So I just watched the final. I have a lot of thoughts. I genuinely hate being a complainer because if there’s one thing that Invincible fans love to do it’s complain 🫠

But S4 has just felt very underwhelming to me.

There’s been really enjoyable moments throughout S4 not saying there hasn’t but I just feel like the writers don’t know how to handle the emotional sub plots anymore. Idk maybe I’m reaching with that and it’s better to say they handle the emotions poorly.

This season has been so underwhelming.

Especially the final. I don’t need massive blood battles to be entertained. I know the final was quite faithful to the comic considering. They even gave Eve one of her comic outfits. Love that & I actually have to eat my words from a few weeks ago cause I said it wasn’t likely they would let Eve have one of her cool outfits on twt but still the final just left me idk.

For example:

Mark is going through ptsd! He literally asks to finally talk to professionals. Something he should’ve done two seasons back. Why couldn’t we see that scene? Why couldn’t he have that convo with Debbie?

Also not a single mention of Conquest to Cecil btw 🤨

Eve & Marks convos felt so stilted. Again I think the abortion scene is accurate if I’m remembering correctly but Eves been by herself for so long let her scream and shout about it. She says it, cries, Mark cries, hugs her, and then we skip to him crashing out instead (Very understandable) But she’s comforting him again 💀 Let Eve have an out burst. Yeah I know Markeve will get more like this but it’s just frustrating to watch them emotionally stunt her to some degree.

I’m totally nitpicking here but we see William & Rick which yay but you’re telling me that S2 just flew out of the writers minds entirely??? Why tf is William asking where Rick has seen that look before? Like William wasn’t right by his side when Rick was trying to commit suicide. 😔

Should’ve known they would still push for Debbie & Nolan. Her & Paul didn’t end on bad terms like in the comic and sure the last two seasons have pinpointed that Paul is still really weird about the superhero life but I don’t get the point of the breakup.

The writers showed him trying to come to terms with it but more importantly, Debbie & Paul were by themselves assumedly still 10 months?

What would be so different for them to break up when Paul has been around Mark & Oliver for months?

Just feels lazy tbh 😭 I’m not saying I could do any better but it just feels like they’re not even trying.

All the emotional depth is going to Mark but because it’s so constant and basically the same over and over, I almost don’t care? 😭

I do care and I love him so much but for example he had what four ptsd visions??? I was just there like 😐

I feel so bad for complaining I really do cause I know they’re working hard but bruh!

Overall the final is fine as is S4 but I almost feel as depressed as Mark atp. Thank God for Allen & Zoe being the need comic relief.

Here’s hoping S5 switches things up a bit more.

Tech Jacket is so cutie patootie I love her. I will not be tolerating any hate towards her, she is three apples tall. Also, her friendship with Oliver and Allen is so cute. unsure if a romance is gonna develop between her and Oliver, which I wouldn't mind, but they need to stop making all the cool female characters get reduced to just being a love interest
