Without the courage to face the zombies, I’ve just kept holed up in the tower. I’ve long since run out of food, and now, only my pistol rests by my side. It seems that it’s my fate to be a prisoner of the office. With regret and much remorse, I’ve written this tale out on the computer of BD Inc. Floor 6 employee Tom Ike. Here within this huge tower that will surely act as my tombstone. If you’re reading my story, I urge you to act where I’ve failed. These cards have made their journey to you through time due to someone’s conscious choice. It’s so that you can harness the power of the zombies, and fight with it. #ZOMBIEWORLDORDER #ゾンビの世界秩序 #バンダイ #Bandai #BandaiAmerica #バンダイジャパン “Francis Marshall?” Tom handed me other cards, each which stunningly depicted fearsome zombies on their fronts.  “I made this card game before the outbreak.” Curiously examining the ornately depicted zombies, I doubted what I had heard. “Of course you’re surprised. All three of the zombie factions I told you about are shown right there on the cards. Think about it: I’ve never been to Japan, and neither had our up-and-coming artists, and yet here are the Deadmen, depicted dead as can be. Doesn’t it seem strange?” Before I could tell him it did, Tom answered himself. “When I left the community and had to flee from the Immortal’s attacks, Mecha-Zombies’ bombs, and samurais blades, I was thinking the same thing as you: How could this be? And why? With a single hope in my mind, I made my way back here. It’s all cleaned up now, but when I first returned, everyone in the office was already one of “them.” Running from my former coworkers, I finally made it to my desk, and took a look at the cards. Of course, my reaction was just like yours. All of the zombies I’d seen were shown right there. But that wasn’t all. I realized that the cards held a deeper meaning. They hold a power within them. What can it be called but magic? Hey... I don’t mind if your jaw drops, but hear me out to the very end. There’s not much time left. I used the magic stored in these cards to fight off my coworkers. Then I tried them in other places, with other zombies. It was true. You should try it yourself. Try it, and decide what this power should be used for. Getting out of the car, Tom handed me the keys to the car and office, as well as an envelope full of cards, and pointed to the top of the tower. It was so tall that I could hardly see where it ended. “Someone predicted this. That the world would be this way. And they entrusted someone with their desire to bring the world back to the way it was. Now, I entrust it to you.” When I turned back to look at him, Tom Ike was nowhere to be seen.

As for the robots themselves, even without humans, they just do what they were built for: Smashing other zombies until they fall apart. You see now? That means that there’s a war going on between 3 factions in this country: The Immortals, Mecha-Zombies, and Deadmen. That’s why I said that in a way, you were lucky to be chased by normal zombies.” As he finished telling me about these surprising turns of events, he pulled off the road, stopping his car before a large tower that stood at the top of a coastal point.  “There’s an office inside this tower. It was a toy company. I used to work here making card games.” Tom pulled an envelope from his pocket, from which he drew out a single card, handing it to me. On it, a white-haired man was standing atop a lectern with his right fist raised. I recognized the man’s face.

Nobody here could understand them. They came from Japan, or I should say, Japan itself came to us. Remember the earthquakes a few months ago? Since you were still underground, you might not have noticed. Who could believe that Japan itself would become a zombie? It was like a huge dragon. And on its back there must have been a hundred million samurais, ninjas, sushi chefs, you name it... Even the Japanese monster they call the Tengu! As soon as they made it to the states, they started tearing into the Immortals and Mecha-Zombies. With their samurai swords, spears, and arrows. Crazy, right? Tech Industries might have researched Immortals, but I bet they never expected they’d have to fight with samurais. That was way outside the calculations of the scientific brains there. I heard their computer went berserk when it couldn’t figure out how to take on both the enemy factions.

They had the power to beat down the zombies and raiders, plus... If gods and devils were actually real, and one showed up right in front of you, how would you feel? After undergoing some weird ceremony, the devotees started to look the part. As for me? I’m an atheist. I got out of my community as soon as I could. Didn’t want to become one of “them.” What do you think? Doesn’t it make you curious if there were others like me? Well, there were. Those who tried to stand up to the Immortals. Tech Industries. With what you said before, don’t you know about them? That’s right, Francis Marshall’s company. Interestingly enough, they were one of the first to start research on zombies and Immortals. Started modifying them as weapons. Who would have thought of that? Catching zombies and Immortals, and turning them to side with humans. Customized into Mecha-Zombies, they ended up fighting Immortals. It was like an old sci-fi flick. They had spies, zombies on bikes, and fighters that never stopped fighting. They put up a real battle against the Immortals.

You’ve seen it with your own eyes. At first, it was just like those movies. All of a sudden the dead are attacking the living. You’d think nobody could believe it, but that didn’t last. People get used to it. The zombies grew and grew overnight. Who knows where they really came from? Some say that a military virus leaked. Others, that some asteroid exploded and showered the earth with rays. One guy even smirked and said that when hell was full, the dead would walk the Earth. What do I think? Well... I think they’re all a little off, but none are completely wrong. But what’s the point in thinking about the reason, anyway? Zombies attack humans, who become zombies themselves. That’s how there got to be so many of them. Some people survived, of course. I’m one of them. People like me managed to escape with our lives, and grouped together. People are actually pretty strong. No matter what tragedy befalls them, they find away to survive. They seek connections with other people. Hah, I guess you’re a little different. But people built their communities, and found ways to deal with the zombies. They’re so slow on their feet, you figure people would. The real scary ones are the humans... the bad ones, I mean. The raiders. Just when humans thought they’d gotten their lives back, the raiders came to town. So many communities fell to infighting. That’s when the Immortal Devotees showed up. Creepy guys in their torn-up coats. The zombies and raiders had nothing on them. The Immortals made their way into the communities, gained trust, and became leaders. What were they, you ask? Only what I just told you: the fiends of hell, overflowing onto the earth.

A race I didn’t have a chance of winning. Even if I evaded them, there was no way to lose my pursuers completely. The zombies seemed to have limitless stamina. As if affirming my humanity, my sides were filled with pain, and my legs seemed heavy as lead. I began to feel dazed, torn between the desires for escape and rest. Just as these two impulses twisted in my head, I twisted my leg as well, and sprawled onto the ground. Maybe the shock revived my brain, as I was immediately filled with a sense of panic. Somehow finding the sense to stand despite my disoriented state, when I saw the zombies chasing me that filled the entire street, I trembled in fear. How did there get to be so many? Pushing on my exhausted legs, lungs, and heart, I ran around the corner by a large building. The sight that awaited me was a greater despair and a faint hope within it. A red sports car was blazing toward me at full speed, trailed by countless zombies. I banked on hope, running out in front of the car’s path and waving my hands to the driver, a young Asian man. He called himself Tom Ike, and he saved my life. On the verge of running me over, he noticed my bag and his car screeched to a halt. “Zombies don’t usually carry bags,” he said. Indeed, he was right. I introduced myself, and told him my story as we drove away. I felt especially talkative at meeting the first living human I’d seen in over a year, and Tom listened with apparent interest. After hearing about my predicament, Tom laughed, saying I was lucky to have been chased by normal zombies. “Have you ever heard of the monster called the Tengu?” he asked. Then he told me... about the state of the world, and what became of the Zombie World Order declared by that damn Francis Marshall. What follows is Tom Ike’s own account.
