Taking its namesake from Cracker's 1994 hit of the same title, Copenhagen's Yasmina Derradj of Zoumer flips the narrative on her take of "euro trash girl". Reworked and recast as a boast of street cred, the "euro trash girl" in question instead tells you all about our protagonist — a diasporic, cat-loving, and non-smoking Algerian-Dane. As the track's motifs suggest, the track is fun and not-too serious, with Zoumer's feisty vocals and occasional purr carrying a largely conversational tone. Moving with a bassy nudge and its break beat grooves, the electroclash track is subversive in its lyrical reimagination and ornamented by its Orientalist flair and electronic kink.
