I just started listening to Welcome to Night Vale. I'm on episode 7 and so far I really like it. It makes me laugh a lot, although I don't know if that's the purpose of the podcast.

Yeah but it's an official page. It's part of their advertising. People are paid to run it and they're supposed to address their audience appropriately in a professional manner. Surely someone should point out that their marketing is extremely biased toward a country that the show is not even based in???
