“ I wish to be as powerful as the one or many that created this potion I drink, which I will not regret wishing for “
From Aasimar, to Fallen, to Demon. Her descent is puppeteered by the Mistress of the Night.
Aaaaand there we go! So to clarify, Raum drank a wish potion during the supposed to be Final Encounter with the BBEG of our campaign. And then our wonderful DM granted her wish by turning her into a balor. There were madrids, portals, angels, and then demons and honestly--it was pretty epic ;w; Though since Raum turned into a balor and disappeared when the BBEG was killed, it actually stretched the campaign out for longer than the DM planned as the party then wanted to go save her haha sorry Barrel!!
So... I suppose balor!Raum was a bonus arc, and I’d very much like to draw more of her.
Some more clarification points beneath the cut!
Theos (c) @zonedsmiley
1. The first scene was their first deep heart to heart. The party got into an argument concerning werewolves and thievery ( see the Vex comic ) and Raum stormed off. Theos was the only one to follow her. As she ranted, Theos told her he was on her side, and if there was ever an altercation between the party, he would be by hers ( us against them ). Then they became vulnerable with each other. It was after this that they promised that they’d always have each other’s backs and then they nearly died by being foolish enough to kill a baby dragon on their own and encountering an adult black dragon just the two of them
2. The letter that triggered Raum was the accidental finding of Theos’s will. The will spoke about in the event of his death, how his possessions would be distributed among the party, and it had a special mention of her. Raum did not take the prospect of losing him very well--the will, to her, was his lack of commitment to staying by her side no matter the cost. Ever since then, it caused a strain on their relationship.
3. Gavony was a town that was being terrorised by corrupted angels. The party, on their own accord, wanted to save that town--but Raum didn’t see why they would. Up until then, they were usually adventuring for reward money or seeking vengeance or pursuing riches--mutual interests for Raum. Saving this town from as powerful a threat as corrupted angels for no reward didn’t interest her. But the party was good and heroic--they said a few biting words, which hurt Raum more than she would care to admit.
4. The potion that Raum gave Theos was a Potion of Reincarnation. She knew they were going into danger and at that point, she knew she may be drinking that wish potion (to save them, to save herself, which was it really?). So she trusted the reincarnation potion to Theos in case anything happened to her.
