Music Mike has been best pals with Jeremy’s Dad, Walt Duncan, ever since Highschool, but lost contact and didn’t speak to eachother (nor thought of eachother) for DECADES; till Walt ran into Mike at a convenience store and boom. Full immense rambling and interrogation by Walt.
Some notes I would like to add:
Music Mike has either formerly managed popular rock bands that both Jeremy and Walt love, or oddly has connections with the band/band member.
Music Mike is a brit
Jeremy absolutely became an excited wreck when his dad told him about Mike and his connections with popular rock bands, including Gingivitis. He tries to impress Mike with Goat Cheese Pizza (Mike is warming up to seeing them rehearse).
Not just rock, but Mike indulges in other musical genres. Mike can jam to anything, which Connie sees as a benefit because now she can share her jogging playlist with someone new.
Music Mike can get along with just anyone because of his expanse music taste.
Unfortunately, as cool as he sounds, his personal life isn’t quite warm. He lives alone, though he has a long distance wife, living in Belgium, who plays the tambourine. Luckily, Mike moved right next to the Duncans, so now he’s neighbours with his best mate and his best mate’s family. He doesn’t feel too lonely anymore.
Despite Mike stating how he has tons of connections (aka friends), it seems like Walt is his only genuine friend in the comic strips considering how alone Mike is when not around the Duncans.
Mike owns a ton of music “relics” and stuff that would go for a million on Ebay, like a scruffy bandana worn by some famous rockstar, or a singular guitar pick used to pick some band member’s earwax. Jeremy treats Music Mike’s like a sacred museum of music history.
Music Mike isn’t too facially expressive most of the time, but when he is, he’s a very exaggerative person.
Music Mike has a lovely head of hair for someone a few years older than Walt, but the secret is he wears a toupee.
