful vengeance.
"Yo, Sem, flex for me!" Lukey called out from behind the Dutchman, his phone held up towards the mirror they were both reflected on.
"Ohhhh~" Pangi looked back over his shoulder, that smug-ass smirk on his face. He's gonna revel in tearing that facade down. "Gonna finally have more picture of me on your phone now, huh? And shirtless ones too, exclusive."
The Dutchman winksled, which sent streams of warmth down to Lukey's abdomen. Lukey rolled his eyes in response. "I guess it depends if you actually do it or not, doesnt it?"
Pangi shook his head and turned to face the mirror again. He brought both arms up to the side of his face and flexed. Lukey marvelled at how the light cast shadows between the dips in muscle. His shoulders and back were riddled woth hidden valleys--SNAP! His biceps bulging, like several apples were trapped within: delectable, juicy, shiny. Snap! And overall, the form in the mirror looked unlike the Pangi he knew of, who always paraded himself shirtless or semi-nude in the spaces they shared alone. Unlike the almost soft and streamlined body he was used to, this was like being greeted with a feast made to be visually devoured.
Lukey's fingers subconciously pressed the camera button. With every movement and angle he took, a photo. But that wasn't the plan today- a surprising, but welcome addition to be sure- but today... it was revenge.
He put away the phone in his pocket and made his way behind Pangi who had started to settle down. "Hold up, wait." He whispered into his ear as he settled hands on the Dutchman's waist and ribs.
Lukey inwardly smiled as he felt him shudder. Perfect.
He slotted his chin on Pangi's still bulging bicep, head perfectly framed in his arms. The tough muscle wavered under the intrusion. Pangi smelled nice despite his sweat... oddly like his shampoo and bodywash, something he didn't realize reqired his brain.
His hands moved forward, the one on the ribs moving up over Pangi's pec until it was over his chest while the one on his waist stretched around to memorize the flexed abs that were usually hidden away.
Lukey turned his face to Pangi's ear, lips touching the outer shell. "I never knew you were so fit Sem. So toned, so strong..."
His voice was low, gravelly like how it usually was in the mornings, something he noted Pangi liked. The smile that played on the corners of his mouth rising as the shade of red on the Dutchman grew deeper still.
"I'm gonna get one more picture, okay? Of us, like this." It wasn't a question, it was just commentary on what was gonna happen.
Lukey was happy with the results. Soon after the last photo was taken, Pangi practically stuttered his way out of his entanglement and beelined towards the gym showers. All in a days work!
(You're the only one with this copy btw, one again doomed by my phones inability to select all. KMS)
