Ryan & Zithra: Meeting Balter
The Widow
Zithra stood in front of the Kassa Fabrications kiosk, looking at the receipt of her transaction. She did it. She really did it. She could hardly believe that she was now the proud owner of a M-98 Widow. Zith turned away from the kiosk, and the shocked store owner and all but ran back to the ship. It would be delivered there soon, and she could barely wait to get her hands on it.
Knox & Zithra: Egg Timer
Zithra Side Drabble.
"Hey! Quarian!"
Zithra looked up at the human man behind the kiosk. "Um, yes?"
"If you aren't going to buy anything, stop loitering! You'll drive away business!"
"Oh... Sorry."
"Not as sorry as you're going to be if you don't beat it." Keelah... He looked really mad.
Zithra slowly started to back away, but bumped into something, or someone. She didn't take much time to look back. She simply muttered a sorry before walking away quickly. She could hear someone following her, thinking that it was probably the person she bumped into and pissed them off, she picked up the pace. She decided to turn down an alley leading away from the commons and she felt a hand on her shoulder, tugging her back. She turns with a raised fist, ready to punch the owner of the hand, and stopped mid way. Turned out that it was a tall Turian following her, and he hand his other hand raised in surrender.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Easy! I just wanted to make sure you were alright!" He said quickly. "You seemed a little spooked."
"...So you followed me. Because I seemed spooked? Really? Keelah. I noticed someone was following me, who wouldn't be? And just cause a Quarian gets told to get lost, doesn't mean they need someone to make sure that we are okay. Only our immune systems are weak." She snapped, and instantly regretted it. She didn't apologize though, if the Turian wanted to be a nosy bosh'tet, he deserved it. She did find the situation familiar though. She couldn't quite place when she'd had a similar experience.
"Spirits. Sorry... Wait... Zithra? That you?" The Turian looked shocked, his mandibles moving quickly when he spoke. He seemed flustered, almost worried that he got the name or the person wrong.
"Um... Yes? Do I...." She took a moment to study the Turian again before it clicked in her head. "D-D-Dekron??? Keelah! I haven't seen you since..."
"Since you finished your pilgrimage, and that last message after the Loreli." He finished for her. "So... Its been a while... How have you been?"
"Honestly? I was fine up until a little recently... Well, not really fine. But I could have been worse. Now... Now I'm not sure how I really am. I keep telling others I'm fine, they seem to believe it." She looked at Dekron and shook her head. "But I can't seem to lie around you. Never have."
"Good, glad to know that I have this way of making people only speak the truth, even if its just my friends. Do you wanna talk about it, like old times?" He sounded amused, she wasn't sure at what.
"I..." She sighed. "You know what? Sure. I need someone to talk to."
"You don't have someone you can talk to aside from me? Really?"
"Not really... I don't really have anyone I can talk to this about on the ship..."
"Oh! You're on a new ship now? Which?"
"The Dunkirk... Its basically all humans."
"Ah. I thought you were fine around humans?"
"I was. Then something happened... Now I'm not so sure how to handle... Keelah. Lets go somewhere else. I don't want to talk about this out in the open."
Zaki&Zithra: Quarian Talk
For the first time in a few weeks, Zithra leaves the Main Battery on her own terms. By that meaning, not for food, or having Mess duty. She heard that there was another Quarian on the Dunkirk, which for the most part, surprised her. She made her way down to the crew quarters, relieved that the way down was littered with a few members of the crew, making her journey not as quiet as it would normally be.
Khor And Zith: Genophage Talk
Out of Time.
The team was running to the shuttle bay, most of them were injured, Zithra's own visor was shattered. They had far too many Geth for them to handle chasing after them. They turned around only to shoot at their enemy, and even then, not very often. The other Quarians were still getting onto the shuttles as they got to the hallway leading to it. Zithra cursed under her breath. 'They won't be out in time...' She thought as they entered the bay and defended their position from the large doorway. Zithra thought about her options. She could lock the doors to buy them more time to escape. She looked at the locking pad and saw that it was broken on their side. 'Figures...' She thought with a defeated sigh. She took a deep breath and let out a shaky laugh. "So this is how it ends..." She left her cover to the other side of the doorway. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ZITHRA?!" She tossed a mine towards the geth to give her a moment to look back at the team. She could feel the tears running down her face as she smiles. "Giving you more time." She activated the door to start closing and choked back a sob. "Don't waste this Sir. Just get them out of here." She sniffed as the doors are almost close. "Good bye..." The doors closed and she couldn't help the noise that came from her as she wiped away her tears. She could hear banging on the other side of the door, telling her to get back in there. She ignored them and raised her rifle to the Geth still there. "Just you and me..." She resumed firing on them, taking down a few before she took a hit to her side. She cringed for only a moment before tossing another mine at her attackers. She took cover behind some crates beside her and looked at her side. The shot had ripped right through her suit, and she could see blood flowing out of the wound. "Zithra, there is still time. Come on. Get back in here!" She heard over her comm piece. "No sir... Tch. There isn't." She tossed her second last mine to the group of geth to buy herself a bit more time. "When you get everyone out of here... Blow this place... Don't let any of these damn Geth escape..." "Not until you get back in here!!" "Sir, I can't open that door now, even if I wanted to." She said looking up as the door mechanism gets shot. "Just... Get them and yourself out of here..." "Zith..." She heard a different voice that time. "Please don't do this." "Too late now... Keelah. Stop wasting time... Go!" She shut off her comm, and resumed firing from her cover. She knew she can keep this up for those few extra minutes needed for everyone to get out of the hanger. 'Somehow... I knew this is how it was all going to end... Alone... Keelah. Why couldn't I... No... Not the time to think like that... Not near the end... Happy thoughts Zith... Happy thoughts.' She tried to think of a few happy moments, meeting the crew, getting to know some of them, well, some more than others. That last thought sent a jolt pain through her body from her chest. 'I told myself that I wouldn't regret that... But... I regret not fighting...' She looked up when she heard a mechanical hum next to her head. A Geth hunter disabled its cloak and aimed its weapon at her head. "I'm sorry I didn't fight harder..." She closed her eyes as she activated the last mine in her hand. --- As the last shuttle to left the hanger, the team looked back to see the door explode open. They could see the remains of someone and a few deactivated Geth around it, for a moment before the doorway gets flooded with more Geth. The shuttle made it out and back to the Dunkirk, right as it fired on the station. Most of the team watched as the station was destroyed before they left to attend the mission debrief.
