Forgive me daughter, for I have sinned. { Zoe&Key}
Coming home from work at dawn, Zoe immediately noticed a note that was left there at her door. It rarely happened nowadays as the person who frequently left letters no longer sent some for the past two years. Although whenever there was one, she had an idea who it might be coming from. She fished the note and unfolded it as soon as she had it in her hands, reading the content as she unlocked the door with the fog from the inside escaping the room. Zoe knew it was from Mr. Key.
“Five o’clock” She read as she looked up on the wall, placed the note on top of her bedside drawer, and disappeared in the bathroom. Two hours have passed and Zoe left her room looking like her usual self as a student. Taking a bath with some floral bath soak did the trick that no stains and no scent of whatever she had committed a couple of hours ago was left. Although she looked terribly tired that she had to put circular glasses on and some concealer to cover up. She had no time to sleep and all this time she only thought about the things that could possibly come up with her conversation with Mr. Key.
Several minutes later she was standing at his front door, sighing softly and carefully before knocking twice then said, “Mr. Key, are you in? This is Zoe. I believe you asked for my presence last night but I wasn’t home. I’m wondering if this is an appropriate time for me to visit?”
Kibum was sitting at the desk in his room, working on some letters to another kingdom. He had been keeping an eye on another kingdom for a while now as he gave them guidance and tips with an influx of necromancers flooding their lands. His pen hovering above the paper when a knock, and then another knock was followed by the soft voice of his child.
Of course he allowed her in with a small smile. “Good evening Zoe, thank you for coming to my room at such a short notice.” He bowed lightly as his light eyes took her in. Such a pretty young woman and he was proud of her even if she disappeared at night sometimes and he did not feel like he had the right to find out where she went. He worried, of course, but that was what all parents did. “You look tired.” He noted as he pulled out a chair for her at the table in the living area and walked off to the kitchen to fetch them a cup of tea and would listen to whatever she was saying as he prepared the tea.
“Ah, Zoe you probably wonder why I have asked you here.” He said eventually when he placed the cups of tea in front of her and himself and sat down. “There is something... I have to talk about with you. You are aware that I was Taemin’s host for a while, taking his soul within my own to ensure his survival. I do not know if you have spoken to Taemin these weeks but we have broken that bond.” A pause as he blew on the hot tea, steam hiding his pink eyes for a moment. “Not to worry though, he is doing okay, reasonable. It was not because the bond between me and him has weakened that this came to shove but rather...” He paused again, thinking before he spoke.
“He has a terrible habit of getting under your skin and making sure the most uncomfortable of things happen. I fear that I have allowed him to have this same influence on myself.” The elf looked neutral but to others, like Zoe, one could see the discomfort in his eyes and the way he held onto the cup. “We broke the bond because other feelings came up between us that were not... okay for a host and a, uh, hostee.” He frowned now.
“You must think terribly low of me.”
