Zomato’nun 7. Doğum Gününü Kutladık!
Zomato’nun 7. doğum günü partisi 400’den fazla davetlinin katılımıyla Curcuna’da gerçekleşti. Etkinlik boyunca gelen misafirlerimize bira, şarap ve atıştırmalıklar servis edildi. Hep beraber doğum günü pastamızı kestik!
Aynı anda Lizbon-Portekiz’de de Zomato’nun 7. yaşı kutlanıyordu. Periscope üzerinden yaptığımız ortak yayın ile Lizbon’daki etkinliği canlı izleme şansımız oldu.
Etkinlik boyunca misafirlerimiz müziğin keyfini çıkarırken, Kutumubu ile fotoğraflar çekip, sohbet etme imkanı buldular.
Bir sonraki Zomato Party’de görüşmek üzere!
We threw a #ZomatoParty (and lived to write about it)!
On Wednesday the 15th of July, Cape Town celebrated Zomato’s 7th birthday the only way we know how: with delicious food, unlimited drinks, and 200 of our favourite foodies.
We started the evening off with a welcome drink, of course: a choice of “Zomato Juice” (a spritzer courtesy of Two Oceans Wine) or a Fire and Ice! vodka martini... or both.
The food was one of the highlights of the evening, and this is also the point where we get to make you feel hungry. Real hungry.
Melissa Louise, Nic Smal and Nikki Smal joined in on the celebrations
The Eatery cooked up their signature sirloin and chimichurri sauce, while The Larder offered free-range chicken sausage rolls with chilli plum jam, which were barely on the platter long enough for us to snap a pic.
Rustica spoiled our guests with Italian treats: minestrone soup, pesto gnocchi, deconstructed chicken and mushroom pasta and tiramisu to top it all off. Representing Asian cuisine, Beluga served up their famous sushi, tempura prawns and savoury doughnuts, while the dim sum from I Love My Laundry in Buitenkant Street disappeared so quickly we actually didn’t manage to get a photo.
Fire & Ice! pulled out ALL the stops, from the incredible venue to the faultless service - we couldn’t have asked for a better team to host our party. As if that wasn’t enough, the head chef and his team served up an absolute feast: from an oyster bar to mini burger sliders to sticky ribs. They also showed off their fine-dining skills with duck carpaccio canapes and salmon bites served on a meringue with a citrus jelly. (Right?!)
“What about dessert?” we hear you ask. Platter after platter of sweet goodness was laid out by Fire and Ice!, Kikka and Table Thirteen - and yes, those are shots of the hotel’s famous vanilla and chocolate milkshakes.
One of our favorite foodies, Herman Agenbag, just so happens to be an amazing photographer and spent the evening snapping away in between bites of food, which is how we got pictures like this:
We made sure our guests weren’t thirsty, thanks to Delheim, La Couronne, Winepress and Deetlefs wine. Brandhouse also came to the party (see what we did there) and made sure that there was something a little stronger on offer. (Ketel One vodka, anyone?) Of course, a party wouldn’t be complete without a keg or two - Keg King made sure the boys could have a cold one if they wanted to. (And if that turned into one too many, Kia was on hand for free lifts home in their latest models!)
A few lovely bloggers and foodies (and their plus ones, for a change!): Amy Brown, Sarah-Jane Vincent and Nicole de Freitas
Usually, all you need to give a foodie is some great food and the Instagramming of it counts as the entertainment, but not this time. The awesome Phill Black stepped up to the plate as our MC, and Samuel Miller and Josh Roxton each performed a live set for us before the resident Fire and Ice! DJ took to the decks.
Of course, a birthday isn’t a birthday without a cake. (A seven-layer red velvet cake with gold-dusted tomatoes on top, courtesy of Velvet Cake Co., to be specific).
And in the same way, a birthday isn’t quite the same without presents. We did things a little differently, by asking our guests to bring us a present in the form of a donation for our Mandela Day drive. We collected more than ten boxes of food, clothing and tinned food for our partner charity, Dare to Share.
All in all, our little Capetonian Zomato Party turned out to be a magnificent affair. So from us to each one of our fantastic sponsors, and to every guest who partied like it was 2008, thank you - we can’t wait to see you all at our 8th!
There ain’t no party like a #ZomatoParty.
Happy Birthday to one of our favourite apps! @zomato turned 7 last night. Thanks for the party @zomatosa #zomatoparty
