"Quiznack!" Ezor cursed to herself as she threw open the doors to the front of one of the biggest space malls on this side of the galaxy. "I'm late, I'm late, I am so quiznacking late!" She hopped onto the escalator and rode her way down the railing, almost bumping into a few pedestrians that were in her way. "Sorry!" She yelled in the back of her as angry voices rang out behind her. Before she reached the bottom she jumped out her legs and somersaulted onto the ground before getting into an upright position to jog off towards the food section of the mall. In full sprint, without breaking a sweat she saw the open area with food stalls and tables being occupied by all different races of the far side of the universe, but today she only had sights for one.
"Ezor!" She turned her head around to find a table with the only person who mattered at the moment. Her girlfriend, Napis, the cute brown-haired girl jumped out of her seat to wave at a now smiling Ezor. Gosh, she could just stare at her cute face all day and melt into the chasm of space endlessly if she could. Walking closer she could see her face more clearly and the way her bangs touched her face just shy of her eyes.
"I'm so sorry I got here late!" Ezor suddenly spilled her words once she reacher the table. "First, Lotor wanted me to do his hair since he doesn't know how to do it himself, and then Acxa wanted me to help her find some important documents, then Narti-" she tried to babble on but a gentle hand on her shoulder stopped her. Looking down she saw Napis with a kind smile and knowing eyes.
"It's fine Ezor, I know how busy you guys are, quiznack, I know how patient you are with me and the crew back on our ship," she fiddled with her hair. "Let's just eat and catch up, then we can go shopping for the dresses," She smiled up at her.
Oh right, they weren't just on a date, they were on a mission, but really they were both going to treat it as such anyway. Just two months ago their two friends, Shiro and Lance, announced they were getting married. They realized though that they didn't have anything to wear for such an event, so they picked a day to go on a date to find the perfect dresses for the both of them.
"What do you want to eat?" Ezor looked around at the various food markets to pick at none suiting to her taste.
"Well, Hunk told me to eat at Vrepit Sal's Diner when he sent me off, he told me their food is basically his. Would that be fine?" The smaller girl questioned and Ezor took out her wallet in a flash.
"Whatever you want," Ezor flashed a grin. Which in turn earned her a cute chuckle that she would walk on hot coals to hear again.
"Well, I'll go with you to check out the menu." She got up taking her purse with her. "I just hope no one else takes our seats before we get back," she glanced around nervously at the sea of aliens species around them.
"Don't worry," Ezor grabbed her hand softly, "No one will take our seats while we're gone." She smiled menacingly at the crowd of people just daring them to do so and the bustling crowd diverted from their direction.
"Hmmm? Okay, if you say so," She chipped obliviously. With a soft tug, she pulled her taller girlfriend towards the glowing purple lights but a big line awaited them. Both of them looked at each other with glum faces. "We should find another place to eat at. We don't have much time to spend here." They were about to turn around when they heard the unpleasant cries of alien gurgles in the front of the line as a burly man stomped his way through the line towards them.
"Are you Ezor and Napis?" He questioned them both.
"Yes?" they simultaneously answered.
"Good, what do you want to eat?"
"I'm so glad we have Hunk as a friend." The two girls stuffed their face full of free and delicious food they were able to get from the owner who received word they would come by and made the food on the house for them.
"I know, he is a lifesaver. We should get the guy something for the trouble." Ezor glanced at the other girl, content with her yummy free food. "Ah, you have something on the side of your face," She motioned at her own face to indicate the area the speck of food was on.
"Hmm?" she cluelessly rubbed at a spot on her cheek opposite of where the actual crumb of food lay on her face. Ezor chuckled with kind eyes and she could swear she saw a hint of blush on her face, but she brushed it off.
"I got it, stay still." Before Ezor reached over to touch her face she could feel the tension in the smaller girls shoulder ride up and any higher they could touch her red ears. Ezor tried to hide her totally smitten face but her lips couldn't help but turn into a smile. "Aaaand, there you go." She sat back down, but not before placing her finger in her mouth with ease and using her tongue to wipe away the crumb.
"Thank you," She dipped her head into her food again trying to hide her face.
"No problem," Ezor refrained her voice from squeaking at the others cute actions.
It didn't take them to long to find a store to try on different dresses and now Ezor sat down and waited for Napis to get out of the dressing room.
"Are you okay? Do you need help with anything?" She called out to her.
"No! I'm I'm fine! Just have to, uh, hold on that's not how...Okay, just wait a sec I can do this. You just stay out there," Her frantic voice rushed out in a stream.
