Notes:

•The head and body are made in one piece, and the pattern marks when to add eyes, face, and when to stuff. It’s best to do it then, because once the “neck” has been created, it’ll become a little harder to get your hand inside.

•This pattern was created with the velvet yarn in mind, and really works best with velvet yarn. If you’re going to make it with a different material, make sure it’s something soft. I tried it with a one pound skein of cheap acrylic, and it didn’t feel good or take shape.

•This pattern is cuddle sized. Mine ended up about 14 inches tall (from the bottom of his foot to the top of his head, not including ear height), so make sure you have enough stuffing!

These fish are also known as the Māori wrasse, Napoleon wrasse, so mei, merer, etc. Colors typically vary from dull shades of blue and green to brighter shades of blue, green and purple for males. Females are typically rust colored. These large fishy friends are known for big lips and a forehead hump.

Notes:

Once the pattern says to stuff, you’ll want to continue to stuff as you go. By the final decrease rows, it’ll be difficult to reach in to stuff it. And make sure you have a lot of stuffing. The end product is HUGE. I’ve included pictures throughout the pattern for references on what it should look like and where the extra pieces go. Cinch the side of the fin with the loose ends and sew to the side of the body. Make 2.

Sew into a cylinder and sew onto back of the body, cinching as needed so the tail fans out.

Next, pick up stitches and single crochet the border shut. Sc another row, increasing on the first and last stitch. Finish off.

“Have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on? That's weird.”

This hat is easy to work up, and is perfect for both beginner and advanced crocheters alike. The perfect gift for any Riverdale fan!

The hat is crocheted flat with back loops single crochet for a faux-ribbed look with a “drawstring” to create the shape. The only stitches you’ll need to know are single crochet, increase, decrease, and slip stitch.

This pattern includes one size that can easily be modified. You can chain more at the beginning to make it longer and slouchier. You can add a point to make it bigger or take away a point to make it smaller. But the size included makes a hat that fits a head circumference of 21-23 quite comfortably.

Size H (5mm) crochet hook

1 skein of Lion Brand Heartland yarn in Great Smoky Mountains

A red circle button (about 1/2 of an inch tall) and white rectangle button (about 1/2 inch tall and 1 inch wide). These will be used to decorate the hat. In canon, both decorations are metal buttons. You can use whatever suits your fancy.

Row 1: starting in second ch from hook, sc across. (45)

Construction:

Match up the sides lengthwise and sew them together. Weave the tail through the top and pull tight like a drawstring. There will still be a little opening. Sew it shut and tie it off.

Flip up the brim and (optional) tack it down in the back with the remaining tail.

Since the buttons are metal in canon, I painted mine using nail polish and a makeup sponge. This is a totally optional step, but it looks pretty cool!

Sew the buttons onto the brim and you’re done!

Dumbo octopuses are fascinating creatures. There are about 17 different species, most ranging 8-12 inches. One of the ways they move around is by flapping their “ears,” just like Dumbo!

This amigurumi is worked in the round. Stitches are picked up for the wavy tentacles, and the fins near it’s eyes are made separately and sewn on. I’ve made this octopus with three different eyes. For the yellow one, I embroidered the eyes with black yarn. For the coral one, I had clear safety eyes that I painted white. For the pink one, I used black pony beads. I also used red heart yarn and a 5mm hook for coral and pink, but I used big twist and a 4.5 mm hook for the yellow one. You can really use whatever yarn you’d like, so long as your stitches are tight and it keeps it’s shape!
