The Young Cadet stood up once he was spotted there was no point in trying to Hide at that point as his visor switched over into combat mode. But to be fair, he wasn’t actually prepared or armed to deal with Steel. He wasn’t some joke no name Hopper who was wanted for petty theft of disturbance. He was a full blown psychokinetic which spelled all kinds of trouble for the young Cadet. Ziles however let his hand come to rest on his weapon but he didn’t draw it, he had to approach this carefully. The outfit alone was enough to give him away, the red and green with the gold armor. He was No Zone for certain but he was nothing if not quick on his feet. He was very careful to keep his tails together, the last thing he needed was for Steel to realize WHO he was. That could spell all kinds of trouble.
He took a careful breath as he locked eyes with steel “ Nothing to concern yourself over Steel. Just a routine check up, we like to keep an eye on Class S threats… but you are lucky! as a time traveler you don’t fall under our jurisdiction “ well that was a total lie! but Steel Didn’t know that. “ So i’ll just leave you to your business and we can forget we saw each other how about that? “ he really hoped that worked!
The hedgehog watched the Cadet, scrutinizing every movement the other made, no matter how small it was. Steel wasn’t ignorant of the gear the other sported either, he recognized it right away. In fact, the outfit alone gave away the connection of where the Cadet was from. Before all this, he had never met anyone from the No zone in person. This was a first, and he was only familiar with them by his own research he had done on them in his free time.
Steel did not make a attempt to approach the fox once he spotted the weapon at his disposal. It was true that it would be easy to disarm the other, with a flick his wrist in fact. Even so, he assumed that there were possibly more hidden away from his view.
-And he didn’t really feel like testing that at the moment.
Once the Cadet finished speaking, Steel waited for something more, and when nothing came, he looked rather…unimpressed. Breaking eye contact, he made a subtle glance at a object resting on a nearby table. He waved his hands toward it with a sigh, index finger pointing and bringing the object in between the two. It was a small camera-like object, a part of the sub-space surveillance system that Ziles has been setting up. Seems like he had made a mistake and left it out in the open for Steel to notice without realizing.
“Routine check up? Yeeeahh, about that, you’re a terrible liar. I would have bought that if you were more careful about where you left your things.”