"Okay, just call if you need anything." She made herself more comfortable onto the chair by bringing her legs onto the table in front of her. Suddenly an employee came in to check on them.
"How are you and your friend doing?" She said with a smile and that somehow irked Ezor. Scrunching up her face in disdain she lifted her feet off the table and leaned forward to look tall sitting down.
"My 'Girlfriend' and I are doing fine, thank you," She smiled but her eyes told differently.
"of of course! I'll leave you two ladies to it. Call if you need anything." She hurried away from her attending to other customers in the store.
"Ezor?" A small voice called out. Said girl whipped her head to look at the now fully dressed Napis.
"Oh, Nogugogo." one of many nicknames for her slipped out as she stood up from the chair walking over to her not letting her gaze falter from the other eyes. Suddenly the other felt small under the gaze of the other and looked down at the ground in hopes to get her heart to stop from beating out of her chest. "Don't." Ezor extended out her hand to the shorter girls chin to lift it up to stare into her eyes. But her eyes looked anywhere but Ezor's. "Look at me," She cooed softly. Napis shut her eyes tight, too embarrassed to open them again.
"Stop it," Napis gulped at the attention she was getting.
"What? You're beautiful," she chuckled low, "open your eyes." She smiled as the brown haired girl shook her head profusely. "Well if you don't then I'm going to make you open them." Ezor wrapped a hand around Napis' waist and brought her close but before she could make contact with her lips, Naps opened her eyes.
"Okay! They're open! They're open!" She lightly slapped her chest and arms so she could back up.
"Hahaha! I'm sorry," she chuckled at the pouty face on her cute girlfriends face. "But look! Now your eyes are open. Come here you." Ezor once again grabbed her by the waist and spun her around to look at a nearby mirror on one of the stalls. "See? You're beautiful," she blew into her ear which brought tingles up and down Napis' spine and to her toes.
"Stop that, Ezor!" She whispered shouted as she looked around them to see if anyone was paying them any attention. Thankfully nobody was.
"What? Am I not allowed to call my girlfriend beautiful? Which you totally are. We should get you this dress," Ezor looked into the mirror again. Napis chose a beautiful, red dress with intricate sheer lace detailing that had long sleeves going down to her wrist. She chose it because not only was it formal enough to go to a wedding but it was very modest looking in her opinion.
"What about you?" Napis changed the subject off of her.
"Hmm?" Ezor held her out at arm's length. "What about me, Love?" She smiled softly which made Napis want to pull her heart out of her chest and give it to her.
"UM, YOU KNOw," her voice cracked after she realized she shouted feeling embarrassed as onlookers turned their way. "You know?" She urged but earned a blanked expression. "The reason why we're here in the first place? Don't you need to find a dress too? Why am I the only one trying on dresses and you get to stand around and watch me, huh?" The sudden stubbornness coming out of her voice made Ezor laugh, which rang in the shorter girls ears like a chime in a church.
"Oh, that! Well, I know that we came here for dresses..." Ezor rubbed the back of her head, "but Acxa kinda found me one this morning so I was going to go in that instead. I didn't wanna tell you because you would have said something along the lines of 'well if you already have a dress then I should go alone' and I didn't want that to happen since I wanted to go with y-" Her babbling was cut off from Napis who grabbed onto the back her neck to pull her into a chaste but lingering kiss.
"I get it," smiled sweetly. "Geeze, I was looking forward to seeing you in cute dresses too you know," she pouted up at her. Ezor couldn't help the goofy smile from spreading to her lips as she grabbed Napis from her waist and pulled her up, twisting her around in a fit of giggles. Napis Hung on to her neck as best as she could as they swirled around together, but as soon as it happened Ezor stopped the fun and put her back down on her feet.
"If you really wanna see me try on some dresses all you have to do is give me another kiss," Ezor's eyes sparkled, her lips curled into a goofy smile.
"No way," Napis giggled again and lightly pushed her face out of the way. "Wait here, I'm going to take this off so I can pay for it." She turned around to enter the changing stall again.
"I could help you if you wanted," Ezor flirted again. Napis turned around before shutting the door and shook her head quietly. Ezor chuckled to herself and waited.
"Since we or I have everything I needed, should we go home?" Napis held onto her small bag containing her dress while her other hand onto held onto Ezor's hand.
"What's the rush? Don't you wanna hang out with me more?" Ezor smirked.
"Of course I do, but why should we stay when we already have all that we need? Is there anything you need?" Napis tilted her head to the side.
