So I have something VERY special for you all! Something I've been working on for a couple days and I hope you may find it interesting 🥹
The CornPuff presents: The Walking Dea- Mario
(TW for pencil colored bLoOd and spoilers to some smg4 lore 👀)
So this au story would start out with a corrupted USB falling from the sky into the smg4 universe.
Smg1 and Smg2 find out about this crash and try to get smg4 and Smg3 to go with them to investigate. However, in this story Smg3 doesn't tag along with them which just leaves 1, 2, 4 to investigate.
The corrupted USB injects the land surrounding it with a virus code, a code only able to attach to codes that come from other USBS.. which unfortunately meanssss..
The guardians that came across the USB get infected by the code due to them originating from USBS. If a random character were to head towards this infected USB nothing would happen since it's a code only targeted towards other non-infected USB codes. In order for a character that doesn't come from a USB to be infected from the virus is by being bitten/ attacked by an infected USB coded individual... Which in this story would be smg1, Smg2 and smg4.
Now, we know that Smg1 and Smg2 are cosmically linked as well as how Smg3 and smg4 are. In this story that would raise a problem...
Zombie smg4 would be actively seeking out for smg3 to try and pass on the virus code.
But at least smg3 would definitely feel something is off about the ol connection since a zombie is undead meaning they're technically dead but still animate.
Now, with this in mind, if SMG3 were to go to the corrupted USB's location he would also be infected with the virus. Smg1, Smg2 and smg4 would NOT want 3 to get infected and would be trying their best to switch from ZoMbIe MoDe to being conscious as much as they can to warn people to stay away from them and to warn 3 to not head towards the USB.
(they get their lil PuPiLs back whenever they feel consciousness again 👀✨)
Smg3 would have to work together with some of the main cast like Tari, Meggy and Mario to find a cure to this virus.
Which brings me to the good ol good ending/ bad ending scenarios 😈
The good ending is obviously them being able to find a cure to the virus, save everyone and wOooO MeGa HaPpy eNdInG
But the bad ending would have some of the following consequences 😈✨
Smg3 being infected would conclude the USB's goal of contaminating all of the USB coded individuals thus far. The next thing that would happen is for all the SMG's to attack other individuals until everyone is infected
Including... The avatar.
☝️😈 Now the avatar is an interesting case because of what is known in the SMG4 universe which is "If Mario dies, then everyone dies" but if he were to be zombified, then everyone wouldn't die in a snap. In fact, it would happen slowly over time due to the whole UnDeAd thing going on. The world would start to deteriorate and corrupt itself until it is all GONE :D
Everyone (including mArIo) would start to develop those corrupted patches that Smg1 and Smg2 have 😈✨
BUT this c a n be turned into a good ending if SMG3 and the gang manage to find a cure in the nick of time and give it to Mario. That way the world doesn't eNd and they can administer the cure to the others from there 👀✨
