I promised it was on the way, and even though it took me way too long and I’m still not entirely happy with it ... here it is.

Height chart with just about everybody according to the later timeline.  Yikes!  The lines in the background are in 1foot increments (I decided that looked nicer than having a person as well), so it’s, while not perfectly accurate, a pretty good representation of what I have in mind.  Asgore is the biggest w/ Tori as a close second.  Kid(/M.K., not sure which name works best) is the smallest, though he’s still a baby (I might put up an intro paragraph and sketch for him later ... along with whoever else people want to see.  I will take requests on this when I’m back from my trip, within reason).  It kind of looks like Blooky would be short, but that’s just because he always has his head down, he’s actually the same height as his cousin.

Basically, dreemurrs are huge!, coral salamanders and most breeds of elemental are pretty dang big too (Grillby’s about the size of a fully grown tiger), ghost cranes are tall but spindly, hotlands lizards are short on four legs but respectably tall on two, and the skeletons are pretty big too.  Except for Sans.  He’s tiny.

This is still W.I.P. I’ll be posting two versions; a digital and a traditional version (since my sister got ahold of the physical sketch and colored it in amazingly like toe cutiepie she is). They should be up about this time tomorrow.

Since there were a few (super awesome) people who said they’d like to see more ... Zootale time!!  

My friend @riahawk has been helping me out with the details of this au and contributed some great ideas and species names, thanks Ria!  Also I apologize in advanced for my sketches. 

Toriel is a dreemurr, also known as boss monsters or ‘the kings of the wild’.  They breathe fire, have fireproof fur, and are a highly endangered species.  In the old times they were hunted for their horns and pelts, now people are trying to save the species.  Tori herself was born in captivity and just loves humans.  If it weren’t for them, she wouldn’t even be here.  Her parents weren’t able to care for her when she was born, so handlers stepped in and raised her.  She loved her handlers very much, but she’s since been relocated to the Mt Ebott facility.  She’s got a very special bond with Frisk.  (and she might be my favorite to draw of all the zoomonsters)

Alphys is a hotlands lizard, the only natural non-avian biped of the group, and very, very smart.  She used to belong to a research facility examining monster intelligence, but the tests kept stressing her out and it just wasn’t a good environment for her.  That said, she tested amazingly well and actually learned a lot by watching her human caretakers.  She loooves watching tv (especially anime and late night trashy romance) and taught herself how to do things like use the microwave in the break room. 

Undyne is a coral salamander, an amphibious species that’s incredibly dangerous.  They have venomous spines that can cause mild paralysis, enough bite force to crack rock, and are known for their strength in and out of the water.  She was recently rescued from the wild.  She lost her eye in a territory dispute and even though friendly researchers got her to help pretty quickly they weren’t able to save it.  She’s not about to let it stop her though!  They thought she’d be a rehabilitation and release case but she actually likes it here (mostly because of Alphys~).  She likes to bait her handlers into contests and has been known to ‘rearrange’ the massive rocks in her enclosure. 

The bros are troublemakers.  Skeletons are a semi-endangered species with strong magic capable of firing energy blasts, and these two were born in a lab as test subjects for scientists hoping to better understand the nature of monster magic.  That place ... let’s just say it wasn’t exactly on the up and up.  Luckily for them they were rescued when they were still fairly young and once they were out of the rehabilitation center they got a nice, cozy enclosure of their own.  Which Sans can break out of ... and does ... like almost every night.  He runs around and lets everyone out on a pretty regular basis and the humans just can’t figure out how he does it.  They’re too clever for their handlers and will trick, prank, and generally harass them (you do NOT want to be on skeleton duty when Paps decides to build a puzzle by the door, trust me).  But they don’t do it out of spite, they just want to play and are very friendly with any human or monster they encounter.  Any handler having a bad day is sure to get lots of nuzzles, purring, and big doggy hugs from these two.  (also the design which sparked this AU, because I love me some gasterblaster beasts!)

In the grand tradition of shit no one asked for that I did anyway .... Zootale.

Aka the thing that has been consuming my mind for the past two days.  I don’t know why, I just had to do it!!  (personally I blame my intense love of any and all gasterblaster au-s)  The basic idea here is that instead of the monsters we know these monsters are more like animals.  Very intelligent magical animals.  And the gang’s been brought together at a facility specializing in research and rescue that operates a zoo open to the public. 

Frisk is fresh out of school and got a job at Mt. Ebott Zoo helping to care for the monsters there.  They’re doing great already!  Maybe because they have quite the history with these particular monsters...