"No, I don't need anything, but I thought we could hang out more." Ezor stopped in her tracks and looked around. "There! Come!" Ezor pulled both of them towards the center of the mall into a clearing that came up to a big fountain. A couple of aliens were seated and standing around it with their drinks and conversated around it. Two kids were holding hands and threw a couple of coins inside of the clear water, with their wishes intact. "Hold on." Ezor let go of Napis hands and stuck her hand in her pocket to fish out two silver coins. "Give me your hand." She urged the other until Napis stuck out her free hand out palms up. Ezor carefully pressed the coin into her hand, closed it, and brought her knuckles to her lips for a kiss. "For extra good luck," she winked at a blushing Napis.
"Thank you," she finally blew out a breath she didn't even know she was holding in. "I had fun today. Even though we only had lunch and went to one store it was nice to spend some time with you." Napis looked up at Ezor and smiled. Ezor immediately felt like she could walk on air or fight a whole army for a decade or two, she knew one thing for sure. That she would do about anything to keep that happy expression on her face.
"I had fun with you too, I don't really care about the places we go or see, just as long I'm with you, Sweet Heart." Ezor returned the smile and now it was Napis' turn to get flustered.
"I get it! because I'm I'm the same as well," She tried to keep her voice level but it didn't seem to get the memo. "Let's just make our wishes so we can go home." She turned towards the fountain and closed her eyes. Deep in thought, she brought up her arms and tossed in the coin a few inches away in front of her.
"What did you wish for?" Ezor did the same.
"I'm not telling you," She pouted.
"Well, then, I won't tell you either," Ezor scrunched her face and crossed her arms. She tried her best to hold her face in that expression but as Napis looked on at her she broke character. "Okay fine, I'll tell you," she let out a breath. "But only because you're so cute and an amazing girlfriend. My wish was for-" Before she could get out her wish, Napis blocked her mouth with her hands. "Mmm! Mhhhh!" She tried to speak through her hands but failed until she rolled her eyes and stared at the shorter girl.
"You're not supposed to tell me or else your wish won't come true, silly," she shook her head. "Will you promise not to tell me?" She questioned. The other girl brought up her eyes and scrunched her shoulders until she finally nodded in defeat. "Okay," she brought her hands down.
"If you keep putting your hands on me like that, I'm going to keep you with me and Voltron will never get to see you," Ezor joked and pouted.
"What makes you think I don't want that to happen?" Napis grabbed Ezor's hand and brought it to her lips. In that moment, Ezor grabbed her by the waist and dipped her to plant a kiss on her lips. Napis was surprised but soon after she sank into her arms with no problem. She draped her arms around Ezor's neck and kissed back with vigor. Ezor tried to slip in some tongue but Napis knew her limits, she pulled back and gave Ezor the look. The look of don't-think-just-because-you-got-me-off-my-feet-that-I'm-going-to-give-you-whatever-you-want look.
"I was just seeing how far I could go, Sweetcheeks," Ezor chuckled slyly.
"Hmm hmm," Napis hummed. "Let's go home, I'm sure everyone is waiting for us. I hope Lotor and the others will be kind to you." They walked away towards the escalator hand in hand, once they got on they faced each other.
"Lotor and the squad? Oh, they don't scare me, they should be scared of me. An alien in love is something to be scared of. By the way, I love you!" Ezor yelled and caught a few eyes of people around them.
"Ezor! SHhhh! Shh!" Napis brought her hands to her face, slightly embarrassed by the display they were making in the mall.
"Oh, so me yelling to the universe that I love my BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, GIRLFRIEND is not okay," She yelled those three words out. "But kissing you in a mall is?" trying to make a point.
"Well, both are different, because you're deliberately drawing attention to us. The kiss was sweet, quick, and quiet," Napis rolled her eyes.
"Eh, I guess you're right, I just love telling people I love my girlfriend. Here's our stop." Ezor hopped off and held Napis as she did the same. "When the wedding comes, will you be my date?" They continued walking towards the entrance where many ships were docked outside like a parking lot but Ezor brought out a packaged box.
"What is that? Pfft! Who else would I go to the wedding with? Do I have another girlfriend I don't know about?" She snorted. “And what’s with the box? You’re not proposing to me, are you? Because if you are I’m sorry for laughing.” She looked blankly at her.
"If you did I would make sure I was the only one," Ezor had a dangerous air around her. "But no, this is just a little present, to go with your dress.” She opened the box to reveal a small, red, necklace that was the size of a penny.
"Ezor!” She gasped. “It’s beautiful! I love it! Also! Of course, I’ll go with you! Thank you so much!” She stood on her tippy toes to give Ezor a peck on the cheek.
"Then I'll hold your word for it."
@nogurt-p at long last your date is here(*/∇\*)
